Chapter 104: Chapter 104: Wei Yin

Wei Shu endured it.

Deng Yuyuan casually pointed to her own head.

Wei Shu understood her meaning in a second: she wanted him to fake a headache. As expected of a scheming adult, to even resort to having him play the pity card.

He would never stoop so low!

"...Tuantuan, can you take a look for me? My head kind of hurts," Wei Shu said, pointing at his head with a blank expression.

Tuantuan, who had just been looking everywhere but at him, grew a little nervous upon hearing this. "But Tuantuan doesn’t know how to look either."

Tuantuan grabbed Wei Qi’s hand and hurried to Wei Shu’s side. "Xiaoqi, help me take a look."

"Don’t hold his hand!" Wei Shu exploded.

Deng Yuyuan also spoke up. "Tuantuan, you can’t be impolite. How old is Xiaoqi?"

Tuantuan had already turned her head to her mother, though she was still muttering to Wei Shu, "Brother, wait a moment. Tuantuan needs to talk to Mommy first."

Wei Qi spoke up to get Tuantuan off the hook. "Aunt Deng, I’m the one who didn’t let Tuantuan call me brother."

Exactly, exactly! Tuantuan nodded vigorously beside him like a pounding pestle, their hands still clasped together. Tuantuan was definitely not an impolite child.

Deng Yuyuan nodded in understanding. "So that’s how it is. I know you did this because you want Tuantuan to treat you as an equal playmate, rather than as a distant older brother. But Tuantuan is too young. She is still learning to determine various relationships through forms of address. A confusing way of addressing people is detrimental to her learning, so I’m asking you a favor: let Tuantuan call you brother, okay?"

"Okay, okay, Mommy!" Tuantuan jumped up and down, eagerly answering on his behalf and completely denying Wei Qi the chance to refuse.

"Alright then. From now on, when Tuantuan calls Little Shu, it will be Brother Xiao Shu, and when she calls Xiaoqi, it will be Brother Xiaoqi. Can Tuantuan do that?" Deng Yuyuan bent down to ask Tuantuan.

"I can!" Tuantuan let go of the hand she was holding and cupped her own little face, happily waiting for her mother’s praise.

"Mm, Tuantuan is so good. Say goodnight to your brothers." Deng Yuyuan reached her hand out to Tuantuan.

Tuantuan obediently took her mother’s hand, her voice sweet as she said, "Brother Xiao Shu, Brother Xiaoqi, goodnight!"

She left the Wei Family brothers staring at each other in dismay. Before they could even process what had just happened, it was already time for bed.

Wei Shu gazed in the direction Tuantuan had left. "She even told me to wait a moment..."

Such an infatuated son—please wait another lifetime.

Wei’s mother shook her head, trying to forget the bizarre things Deng Yuyuan had said, and led the children up to the second floor.

Mr. Wei went to the grandparents’ room to chat with the elders. His youngest sister hadn’t returned today, so his parents must be feeling terrible.

She decided she would still listen to Deng Yuyuan. Once the weekend arrived, she would go to the Buddhist temples and Daoist shrines to pray.

After Tuantuan fell asleep, Deng Yuyuan opened her farm game and logged in for a massive grinding session. She had been so busy lately that her farm’s progress had practically stagnated.

After harvesting a batch of crops, Deng Yuyuan began refreshing the system shop to see if anything new had been added.

[Homemade Shotgun: A product that can appear in period novels, suitable for hunters going up the mountain to hunt or for self-defense. The side effect is that it cannot be legally possessed or used.]

[Advanced Adult Male Cosplay Suit: Includes a wig, height-increasing shoes, shoulder pads, an artificial Adam’s apple, a muscle suit, and two outfits. The craftsmanship and materials conform to the current era, so it can be considered a homemade product.]

[A Pool of Spiritual Spring: Just like every period novel has a spiritual spring dimension, this Spiritual Spring can imbue the farm system’s crops with more spiritual energy. Note: The Spiritual Spring cannot be consumed directly by the player.]

[Power Potion Pro Version: Grants the physical body strength comparable to the Foundation Establishment Stage, surpassing the Combat Power of the vast majority of people in the world. Not recommended for use in front of others.]

They were useful but extremely expensive, which roughly translated to being useless since she couldn’t afford them.

Deng Yuyuan sighed and asked the AI customer service, "Can I use gold coins to exchange for a physical body for you?"

[? Why the sudden kindness?]

"So, can I?" Deng Yuyuan pressed, but the customer service did not reply.

It seemed this was a sensitive topic.

The night passed without dreams. At seven o’clock the next morning, Wei Yin returned.

Her hair was a mess and her clothes were completely wrinkled, but the Wei Family collectively breathed a sigh of relief.

The fact that she was still wearing yesterday’s outfit meant that their youngest daughter—and youngest sister—was safe.

Wei Yin was in extremely low spirits. She was just about to pour out her grievances to her family when she looked up and met a pair of soul-stealing eyes.

An unfamiliar woman sat at their dining table. A simple Dacron suit outlined her beautiful curves. She hadn’t styled her hair, allowing the slightly wavy, long locks to fall freely. Her snow-white skin was practically translucent, and her facial features were flawlessly exquisite. She was resting her chin on slender yet firm fingers, studying Wei Yin with equal curiosity.

—Tuantuan, who was working hard at eating her meal beside the woman, was completely ignored.

"This is my muse." Wei Yin’s eyes burned brightly, her voice trembling slightly with excitement. Only when the last syllable fell did she belatedly feel shy. She subconsciously raised her hand to tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear, but her fingertips couldn’t hide the crimson blush spreading across her cheeks.

In truth, no one could ignore the red swelling on Wei Yin’s face, either.

The Wei Family members all wore grim expressions. The nanny had already gone to fetch some ice cubes.

Realizing that today wasn’t a good time to strike up a conversation with Deng Yuyuan, Wei Yin grabbed a meat bun from the dining table. She took a bite before finally speaking to her family. "...I’m sorry. I still can’t let him go."

"Why? Does he have some dirt on you?" Deng Yuyuan was the first to curiously ask.

The rest of the Wei Family nodded in silent agreement, unable to understand why Wei Yin was so obsessed with him. Only Wei’s mother silently decided that she needed to get her youngest sister a talisman to ward off evil spirits and petty villains.

"Sometimes, one glance determines the rest of your life. Not to mention, he saved me before," Wei Yin offered a bitter smile. "In this lifetime, I probably won’t ever meet someone who matches my heart’s desires better than he does.

"He wasn’t the one who slapped me. I got into a fight with Chu Luo last night. Chu Luo is pretty badly hurt, too."

"Enough, enough. Go to your room and rest." Grandma Wei looked at her, furious at her failure to meet expectations. "The children are still here."

After breakfast, Mr. Wei and Wei’s mother went to work, and Wei Qi left for school. Deng Yuyuan was about to take Tuantuan home—except she had a little shadow tailing behind her. She also had two elderly folks and a nanny trying to persuade her to stay and hang out at the Wei Family’s home for the day.

"Don’t you need to go deal with your daughter’s situation?" Deng Yuyuan asked tactfully.

Grandma Wei waved her hand dismissively. "She’s a stubborn one. It’s just her usual messy affairs, so it’s fine if you hear about it. My old man and I had our faces completely disgraced by her a long time ago."

Having said that, Grandma Wei looked down at wide-eyed Tuantuan. "Tuantuan isn’t allowed to listen."

Tuantuan obediently covered her ears.

Grandpa Wei and Grandma Wei laughed heartily. "This little doll is so lovable, exactly like you when you were a kid."

"I wasn’t nearly as quirky and mischievous as she is when I was a kid," Deng Yuyuan replied.

"Blame us for not adopting you."
