The four women, Mia, Feimei, Jiao Yin, and Xiao Cui shared a glance that lasted only a breath, then all eyes fixed on Kian.

Jia shifted on the table, uncrossed her legs, and let her eyes fall shut as if the moment had already been decided. She knew what these girls were feeling at the moment because she herself had felt the same feeling before.

The heat in Kian’s chest flared when he noticed the first shift in their expressions.

[Ding]

[Hua Mia]

[Favorability: 200]

[First Milestone Reached.]

[Reward: Improve the quality of the talent you unlocked from her Vital Yin, the The Darling’s Yang ability. Or unlock a new Grey-level ability.]

Mia’s eyes went wide, then softened into something she hid with a carefree expression. She pulled a cushion into her lap and hugged it, swinging her legs.

[Ding]

[Hua Feimei]

[Favorability: 200]

[First Milestone Reached. She adores you.]

[Reward:Unlock a new Grey ability.]

Feimei didn’t look away from her tea, but the corner of her lips curved upward, almost imperceptibly. But she didn’t say anything.

Kian took a deep breath. It was not over!

[Ding]

[Xiao Cui]

[Favorability: 200]

[Reward: Improve the quality of the talent you unlocked from her Vital Yin, the Loved By the Land ability. Or unlock a new Silver-level ability.]

Xiao Cui’s face turned a deeper shade of pink and she ducked her head, her face focused for a moment on Kian. He. Was. Her. Husband. The man whom she would call hers for the rest of her life. The one who would soon give her little kids to adore.

’I wish I was alone with him...’

[Ding]

[Jiao Yin]

[Favorability: 200]

Jiao Yin’s composure finally could not hold. A tear slipped down her cheek, and she mouthed something that looked a lot like "I don’t know what to say..."

Kian stood there for a long moment, the weight of feelings pressing against his chest like a warm pillow. He nodded once, rubbed the back of his neck, and turned toward the door.

"Anyway, I’ve said what I wanted to say. Let me get some fresh air for a while."

Mia shot up from her cushion, grabbing his sleeve before he could take another step. "No, don’t go! Let me come with you."

"Me too," Xiao Cui said softly, already half rising.

Jiao Yin didn’t speak, but her eyes fixed on him, and that was answer enough. She also really didn’t want him to leave right now.

On the other hand, Jia was already at his side, not asking for permission, just skipping lightly like she had already decided to follow.

The doorway filled with bodies, and Kian barely made it past the hall before Mia pulled at his arm.

"You guys..."

He sighed, feeling Mia’s bosom wrap around his shoulder.

Mia looked at Jia and complained poutingly: "Jia, you always do this. You went with him last time. And Xiao Cui, you too. Be fair. Let me and Kian go on a date as well."

Jia clicked her tongue and tugged Kian’s other hand. "I’m his wife, not a guest. Why do I need a turn? And it was not a date, we went to buy land."

Xiao Cui bit her lip and looked down, hurt. "I just wanted to be close too."

Jiao Yin stood a step behind them, mouth open, then closed. No words came out but she clearly wanted to follow.

"Fine..." Kian said. "Stop arguing like three cats."

But then, he suddenly noticed something and felt annoyed.

Only Feimei stayed where she was, the book open in her lap, smiling faintly like the whole scene was a play she enjoyed.

Kian exhaled through his nose and turned toward the one person still seated.

Feimei hadn’t moved. The book rested on her knee, one long finger holding the page.

He turned and walked upto her. He glared at her.

She looked up when he stopped in front of her, and her smile didn’t waver.

"What?" she asked. "I’m a mature woman. I’m not going to act like these kids. Get lost."

Kian crossed his arms. "Leave the book. Since we’re going out, let’s all go out together."

She tilted her head, amused. "I’d rather stay and read."

Mia and Jia looked at each other.

Kian scoffed.

Then he bent down, pushed her hand away, caught her neck with one hand, and kissed her.

Feimei stiffened at first. Her lips stayed sealed, and one hand rose to push at his chest.

"Hm!"

But Kian didn’t pull back.

Mia gasped, her eyes focusing on their lips.

He leaned in harder, his other hand sliding the book off her lap and tossing it aside.

The sound of it hitting the floor made Mia flinch, but she couldn’t look away as he kept kissing and even began fondling her breasts right there and then.

In a second, Feimei’s resistance became weaker, then she stopped resisting.

Her fingers curled into his robe, and she parted her lips for him with a low, annoyed sound that softened into something nicer as their tongues coiled together.

It felt wet and nice.

Nghm~

He kissed her deep and slow, dominating her mouth until her spine curved back against the cushion and her fingers twisted into the fabric over his heart.

Mia stared, her lips slightly parted.

Jia crossed her arms and huffed, saying sarcastically: "So our husband is making out with our mother right in front of us. Nice."

Jiao Yin said: "Actually, they used to do this since a while ago. To be honest, they look really hot. I also want to kiss him."

None of the girls said anything.

Xiao Cui’s face was caught between scandalized and fascinated.

Kian finally made a small sound, like a chuckle that never became a laugh.

He pulled back just enough to press his lips to Feimei’s jaw. "You’re coming too."

Feimei’s eyes stayed half-lidded, her lips wet and red. "You’re a brute."

"Maybe, but you do not, in your own words from another night, ’dislike my bruteness’."

"I do not dislike it indeed, but don’t lick my lips so much, baby. It’s okay if you do that inside my mouth, right?"

He shrugged. "Felt nice."

She sighed, but she was already reaching for her shoes.

...

They spilled out of the house into the cool night, Kian in front with his arms wrapped around Xiao Cui’s shoulder. She fit neatly against his side, her hand resting on his chest as if she had always belonged there.

Mia and Jia fanned out to his left, bickering over something again, while Feimei drifted behind, walking slowly with Jiao Yin at her side.

"Girl, your cultivation days are soon to come. Are you drinking Kian’s essence daily?"

"Yes, it is having a real effect on my condition. Maybe I will start my own cultivation journey soon..."

"Hm, indeed. Your face is also a lot clearer."

Jiao Yin nodded happily.

Kian walked slowly to the marketplace.

The marketplace hadn’t thinned despite the evening time. Lanterns strung between stalls turned the road to honeyed gold, and the smell of roast seeds and sweet tea followed them through the crowd.

"Hey, Kian, Kian!" Xiao Cui said. "Look, there are a lot of combs there! Buy me one!"

"Sure, sure, your hubby is rich don’t worry."

She became excited.

Kian slowed so Xiao Cui could peer at a cart of lacquered combs, and the girls orbited them like moons, their voices rising and falling over the noise.

The vendor looked at the scene with clear jelousy and dumbfoundedness.

Jia peeled off the party and went after another vendor, looking at something she found interesting. She spoke to the vendor, and came back with her sleeves flapping a minute later.

"Kian!"

"What babe?"

"There’s a bell ringing competition going on at the market square. All the city’s talented youths are fighting to reach a golden bell hung high above a tower."

She grabbed his free hand. "If you reach it, they give you a very unique fruit worth a lot of money apparently. And it’s a big deal. It could be a real useful thing."

Kian turned his head, interested. "Who’s fighting for it right now?"

Jia counted on her fingers. "A lot of people. Some of the famous competitors are people I know."

"Eh, who?"

"That Su Chen guy is there. Also that woman from before, the female captain. Some other local young masters and cultivators. The vendor said half the city’s been placing bets."

Kian’s eyes lit up. If the reincarnated Soul Lord was participating, it couldn’t be simple!

Mia perked up from the other side. "A golden bell and a fruit? Sounds like the rewards are all spiritual." She looked at Kian. "Sounds fun."

Feimei’s voice came from behind, dry and knowing. "The moment you get near a competition, I assume you plan to win it. But don’t forget my warning: we don’t need chaos."

Kian smirked and pulled Xiao Cui a little closer. "I only plan to see who else is there first."
