"What kind of unknown area is it?" The man asked but Shen Xu didn’t answer right away.

Instead, he felt into thought and it wasn’t until an incense stick later that he raised his head to look Zhen Yuan.

"The unknown area has ten stairways; one for each of the elements." The double started, and quickly continued.

"Each stairway has ten thousand steps, and each step seals a drop of pure elemental qi into the cultivator’s dantian. After leaving the unknown area, the cultivator can then unseal the qi to advance their cultivation."He said.

"What about the main treasure?" Zhen Yuan asked.

"The main treasure is an elemental cloud at the end of each stairway." Shen Xu said and continued.

"Xiao Weimin has the five elements spiritual root and physique hence was able to climb five stairways. He received a fire cloud, a wood cloud, a metal cloud, an earth cloud, and a water cloud. The sealed drops and clouds were enough to advance his cultivation from the peak-stage of the heaven immortal realm to the mid-stage of the immortal emperor realm." He said and Zhen Yuan couldn’t help but be shocked.

"What exactly are elemental clouds?" He asked, but Shen Xu shook his head with a helpless expression.

"The book didn’t explain. However, every time that Xiao Weimin refined one, his cultivation would advance a major realm." The double said.

"You must also get a fire cloud, and the ten thousand drops of the fire stairway." Zhen Yuan said and Shen Xu nodded.

"We can teleport back to Wuhu city after completing the escort mission." He said and hesitated before continuing.

"Ayuan, we may encounter Xiao Weimin and others in the Wuhu unknown area." He said and Zhen Yuan nodded.

"I know but that doesn’t change what we need to do." The man said.

"Enough about the unknown area..., Ayuan, shall we soak the moon scales cone?" The double asked and Zhen Yuan smiled.

The moon scales cone was a renewable resource.

At ordinary times, they would soak it in immortal water to generate moon essence liquid and at others, they would take it outside the space to absorb moon essence. This way, they would have an endless source of moon essence liquid.

"It’s too bad that the space doesn’t have a sun, a moon, and stars." Shen Xu said.

"It’s because its laws are not complete, and it isn’t yet an independent small world." Zhen Yuan said and continued.

Soon after, a trace of silver-white diffused from the moon scales cone, and spread to every part of the basin.

Thirty space days passed, and the two noticed that one of the cones’ scales had disappeared.

However, this was expected because it meant that the moon essence in the scale, had melted into the mixture.

"Let’s try it." Shen Xu suggested with an eager face.

"Good." Zhen Yuan agreed.

After that, each used a jade cup to scoop some moon essence liquid, and drank it without delay.

However, a moment later, both felt that they should have prepared before drinking the liquid.

"This..." Shen Xu muttered and scrunched his nose with a disgusted expression.

"I am going to shower." He said and rushed to the bamboo hut, not wanting to think about the black grime covering every inch of his body.

Seeing this, Zhen Yuan also entered the bamboo hut and hurried to another bathroom.

One hour later, the two met in the sitting room and exchanged a helpless look.

"We always take care not consume too many impurities but it turns out we have been deceiving ourselves." Shen Xu exclaimed.

"I can’t believe my body had so many impurities. You..." He said but suddenly frowned because he noticed that another layer of black grime was urgently squeezing out of his pores.

"Bloody hell." He cursed and ran to the bathroom.

One cup of milk essence liquid caused Shen Xu and Zhen Yuan to live in seperate bathrooms for ten space years. When they were finally sure that no more black grime would be squeezed out, they left their bathrooms and met in the sitting room.

"Your skin looks good." Zhen Yuan observed and Shen Xu smiled.

"Yours too." The double said and continued.

"I originally thought we could drink moon essence liquid like we drink water but I was wrong. This thing is deadly." He said.

"Fortunately, it doesn’t require us to refine it or do anything to produce the desired effect. We can take it before going into seclusion, and leave it alone to do its work." The double continued, and Zhen Yuan almost fainted.

"You want to retreat in the bathroom from now on, or maybe block our senses so that we don’t notice the filth on us while retreating?" He asked, and actually trembled at the scenario he described.

Seeing this, Shen Xu sighed with a pitying look.

’Ayuan is still too finicky about cleanliness.’ He thought but knew that what Zhen Yuan described would likely be their future situation.
