Falling For My Alpha Stepsister (GL)
Chapter 164: Making A Nest
Angel took her grandmother’s advice and created a nest for her fiancée because April loved sniffing her, and Angel needed to be out working to earn money for her family.
The idea had sounded strange at first, but the more Angel thought about it, the more it made sense. April had become extremely attached to her scent since the pregnancy started, and leaving her alone for hours while she worked at the ranch or sea was becoming harder for both of them.
Angel did not want April spending the entire day feeling lonely or uncomfortable.
So, if her Omega wanted her nearby even when she wasn’t physically there, Angel decided to give her the next best thing.
She gathered her old clothes and some other clothes Angel had worn in the past. She even bought new ones, making sure she left enough of her natural scent on the fabrics.
Angel carefully folded everything before carrying it into their bedroom. She wanted the nest to smell like her from every corner.
Inside their bedroom, in a small corner, Angel decorated the place like a mini tent and put the books April loved reading inside. April’s collection of books happened to be in the bookstore, so Angel brought some home and placed them inside the nest, trying to create a cozy place for her Omega.
She spent a surprising amount of time arranging everything.
The clothes were placed around the edges to make the little space soft. Some pillows were added to make the floor more comfortable, and the books were kept within easy reach so April would not have to get up whenever she wanted something to read.
Angel even checked the little space from different angles, trying to make sure there was enough room for April to stretch her legs.
When she finally finished, she stood back and looked at her creation.
It was just a small corner of their bedroom covered with clothes, pillows, and books.
But it smelled strongly of Angel.
That was the part that mattered most.
When April saw it, she loved it so much that she curled up inside the nest like it was a soft bed, happily sniffing her Alpha’s warm pheromones.
Her whole body seemed to relax the moment she settled inside.
April now preferred being inside that place to being on the bed where she normally slept.
She would spend hours there reading, resting, or simply lying among Angel’s clothes with her eyes closed.
This made Angel jealous of what she had created for her Omega.
She had made the nest so April would feel closer to her while she was away, but now April seemed to love the little corner more than the actual bed they shared.
Angel could not help staring at her from across the room.
"April, baby..." Angel called from the bed, her eyes fixed on the nesting area as she looked like a lonely bird sitting all by herself.
"Hmmm..." April muttered, looking half-asleep from the soothing scent around her.
"Do you like it there...?"
"Yes, I love it. It’s the best place to be in the whole world..."
The original scent was on the bed, yet her Omega was loving the nest so much that Angel pouted her lips.
"You look so distant, Bebe..." Angel pouted again.
It was only about four feet away from the bed, but to Angel, the short distance looked endless.
She had expected April to appreciate the nest, but she had not expected her to practically move into it.
"Come... let’s share this place together..." April mumbled, stretching her arm. She wasn’t ready to leave the cozy place at all.
"But it looks so small for me to fit in... I don’t want to disturb you and the baby..."
"We are one, Papi. No matter how small the place is, we can fit. Just come and see..." April mumbled, patting the soft pile of clothes beside her.
Angel looked at the tiny space again.
She honestly doubted that both of them could fit comfortably inside, but she also knew she was not going to win against April when her pregnant Omega was making that face.
Angel got out of the bed and squeezed in with April. Somehow, the nest was comfortable enough for both of them to lay down together.
The soft clothes surrounded them on every side, making the little space feel warmer than it had when April was alone.
Angel wrapped her arms tightly around April, while April buried herself against Angel’s chest and neck.
Angel understood exactly why April loved the place so much.
It was not really about the clothes or the pillows.
It was about having Angel’s scent surrounding her.
"Now I love this place more than I did before. Thank you, Papi, for being here with me..."
"Thank you too for giving me a life which I never knew I needed..." Angel kissed her forehead softly.
April relaxed against her, resting comfortably in the Alpha’s arms.
The quiet room gave them both a chance to think about how quickly their lives had changed.
Only months ago, they had been two women figuring out their relationship one day at a time.
Now they were engaged, living together, and preparing for a baby.
Neither of them knew exactly what the future would look like, but they were slowly building it together.
"Do you think she is going to be an Alpha or an Omega... or maybe a Beta?" April muttered, resting her hand on her own stomach.
"It doesn’t matter what she comes out as. We are going to love her unconditionally no matter what..."
"Hmm, yes, we will... Our parenting will be different from what we got growing up. We are going to watch her grow and support her in every aspect of her life. I will teach her how to ride her first bike, and you will teach her how to swim in the ocean..."
"Yes, I will braid her hair, then read bedtime stories to her every night. Lucy May will be our little star..." Angel said, then went quiet as a sudden thought entered her mind.
She stared at the ceiling for a few seconds.
April immediately noticed the change.
"Are you still awake?" April asked softly, sensing the shift in her body.
"Yes, just thinking about where we made our baby. I wanted us to do it on the sea, inside a yacht. What am I going to tell Lucy when she asks how she was made?" Angel made a sad crying voice, whining into the Omega’s dark hair.
April remained quiet for a moment as she searched through her memories.
"Huh? I think it was around the time when the bookstore was newly opened. I forgot to take the daily pills for almost two weeks because I was busy with distributing all those flyers..." April said, thinking back to the days they had been intimate during that busy time.
Angel’s eyes widened as she started remembering their hectic days around the bookstore.
"Oh my goodness, do you think it was the one we did on the front porch, or when we had dinner outside on the grass? Or do you think it was the quickie inside the old horse stable?" Angel said, counting the wild moments with her fingers.
"We may never really know for sure..."
"Maybe it was the one inside the back of the Jeep..."
"Maybe... but I really think we should just keep it a mystery."
"What am I going to tell Lucy May when she asks about it later?"
"I don’t think Lucy is going to ask that kind of weird question."
"Are you really sure about that?"
"I’m positive."
"Well, I did ask my Alpha mother, and she answered me with a slap on the face..."
The playful mood slowly faded from Angel’s expression.
"Did it hurt when your mom hit you?" April asked gently, looking up into her Alpha’s eyes.
"At first it did, but then I got used to getting beaten regularly."
"Sorry..."
"For what?"
"For having such a terrible upbringing."
"It is not your fault darling, so stop apologizing," Angel said firmly.
The one who hit her had never once apologized for the pain, so why should the one who healed her feel bad for it?
April remained close to her, her expression softening as she listened.
She knew Angel rarely talked about those years in detail. Most of what April knew came from small pieces Angel had shared over time, little memories that appeared whenever the subject came up.
The tattoos covering Angel’s body had always caught April’s attention too.
She had admired them before, sometimes tracing the edges with her fingers, but lately she had started seeing them differently.
"Your tattoos... tell me the story behind them. Because sometimes I have the thought that you use the dark drawings as a cloth to cover your bruises."
It had never really crossed her mind before, but whenever Angel talked about her dark past, it made April wonder if the heavy ink tattoos weren’t just because she was a bad girl, but because she was trying to hide her old pain.
