Falling For My Alpha Stepsister (GL)
Chapter 149: Angel Has A Namesake
April told Angel that she would still have to work tomorrow, and Angel’s only response was to stare directly at Katie and her little baby sitting across the room. She didn’t say a word at first. Angel had been looking forward to spending their anniversary with April, so hearing that April would be stuck at the bookstore clearly wasn’t what she wanted to hear. Her eyes remained fixed on Katie and the baby, almost as if she expected them to somehow solve the problem.
Katie was currently busy breastfeeding her son, and she could immediately feel an intense, unblinking glare coming straight from the Alpha.
"Arg, Angel... I really can’t help the situation," Katie said, looking down fondly at her boy as she tried to defend herself.
"Which Angel are you talking about right now, me or the baby?" Angel asked, raising an eyebrow.
Millions of unique names existed in the wide world, and yet Katie and the twins had specifically chosen to name their very first son Angel.
All because Angel Del Rosario was the exact reason they had all met in the first place back in the district.
Angel pouted her lips and turned around to face her girlfriend, who was standing behind the front counter.
"Come on, Bebe. Just for tomorrow, allow Dante and Nina to look after the shop.... hmmm?" Angel pouted even more, using her softest voice to convince her.
"The first time I allowed the two of them to look after the shop, they completely abandoned the shop to go play outside," April replied dryly.
Nina and Dante were biological siblings, as well as Angel’s aunt and uncle despite their young age.
Nina usually spent most of her daily time out on the water with her mother, Luciana, doing commercial fishing.
And Dante spent most of his time following Angel around the open ranch.
"I’d honestly rather close the entire bookstore for the day than let those two step foot in here again," April said plainly.
"So our six-month anniversary date is still officially on for tomorrow?" Angel asked, her eyes lighting up slightly.
"Yes, Papi. I’m definitely not going to miss our special date for the world."
April stepped out from behind the counter and walked right over to stand directly in front of Angel. She reached up her hands, gently removed Angel’s cowboy hat, and placed it right onto her own head with a smile.
The two girls leaned in and shared a slow, romantic kiss right in the middle of the store.
"Hey, you two, please just be quiet over there... baby Angel is finally falling asleep," Katie whispered harshly across the room to the cozy couple.
They completely ignored Katie’s quiet warning and kept holding each other close.
"So what exactly are you giving me tomorrow, Papi?" April muttered softly, resting her cheek against her chest as she looked up into the eyes of her other half.
"Just let tomorrow come first, and you will see everything I have in store for you, my sweet love."
April smiled warmly up at her girlfriend, still feeling beyond eager inside to know what her big anniversary present was going to be.
"I also have a very special surprise prepared for you too, Papi. I really can’t wait for tomorrow to get here."
Angel ended up spending the entire rest of the day inside the bookstore, mostly being used as a comfortable human babysitter for the little baby Angel while the girls cleaned up.
Angel’s personal mindset had completely changed over these past months, shifting from an Alpha who was terrified of small children to someone who genuinely loved caring for them.
It had all started back at the orphanage, then meeting little June, who finally broke down her thick emotional walls for good, and later meeting all of her grandmothers’ endless young children around the estate.
Later that evening, the twins, Sabrina and Carlos, finally arrived at the front door to pick up their wife and small baby to head home.
That left just Angel and April alone to lock up the bookstore doors for the night.
Angel drove them around in a bright orange classic Jeep CJ, a generous gift given to her directly by her grandmother Paula.
Those Del Rosario grandmothers truly knew how to spoil their only granddaughter every chance they got.
To them, seeing Angel’s face was just like seeing their deceased second child come back to life.
Six long months ago, when they had first laid eyes on Angel at the estate, they said absolutely nothing negative, but simply welcomed her with warm open arms and pampered her constantly.
Angel choosing to work hard on the farm every day was definitely not their choice for her, but it was purely Angel’s own choice. She desperately wanted to be able to work with her own hands and provide a good life for her girlfriend.
Angel drove the Jeep first over to the main Del Rosario mansion to greet the whole family before she and April planned to head back to their private cottage.
Tomorrow was originally supposed to be Angel and Lucinda’s scheduled fishing day out at sea, but Angel politely told the young grandma that she would be needing a full day off tomorrow because she wanted to spend quality time with her girlfriend.
Lucinda said nothing negative at all, but happily told both of the girls to take as much time off from work as they ever wanted.
She even cheekily added into the conversation that they should definitely use all that free time together to finally give them a cute great-grandchild.
Both of the girls just laughed out loud at their grandmother’s playful teasing.
The rest of the night was going great, until Dante happened to overhear April and Angel quietly discussing how they secretly wanted to celebrate their anniversary together tomorrow.
Dante instantly shouted the big news out loud for the entire house to hear.
And just like that, the quiet, romantic anniversary that Angel and April had desperately wanted to spend completely alone together would now officially be celebrated with the entire chaotic family.
