Extra's Death: I Am the Son of Hades

Chapter 774: Fifth Student

Chapter 774: Fifth Student

“So? Why did you tell Kevin to summon Eternals? I hope you have a good reason.”

“I thought it would help your Authority of Ouroboros grow,” Severant said.

“…?”

“The mark on your back. It proves you are an Eternal. But your Authority of Ouroboros still hasn’t matured. It suddenly grew when it met ’him’, so I thought it would grow again when you met Eternals and they used their Authority of Ouroboros on you.”

“…?”

Neo stared at him with even more confusion.

Severant sighed, shifted into his animal form, and asked, “How much do you know about the First Divine War?”

“Up until the point where Hades defeated everyone, then defeated the Mother of Dragons, and then peace arrived.”

“Hades? Why are you calling your father— never mind. Call him whatever you want,” Severant said.

He continued, “By the end of the First Divine War, Ouroboros had been ’killed’ like any Supreme.”

“Wait, just like any other Supreme? Does that mean—”

“Yes. Ouroboros was the Supreme of Time. Before being ’killed’ like the others, he used me to cut out a small part of himself. That fragment carried his entire Authority.”

Severant went on, “That piece of him was weak and badly injured. And he had given up after seeing Hades’ overwhelming strength. That small part was about to die due to his injuries, but he was saved by four children.”

Neo stood still, listening.

“Thanks to them, he regained his determination and decided to fight Hades one last time,” Severant said.

“He did that alone?” Neo asked.

“Yes. Everyone else had already been defeated. Ouroboros believed he could win because Hades was injured from fighting him and the Mother of Dragons.”

Severant lowered his head slightly.

“But Ouroboros also knew he might be defeated again, so he split his Authority into five fragments. Four went to his first four disciples. Those fragments would slowly grow into the true Authority of Ouroboros. The last fragment stayed with him, and he used it in his final fight with Hades.”

Neo’s eyes hardened.

Professor Daniel, who helped him awaken his Time element, had said he had four students before Neo.

Neo later checked the Akashic Records.

He was the only student ever.

Neo thought the backlash of altering time too much had messed with Daniel’s memory.

But now it seemed those four really existed.

“So Professor Daniel is the Devil of Ouroboros, and he is also the Supreme of Time?” Neo asked.

“Well, the Supreme of Time is now just a husk, forced to act through predetermined orders. Otherwise, yes. They are the same person.”

“How did I get his fifth fragment of Authority?” Neo asked.

“He passed it to you subconsciously when he was teaching you. As for how the Devil of Time was in your academy, that was because—”

A new voice finished the sentence.

“Because the Devil of Time has been killed. Professor Daniel is only a Time Remnant.

“That’s why he never appeared again after you met him.

“The Devil of Time’s last fragment drifted through time searching for a successor, and disappeared he found one.

“He wanted someone who could bring his first four disciples back onto the right path. Professor Daniel wasn’t aware of this, of course.”

Neo and Severant both snapped their heads toward the source of the voice.

The space rippled.

A tall figure stepped out, wrapped in shadows.

It was the same person Neo had seen in countless memories.

The same person who had been giving information about him to the Alliance.

“Greetings, Heavenbreaker.”

“You…!”

Neo’s rage rose instantly.

This was the one responsible for his friends’ death.

“Wait, I’m here to help,” the man said with a small smile.

Neo’s hand moved the next moment.

It closed the distance as if the space didn’t exist.

His fingers clamped around the man’s neck.

“Give me one reason I should not kill you right now.”

“One reason? Is the fact that you cannot kill me enough?”

The man slipped out of Neo’s grip and appeared several steps away.

“I’ve gained the Fragment of Time I was after. Now I can move through time freely. Even if you catch me, I can change the past and undo it. It’s impossible for you to kill me,” he said.

Neo surged forward again, but Severant stepped in front of him.

The Demon spoke quickly, “Is Vivienne dead?”

“Unfortunately, yes.”

“You bastard!”

A massive wave of Darkness Firmament burst from Neo.

It swallowed the man whole.

Neo didn’t like the Witch of Time, but she had always helped him.

She was the reason he could keep meeting Moraine in the ninth Eon.

She had helped him regain memories he thought were gone.

Neo’s anger twisted inside him.

He kept attacking the man, but nothing landed.

The man’s form blurred and shifted, making him appear in a new spot every time.

Even when Neo filled the whole area with Darkness Firmament, the man’s voice still echoed normally.

“Calm down, Heavenbreaker. I’m here to help. I know I caused your friends’ death, but I’m here to fix it.”

“Shut the fuck up!”

“Sheesh, why are you so angry? We’re Gods, Heavenbreaker. So what if your friends died? Just turn back time and revive them. It’s not like you’ve lost them forever.”

“I said shut the fuck up!”

“Is this about Vivienne? Think a little. Your talent is limitless. If you can surpass the Celestial Worthy one day, you can revive even her. Her death won’t be permanent. So what if she died now? We can revive her too once you’re stronger. And with my guidance, you’re bound to reach the peak.”

“You fucking bitch… what do you think lives are? You think you can kill them just because you can revive them!?”

“What’s wrong with that? You’ve done the same. Did you forget that you killed your entire planet when you returned from the Voraka site because you knew you could revive them? Or did you suddenly become a saint?”

Neo’s body froze.

The words hit him like a punch to the gut.
