Chapter 626 - 626: Destroying The Voraka Site
Alliance POV
Several Years Ago
Dren frowned as he stood at the center of the conference hall.
He could see holograms of several high ranking from the Alliance locked in a heated debate.
The reason was ‘that guy’.
The Heavenbreaker captured by the Alliance and sent to Voraka Site.
They had expected him to reach peak Stage 4 by the end of 15,000 years and come out of the site.
He would be a Berserker by then.
The Alliance would capture him after that and use him in their war against the Forgotten Suns.
That was the plan.
But everything became complicated after the appearance of Universal Will.
“—as such we should destroy the Voraka Site!”
“What sort of choice is that!? We are just a few thousand years away from having a Berserker Heavenbreaker on our palms! We absolutely cannot destroy Voraka Site and kill him!”
“I agree with the choice of destroying the Voraka Site! The appearance of Universal Will says that something wrong is happening in Voraka Site! Either the Heavenbreaker has done something unusual or something has gone incredibly wrong!
“As strong as a Berserker Heavenbreaker can be, we absolutely cannot use a dangerous being like that! It can cost us everything!”
“It is exactly because the Berserker Heavenbreaker is so dangerous that he has potential and we should use make use of that potential! He is the only way we can defeat the Forgotten Suns with minimal expenses!”
“We can win without the Heavenbreaker!”
“The God Killer is on the enemy’s side! Can you fight him? Can you defeat him? If you can’t then shut up! We are losing the war right now!”
Listening to the shouts Dren sighed internally.
‘Idiots,’ he thought.
This whole meeting was pointless.
Due to the nature of Sites, what was happening inside there couldn’t be seen.
Even sending spies was useless. They would die, or come out as berserk monsters.
The only choice was annihilating the entire Site.
But that would require a Stage 6 God.
Using a Stage 6 God would be no different from telling their enemies that something was wrong in Voraka Site.
Then, the Forgotten Suns could use their hidden ace to travel back in time and see what was happening in Voraka Site.
‘We are barely suppressing the news of the appearance of Universal Will at the Voraka Site.’
‘But if we make big moves, the truth will become impossible to hide.’
What would happen if the Forgotten Suns met with the Heavenbreaker who absolutely hated the Alliance?
‘All hell will break loose.’
The Forgotten Suns already had God Killer, Sword Demon, Loved One of Space.
The Alliance, of course, had their own aces, but currently the Alliance was weaker. This happened due to the re-appearance of God Killer and Sword Demon.
Both of them had suddenly jumped to Stage-6.
‘Even before this, God Killer Zeus and Sword Demon Kane showed sudden jumps in ranks.’
‘It is widely believed that Forgotten Suns has a secret treasure. They are using it to send God Killer and Sword Demon to past or future, where the two of them train in safety before coming back stronger.’
All of this simply meant one thing.
Alliance could not destroy Voraka Site, or send spies to see what was happening with the Heavenbreaker.
They needed to wait until the Heavenbreaker came out himself.
‘Still, this is not a problem.’
‘The Heavenbreaker will be only peak Stage 4 when he comes out of the Site. No matter what sort of trick he has, we can capture him easily.’
A chuckle escaped Dren’s lips.
Heavenbreakers.
Lofty beings who used to decide the fate of the Cosmos.
But now they were nothing more than a unique resource.
The universal civilizations, having continuously advanced over quadrillions of years, could easily suppress the Heavenbreakers and the like.
Just as Dren had predicted, the meeting reached no conclusion.
It would continue that way for several years. After that they will decide to wait for the Heavenbreaker to leave the Voraka Site.
When the meeting was about to end for the day, a person who hadn’t spoken yet opened his mouth,
“Whatever choice we make, we need to search for the home planet of the Heavenbreaker. It will be an important piece for negotiating against him if something goes wrong.”
Everyone turned to the speaker.
Kevin.
The Apostle.
Apostles like him could get Quests and grow stronger at a rapid pace.
Among all known Apostles, Kevin, in particular, didn’t pay much attention to worldly matters and was instead always busy with his Quests.
It was rare to see him join a meeting and even rarer to give an advice.
The people in the meeting hall all had the same suspicions in their mind.
‘Did he get a Quest related to the Voraka Site or the Heavenbreaker?’
‘Or is he trying to take revenge since the Heavenbreaker killed a descendant of the Great One?’
…
Berserker POV
“Are you going to fight them?” Karax, the ant, questioned.
“Yes?” Berserker answered as he yawned. “Was that even a question?”
“I thought you said you are weaker than them currently.”
“It doesn’t matter if I’m weaker, I will still fight. And…”
“And?”
“Since they went to the center of the Jungle, the future is going to turn out differently than you think.”
Karax, frowned, unable to understand what the Berserker was talking about.
“Don’t go and don’t fight them,” Karax finally said.
“Why?” Berserker asked with a grin. “Are you worried that I would be defeated? I didn’t think you would get attached—”
“I will kill you with my own hands. I can’t let anyone else do that.”
Hearing those words, the Berserker fell silent.
Finally, he turned to look at Karax with a serious gaze.
He was evaluating Karax.
‘I expected him to grow stronger with Life Flame and Persephone’s Sacred Treasure, but his growth speed is surprising even to me.’
Karax had the potential to be a worthy opponent.
Unfortunately, he was still far from reaching that potential.
“Then, how about we make a deal?” the Berserker questioned. “I will give you a chance to kill me in the future, but in exchange you need to do something for me.”
Karax frowned, unable to understand what the Berserker was planning, but he motioned to let the Berserker speak.
“It’s actually quite a simple plan. It will give you enough time to grow stronger. And if you follow it, then you won’t have a chance to kill only me, but Zagreus and Nameless Death too.”
“…what’s the plan?”
