Chapter 87: Production Disaster
"That might just be the case," Jiang Ruolan nodded, agreeing with Guo Zhenyu’s suspicion.
After all, saving one kitten seemed too simple.
As such, it would make more sense for the Production Team to create more problems and make the mission more challenging.
"I didn’t expect the Production Team to make such a mathematical error. One is quite the optimistic way of counting," Lin Haoren commented.
"What should we do, Sister Jiang?" He Yuxin asked when a kitten suddenly lunged at her. She immediately cried in alarm, "Ahhh!"
"Be careful!"
The normally silent Qin Mo quickly stepped forward while pulling He Yuxin behind him. At the same time, he raised his other hand to shield the blow.
"Ugh..." Qin Mo grunted from the searing pain.
The kitten’s sharp claws dug right through his flesh, causing several gashing lines on his forearm.
"These kittens are very hostile! Everyone, run for the exit!" Jiang Ruolan cried, leading everyone out. "Did the Production Team really arrange these cats?"
"I don’t think so anymore! Why are they so aggressive?" Guo Zhenyu uttered, looking disheveled as he ran.
"I think you would be aggressive too if a group of strangers broke into your home uninvited, Brother Guo," Lin Haoren answered.
Guo Zhenyu glanced at Lin Haoren thoughtfully.
Although everyone was running for the exit, Guo Zhenyu and Lin Haoren had lagged behind the others to guard the rear.
After all, they weren’t trained athletes. How could they outrun the nimble cats and kittens?
Guo Zhenyu was quite foolish.
Even though he put himself in a position to protect the team, he didn’t want to hurt the small animals either.
Yet, with so many pouncing at them, he could only block the attacks with his arms.
Fortunately, Lin Haoren was nearby to lessen the pressure; he directly pinched the back of their necks and tossed them aside.

Lin Haoren’s lips curled into a smile, not expecting the casual act of catching and throwing cats and kittens to generate proficiency points for Animal Taming.
"Brother Guo, your arms don’t look good. You should run ahead. I can handle the rear."
"Alright," Guo Zhenyu nodded.
He didn’t insist on staying after seeing how skillfully Lin Haoren handled the cats and kittens pouncing at them.
A special guest was definitely a special guest; Lin Haoren had some serious skills.

With Guo Zhenyu running ahead, Lin Haoren faced double the frequency of attacks.
However, once everyone made it outside, the aggressive cats and kittens did not follow them. Even the Camera Operators made their exits safely.
Everyone couldn’t help but sigh with relief.
"Why is everyone back out so quickly?" Director Chen uttered in shock after seeing Team Retirement Home’s disheveled look.
"Quick! Get the first-aid kit! Brother Qin and Brother Guo are bleeding!" Jiang Ruolan cried, startling the Production Team.
"What! How did this happen?!" Director Chen was instantly alarmed, and his expression turned grave. "Get the first-aid kit for A-Mo and Zhenyu!"
When the Production Team saw the wounds on Qin Mo and Guo Zhenyu, they were startled.
The wounds weren’t deep, but they were long and multiple. They looked like cat scratches—No, they were definitely cat scratches.
"Is the Ironpaw Duchess so fierce?" Director Chen uttered with disbelief.
Although he was aware that the Ironpaw Duchess had a strong distrust toward humans, she had never actively attacked her attempted rescuers.
However, the wounds on Qin Mo and Guo Zhenyu told a different narrative.
"I don’t know if the Ironpaw Duchess is fierce or not, but her family members definitely are." Lin Haoren chuckled and said, "It’s a killing ground inside there."
"Anyone entering should be prepared to get scratched by dozens of furry ninjas," Lin Haoren said.
"What did you just say? Dozens? Are you sure?" Director Chen was dumbfounded.
Jiang Ruolan nodded. "You heard correctly, Director Chen. There was definitely more than one kitten in Qingshan Warehouse No.13."
"Which source told you there was only one abandoned kitten in there?" Jiang Ruolan asked shortly after.
She couldn’t help but feel the survey team was unreliable. After all, the difference between one and dozens was not small.
"Uh..."
Director Chen was about to answer when the Production Team brought two first-aid kits to dress the wounds on Qin Mo and Guo Zhenyu.
"Make sure to disinfect the wounds. Brother Qin and Brother Guo might also need a rabies shot to be on the safe side of things," Lin Haoren suggested.
"A rabies shot?" Qin Mo and Guo Zhenyu were both startled.
They joined the variety show to rescue animals and make some money and fame. Never would they imagine that they could also lose their lives.
Rabies was no small matter. Once the symptoms appeared, it was 100% fatal.
They definitely need that rabies shot.
"Yes, the furry ninjas in Qingshan Warehouse No.13 were very aggressive and violent. They attacked us the moment we met," Lin Haoren explained.
Of course, he didn’t believe the feral felines had rabies. After all, they did stop chasing once everyone left the warehouse.
Rabid felines wouldn’t have stopped chasing.
Even so, it was always better to err on the side of caution. People only had one life.
Who would want to gamble with their life?
"What a disaster..." Director Chen sighed, feeling regretful about the show.
Just when things were looking good, they suffered such a terrible mishap. The discrepancy in the on-site information was a little too big.
Didn’t the Production Team clear some of the areas a few days ago? Why did so many kittens suddenly appear? Where did they come from?
Director Chen was puzzled by this.
"Director Chen!" He Yuxin suddenly jumped to her feet and cried in realization, "The other team is still inside the warehouse! They are still in danger!"
"Oh no!"
The faces of everyone on the Production Team paled in horror.
Team Retirement Home only entered the warehouse for a short while, yet Qin Mo and Guo Zhenyu suffered so badly.
How much worse a state would Team Youth Squad be in if they still hadn’t left the abandoned warehouse?
