Chapter 136: An Out-of-This-World First Live Stream
It was 8 PM, a time when countless bored netizens were online, looking for some digital content to kill time with.
To their surprise, Brother of Special Skills, who usually only posted pre-recorded videos, had actually started a livestream. A horde of fans and curious onlookers began flooding into the livestream.
“Front row~”
“First!”
“Holy shit! I’ve seen it all! Brother of Special Skills is actually livestreaming! (Shocked)”
“What’s with this title? Is he trying to start a flame war with the entire internet? (Curious)”
“He probably got swarmed by the anti-fraud trolls and is just trying to ride the hype train for views now. (Laugh-cry emoji)”
The number of viewers in the stream began to slowly increase, and the scrolling comments became more frequent.
Chen Jue glanced at the viewer count. Over 1,000 people were watching right after he started. ‘Looks like the popularity I’ve built up recently isn’t too bad,’ he thought. ‘Most of my 800,000-plus followers across the web must be real people, not many bots.’
As the viewer count climbed past 2,000, Chen Jue cupped his fist to the camera in a salute. Without a word, he sat cross-legged on his apartment floor, picked up a sewing needle threaded with white string, and flicked it toward a black banner hanging in the distance.
The flying needle and thread flashed across the camera’s view, leaving only a faint trail. Many of the new viewers had no idea what Brother of Special Skills was doing, and they filled the public chat with question marks, impressed but confused.
“???”
“Huaxia Martial Arts? Is that it?”
“What kind of fancy trick is this?”
“I don’t really get it. (Confused Nick Young meme) All I see is Brother of Special Skills shooting a threaded needle at that black cloth.”
“But this Flying Needle technique is seriously impressive. He’s hitting the cloth from several meters away. It’s way better than those guys breaking bricks with an Inch Fist. (LMAO)”
“I feel like I could do that too. (Skeptical)”
Waves of curious onlookers and fans of Brother of Special Skills entered the livestream, and waves of them left.
At first glance, Chen Jue’s special performance tonight wasn’t as visually stunning or instantly impactful as his previous edited short videos.
However, some wealthy patrons who knew what they were seeing immediately started spamming gifts in the chat the moment they saw Chen Jue’s technique of flicking the Flying Needles.
“Awesome! (Voice crack)”
“He’s definitely possessed by Dongfang Bubai! (Worshipping)”
“Brother of Special Skills, did you practice the Sunflower Manual or the Exorcism Sword Manual? (Joking emoji)”
“Is he planning to do embroidery from across the room with Flying Needles? (Shocked)”
All sorts of playful comments started to appear frequently. Spurred on by the gift donations, the platform began directing more traffic to Chen Jue’s livestream.
More and more netizens flooded into the livestream. The viewer count shot up from just over 2,000 at the start to over 100,000, quickly landing him on the trending list for livestreams.
Chen Jue, however, wasn’t paying much attention to the scrolling comments, the heart-shaped likes, or the gift donations on his phone screen.
He was completely focused, pushing his Perfection Level [Hidden Weapon Throwing] skill to its absolute limit, transitioning from flicking needles with one hand to using both hands simultaneously.
His technique for flicking the sewing needles grew more and more practiced, his speed increasing with every shot.
The dense web of white trails from the Flying Needles constantly appearing on screen left the viewers utterly dumbfounded!
“Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit!”
“What the hell is that rate of fire?! (Staring wide-eyed)”
“Did Brother of Special Skills swallow a Gatling gun? It’s going DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA and spitting blue fire! (Shocked)”
“Storm of Pear Blossoms! That’s the Storm of Pear Blossoms Needle, a Hidden Weapon Technique! I’ve only ever read about it in novels, I can’t believe it’s real!”
“Awesome-Plus! Now *this* is real Huaxia Martial Arts!”
“To hell with breaking bricks with an Inch Fist! I’m so fucking sick of that stuff! (Let’s gooo!)”
Seeing this unbelievable Flying Needle technique, the wealthy fans became frenzied, as if they’d been shot up with adrenaline, and started frantically spamming gifts.
Rainbows, Meteor Showers, Yachts, Sports Cars… even Carnivals started to appear.
Everyone had grown numb from being deceived by fake masters, and with the current trend of debunking Traditional Martial Arts being so popular, it was rare to see a streamer like Brother of Special Skills who cut the crap and got straight to the hardcore action. All these patrons were now competing to be his number one supporter.
Spurred on by this frenzy of gifts, the stream’s popularity soared. The viewer count skyrocketed from over 100,000 to over 500,000, at one point breaking into the top 10 on that night’s livestream rankings!
Half an hour into the stream, more and more beads of sweat appeared on Chen Jue’s hands. As the tall pile of sewing needles in front of him began to shrink, the pattern on the hanging black banner finally started to transition from a blurry outline into something clear and visible.
And at that moment, the 500,000-plus netizens and fans watching the stream all saw the pattern on the banner clearly!
It was an incredible image composed of three words and an exclamation mark, meticulously outlined from nothing by Chen Jue with one white-threaded Flying Needle after another!
When Chen Jue finished the final exclamation mark with his very last needle, the stream’s comment section lost all control and completely exploded!
Every single netizen watching went wild when they saw the three words on the banner. They all began to spam the same, blood-pumping phrase in the public chat, creating a unified wall of text.
“Your instruction, please!”
“Your instruction, please!”
“Huaxia Martial Arts requests your instruction!”
