Evolution Begins with Elemental Domination
Chapter 224 119: All-New Power, an Item from the Embers of Civilization
Stats: Power 35 / Physique 47 / agility 26 / Intelligence 25 / Perception 23
Body Traits: Vitality Burst, Steel Bones and Iron Flesh
'With my current physical foundation, I should be stronger than Wolverine.'
Su Chen wasn't sure if his Vitality Burst trait was as powerful as a healing factor.
However, influenced by movies and Ruoruo, he knew he couldn't afford any severe damage to his head, even if he possessed traits that could regenerate limbs and reshape organs. Memory loss was a secondary concern; the small spiritual tree rooted in the soil of his Sea of Consciousness couldn't withstand such devastation.
Seven minutes later, Su Chen walked out, draped in a bath towel.
He had just sat down by the large bed when Yan Ruoruo took a dry towel and began to gently dry his hair. The pressure from her fingertips as she massaged his scalp was incredibly comfortable.
Accompanied by the gust of hot air, she picked up the hairdryer and carefully dried his wet hair.
"Let's get some sleep," Su Chen said placidly, his eyes closed in contentment.
'The altar will probably be rebuilt by the time the sun rises tomorrow. According to our agreement, we'll head to the fissure zone first thing in the morning to continue exploring the cave. Even though it's only 8:30 PM, there's nothing to do on this freezing night. We can't even pick up the official broadcast anymore. Going to sleep early is the best option.'
"Mhm."
Yan Ruoruo replied softly.
The night was long.
A quiet night passed.
.....
「The next day.」
At six o'clock, the Ice Element star trail had long since disappeared. Under the first rays of sunlight, the temperature had already risen to -3°C.
Su Chen was already awake and warming up with his morning exercises outside.
Inside the RV, Yan Ruoruo slowly turned over on the cab-over bunk. The person who had been beside her was long gone, leaving only a patch of lingering warmth.
She raised her slender wrist, pressed the small diamond bracelet to the spot between her eyebrows, and a clear, cold Spiritual Light rippled out from it.
Once her mind was clear, Ruoruo didn't linger. Her tall, graceful figure swung lightly down from the high bunk, her bare feet touching the cool floor.
She walked to the rear of the RV, stripped the wrinkled sheet from the large bed, and bent down to pick up a few undergarments scattered on the floor. She tossed them all into the washing machine, then threw a ripped stocking into the trash.
Ruoruo glanced at the time and decided to take a quick hot shower while she had the chance.
By the time she emerged from the RV, fresh and clean and wearing a black windbreaker, a fragrant aroma was already drifting from the center of the camp. On a dining table, a pot of Red Millet porridge was steaming, and next to it on an iron plate was sliced and pan-fried venison.
Ms. Cheng knew their schedule, so as the group's chef, she had naturally gotten up early to start working.
"My wife and I will head back to the city later to change our classes. We'll try to be back before tonight," Liao Dahai said.
The cave environment was too dangerous, possibly even more troublesome than the Bloodthirsty Fungus. At his current power level, without having changed his class, he really couldn't keep up with the rest of the team.
Furthermore, the appearance of Oran City gave him a strange sense of crisis.
Without a doubt, the core hub of all of Dongfu City was the Rune structure on the southern border.
If a conflict really broke out, that borderland would be the target of a precision siege. If the Sanctuary of Inheritance collapsed, those who hadn't managed to change their class would be left high and dry. What would happen then, if second or third class advancements appeared later on?
Setting aside distant, hypothetical enemies, the camp was starting to see a reflux of people, which would inevitably bring some instability to this peaceful place.
"Alright."
Seeing this, Su Chen naturally had no objections. He simply gave the couple three Lv4 Runes and several smaller runes. One of them, a Treant Summoning rune, was a "sponsorship" to encourage Ms. Cheng Yuexin to consider switching from a Life Warlock to a Summoner.
This gave them another option to weigh.
The rest of the Rune Essence was meant as funds for him to purchase useful runes and items from the Rune Store and weapon workshops.
There was no need for Decomposition Stones, though.
He still hadn't used the six he'd obtained.
Thanks to the Bloodthirsty Fungus, he had accumulated eleven portions of Spiritual Dust Sand.
"Just use your own judgment. If you see anything that could benefit the camp's construction, just buy it."
Su Chen was very easygoing about it and had no specific requests. There might even be new goods in stock today, so he let him have free rein.
Twenty minutes later.
After finishing breakfast, the group immediately split up and set off. Gong Jun remained behind as logistics support, patiently carving the rifling for a handgun. As was his custom, Su Chen also set up several additional shadow veils around the camp.
Before they departed, the temperature had already reached 5°C.
The Red Millet porridge and venison brought a warming heat to their bodies, so no one felt the slightest chill as they flew through the forest.
What was most eye-catching was Su Chen's low-altitude glide, like a phantom detached from reality. He was difficult to track with Perception, his form fading and disappearing from time to time, then flashing forward in disjointed movements.
This was clearly his new ability.
Pang Peng, on the other hand, simply transformed into a Cyan Bird and swiftly soared over the forest canopy. Yu Ziyuan had her own unique method, having her Wind Spirit envelop her in Wind Fluff to carry her comfortably forward.
Before long, the group arrived at the fissure zone. A brand-new altar structure stood on the cliff's edge, just as before.
After interacting with it via consciousness, however, the content of the presented quest had changed.
In addition to 'Cave Dwellers,' 'Ashen Bud Flower,' and 'Nether Sand Ore,' the sacrifice list now included two new major items: one was 'Blood and Flesh Contaminated Creatures,' and the other was called 'Item of Civilization's Embers.'
The latter two were not clearly defined.
"'Mine says "Item of Civilization's Legacy,"' Su Chen stated, adding that this kind of translation difference was a common issue. Rune information was interpreted and translated based on an individual's own cognition and understanding.
