Chapter 50: Old Friends, New Grudges

  • Next Chapter

The person standing there was none other than Ye Wuxie.

When Long Feng was looking at him, at almost the same moment, Ye Wuxie’s gaze also landed on him.

His expression instantly changed, and disbelief flashed across his eyes.

He had never expected to see him alive.

But what shocked him even more was the fact that Long Feng had returned together with Su Qingxue.

His eyes narrowed. A trace of displeasure appeared in his gaze.

Long Feng naturally noticed the displeasure in his eyes.

But instead of caring, a bright smile appeared on his face and walked directly toward Ye Wuxie.

"Brother Ye!"

Ye Wuxie’s expression stiffened.

Long Feng approached as if they were old friends who hadn’t seen each other for years.

"Long time no see! Where have you been all this time?"

Ye Wuxie stared at him with strange expressions.

Did dying once somehow make this bastard lose his mind?

If someone does not know what happened between them, they will just think of them as old friends.

"You..." Ye Wuxie narrowed his eyes. His voice contained obvious displeasure, "What’s it to you? You are talking to me as if we are friends?"

"Why are you angry?"

Long Feng blinked innocently. He stepped closer and casually placed an arm around Ye Wuxie’s shoulder.

"Will you forget our friendship over that one old matter?"

But his words made Ye Wuxie’s face darkened. The matter of the stalactite was still fresh in his mind. Because of Long Feng, he had failed to obtain the stalactites he wanted.

However his shamelessness left him speechless.

Meanwhile, Su Qingxue stood nearby and looked at the two of them in surprise. She hadn’t expected them to know each other.

Seeing Long Feng behave so naturally, she couldn’t help wondering what kind of relationship the two actually had.

Long Feng noticed her expression.

"Oh, right."

He finally released Ye Wuxie’s shoulder and turned toward her.

"Senior Sister Su, let me introduce you. This is Ye Wuxie. An old friend of mine."

Old friend?

Ye Wuxie’s mouth twitched. He didn’t remember agreeing to such a relationship.

But Long Feng ignored his reaction and then looked toward Su Qingxue.

"And this is... Su Qingxue, my..." He deliberately paused. His eyes flickered with amusement, but facade a innocent and bashful smile. "Senior sister."

Su Qingxue’s expression became slightly nervous.

She didn’t know exactly what he was trying to do, but his style of talking could easily create misunderstandings.

Ye Wuxie’s expression, however, became even darker. If looks could kill, he would have murdered Long Feng countless times by now.

If she was just your senior sister, why are you blushing so much?

And does a person like you even have shame?

Although Ye Wuxie had met him only once, but even then he knew that Long Feng was a cruel and cunning person.

Long Feng saw his expression and almost laughed. He had no intention of openly provoking Ye Wuxie.

But seeing his increasingly ugly expression was simply too amusing.

"Senior Sister Su and I happened to meet in the mountains," Long Feng casually explained.

Su Qingxue nodded.

"Yes."

Ye Wuxie didn’t respond. His eyes remained fixed on Long Feng. After a few more words, he clearly had no desire to continue the conversation.

Long Feng didn’t force him. He turned toward Su Qingxue and deliberately called out lightly,

"Qingxue, let’s go."

Su Qingxue nodded. The two walked away together.

After spending several days together in the cave, their relationship had naturally become closer.

And she had already told him that since she wasn’t older than him and their cultivation was now the same, he could simply call her by her name.

Behind them, Ye Wuxie’s face became increasingly gloomy. His fists slowly clenched. He watched the two figures disappear into the distance. A faint trace of killing intent flashed through his eyes.

Even if their marriage was only in name, seeing this scene still made Ye Wuxie’s heart burn with irritation.

After walking for some distance, Su Qingxue suddenly stopped.

"Long Feng."

"Hmm?"

"I have to go to the Merit Hall."

"Then I’ll go with you." Long Feng replied without any hesitation.

"No need." Su Qingxue shook her head. Her expression became slightly heavy.

She hesitated briefly before continuing, "I have to report what happened during the mission. Two core disciples died there, so it will take some time. You should return first. I’ll come find you later if necessary."

Before Long Feng could respond, she turned around and walked toward the Merit Hall. Her speed was so fast, as if she was afraid Long Feng might stop her again.

Long Feng watched her departing figure, but didn’t call her. A faint smile appeared on his face.

What a faithful wife.

Although Ye Wuxie and Su Qingxue were husband and wife only in name, it seemed their relationship had still remained somewhat complicated.

And judging from Su Qingxue’s behavior, she still had some feelings toward Ye Wuxie.

The protagonist’s halo was truly troublesome.

Otherwise, how could a woman who had spent several days alone with him still maintain such a distance?

Long Feng’s smile deepened. He didn’t rush after her. Instead, he turned in another direction and slowly walked toward his residence.

After spending so many days in the wilderness, it was finally time to return to his own place.

Even more importantly, he had a feeling that his peaceful days in the sect wouldn’t last much longer.

After returning to his residence, Long Feng went directly into his room. He closed the door behind him and entered the private cultivation chamber.

Only then did the relaxed expression on his face disappear.

"It has been quite some time since I properly healed."

Although his injuries from the battle with Han Tianyu were not serious, he had deliberately slowed his recovery while staying with Su Qingxue.

Otherwise with his powerful physique, he could have recovered long before, even without taking healing pills.

But that would have ruined the image he had carefully created.

Now that he had returned, there was no reason to continue pretending.

Long Feng took out the Seven-Star Orchid he had obtained earlier and placed it in front of him.

"This should be enough."

The Seven-Star Orchid was a precious spiritual herb used as the main ingredient for a Fourth-Rank Pill, known as the Violet Vitality Pill. Fortunately, he had already obtained its pill formula from the Alchemist Library.

This was a healing pill capable of repairing internal injuries and restoring damaged vitality.

Long Feng immediately began refining it.

His spiritual flame rose from his palm. The Seven-Star Orchid slowly melted under the intense heat, releasing a rich medicinal fragrance throughout the cultivation room.

Long Feng remained completely focused. After nearly an hour, a faint medicinal fragrance suddenly spread through the room.

Buzz!

A purple pill slowly emerged from the cauldron and landed in his palm.

The surface of the pill was smooth, with faint purple patterns circulating around it. A satisfied smile appeared on Long Feng’s face.

"Not bad."

Without hesitation, he swallowed the Violet Vitality Pill.

Boom!

A powerful medicinal energy immediately exploded inside his body. But because of its healing properties, it had a very mild nature, so he had no problem refining it.

Long Feng quickly circulated his cultivation technique, guiding the medicinal energy through his meridians.

The injuries that had remained hidden beneath the surface were gradually repaired.

His damaged muscles recovered. His internal injuries disappeared. Even the slight wounds left behind by the previous battle were completely healed.

After some hours, Long Feng slowly opened his eyes. A sharp glint flashed through them.

"Let’s think about the next steps now."

He stretched his body and felt the powerful strength coursing through him.

His physique had already become considerably stronger after breaking through to the Golden Core Realm.

With his current condition, even ordinary fourth-rank healing pills would have been somewhat wasteful. But the Violet Vitality Pill had done exactly what he wanted.

Long Feng stood up and left the cultivation chamber. By the time he returned to his room, night had already fallen.

"Young Master."

A familiar voice immediately sounded. Xiao Ruo was standing inside the room. But Long Feng’s eyebrows rose when he noticed another person sitting nearby.

Cao Hua was sitting quietly beside the table. Seeing him enter, she immediately stood and bowed.

"Young Master."

Long Feng glanced at her before walking over and sitting down. Xiao Ruo immediately poured him a cup of tea.

Long Feng took a sip before looking at the two women.

"I’ve only been gone for several days. Why do I feel like I’ve been away for months?"

Xiao Ruo smiled. "Young Master, you’ve actually been gone for quite a while, almost twelve days."

"Twelve days?"

Long Feng raised an eyebrow. He hadn’t realized that so much time had passed.

Cao Hua smiled softly. "Young Master was busy with his affairs outside. It’s normal that you lost track of time."

Long Feng glanced at her. A strange smile appeared on his face.

"Speaking of being busy... Cao Hua, you’ve also been quite busy lately, haven’t you?"

Cao Hua’s smile stiffened slightly.

"What does Young Master mean?"

"I heard you’ve been spending almost all your time cultivating." Long Feng leaned back against the chair.

"You’re still trying to break through to the Spirit Condensing Realm, aren’t you?"

Cao Hua nodded.

"Yes."

Her expression became slightly serious.

"I don’t want to fall too far behind."

Long Feng chuckled. "So that’s why you don’t even have time to take care of my daily needs anymore?"

Cao Hua’s expression froze. While Xiao Ruo immediately covered her mouth, trying not to laugh.

Long Feng continued teasing her.

"Fortunately, I still have Xiao Ruo."

Cao Hua’s smile remained on her face, but her expression had clearly become somewhat stiff.
