Chapter 143: Obsidian Scale Beast’s Flame

The old man neither confirmed nor denied it immediately.

Elder Zixuan’s expression grew thoughtful. "His alchemy talent is sufficient. With proper guidance and access to the necessary resources, I am confident that he can reach the seventh rank within three years."

He paused, his brows drawing together. "However, his realm.."

Although he didn’t say but his meaning was clear. It’s just not need skills or guidance to increase someone’s alchemy rank.

To become a seventh-rank alchemist, one needs to possess sufficient cultivation, at least the Void Ascension Realm.

Even among the younger generation of our sect, only the most exceptional true disciples have a realistic chance of reaching such a realm.

Long Feng’s current cultivation is still far from it. Even with extraordinary talent, advancing through two major realms in three years is no ordinary feat.

The old man remained silent. For a moment, the only sound in the room was the faint rustling of leaves outside.

Then he spoke. "Then give him the resources necessary to achieve it, but I want the results."

"Understood, Teacher." Elder Zixuan’s heart stirred. He didn’t expect such answer from their side, but he followed wholeheartedly.

He was about to go when a voice stopped him.

"Wait."

With a casual flick of his hand, a small jade bottle flew across the room.

Elder Zixuan caught it instinctively. The instant his fingers touched the bottle, his expression changed.

Feeling the faint heat seeped through the jade, penetrating his palm, his eyes narrowed.

"This aura..."

He carefully examined the jade bottle, then looked toward his teacher in disbelief. "Teacher, could this be—"

"The Obsidian Scale Beast’s Flame."

Elder Zixuan’s fingers tightened around the bottle.

He had lived for countless years by the standards of ordinary cultivators, naturally encountered many strange flames, yet he could not hide the shock after seeing this flame.

It was a flame associated with a beast whose power could rival the Saint rank.

Even among flames of comparable power, this particular flame was renowned for its extraordinary rarity.

Elder Zixuan took a moment to steady himself before asking, "Teacher, are you giving this flame to Long Feng?"

"Who else would it be for?"

The old man’s voice remained as calm as before.

Elder Zixuan’s expression became complicated. Shock was the first emotion he felt. Then came disbelief, followed by an involuntary trace of envy.

He had been his teacher’s disciple for many years, but never received a flame of such extraordinary potential in past.

Yet now, his teacher was giving it to a young man who had only recently attracted his attention.

After a moment, he carefully placed the jade bottle away and bowed once again before disappeared into the night.

The next morning, Long Feng slowly stood up from the bed. Xiao Ruo was already dressed and standing beside him.

She had tidied her appearance, and her long black hair fell neatly over her shoulders, giving her an elegant and graceful appearance.

Her jade-like skin carried a faint translucent luster, while her delicate features and clear eyes gave her an almost ethereal beauty.

Even after spending so much time with her, Long Feng couldn’t help but look at her for another moment.

Xiao Ruo noticed his gaze and lowered her head slightly, a faint blush appearing on her cheeks.

"Master, why are you looking at me like that?"

"Nothing. I was just thinking that my little maid has become even more beautiful."

Long Feng smiled and reached out to straighten a stray lock of hair beside her cheek.

Xiao Ruo’s lips curved into a happy smile. She had already grown accustomed to his teasing, but hearing him praise her so directly still made her feel warm inside.

"Then I’ll take my leave first, Master. I still need some time to become familiar with my new strength."

"Go ahead. Don’t rush your cultivation. First, make sure you completely stabilize your foundation."

"Yes, Master."

After giving him a respectful bow, Xiao Ruo turned and left the room.

Long Feng watched her disappear before finally withdrawing his gaze.

The changes brought about by the Five-Element Nirvana Lotus were truly extraordinary.

These changes appeared to complement one another rather than leaving her with an unstable foundation.

’That lotus was worth far more than I initially imagined.’

Long Feng couldn’t help but feel a little regretful when he remembered how casually he had used such a precious treasure.

Although his own talent was already exceptional, he now wondered whether the lotus might have brought him some additional benefits as well.

Still, there was no point dwelling on it. He had already made his decision, and seeing Xiao Ruo’s transformation had at least confirmed that the treasure’s effects were genuine.

However, just as he was about to put away his thoughts, he remembered this was not the only treasure he had obtained so far.

He immediately reached into his storage ring and searched through the items inside.

After a short while, a small golden leaf appeared in his hand.

This is the same flying-in-air leaf whose origin he couldn’t identify.

’What exactly is this thing? Some treasure like Five-Element Nirvana Lotus!’

But there was a difference between wanting and happening.

Ye Wuxie had obtained many things during his adventures, and there was no guarantee that every item in his possession was useful.

He watched it for a moment, his expression becoming thoughtful.

’Could it be a special medicinal ingredient?’

The idea reminded him of the Five-Element Nirvana Lotus.

If this leaf possessed similarly extraordinary properties, perhaps he could refine its essence and absorb it to obtain some unexpected benefits.

After all, he had already witnessed how dramatically a rare spiritual treasure could transform a person’s foundation.

If he could discover the leaf’s function, he might find another opportunity to improve himself.

The thought was tempting.

Long Feng raised his hand, and the Chaos Swallowing Cauldron appeared before him.

Its dark surface reflected the light faintly as it floated in the air, and a trace of black flame emerged from within.

He guided the leaf toward the cauldron, preparing to examine how it responded to the flame.

Yet just as he was about to begin, his movement suddenly stopped.

He didn’t know what it was nor its medicinal properties.

If it contained some unknown poison or an energy that conflicted with his cultivation, refining it and consuming the resulting essence might cause serious problems.

The Chaos Swallowing Cauldron could help him refine many things, but that didn’t mean it could make every unknown substance safe for consumption.

Long Feng’s expression gradually became serious.

Using an unknown treasure on someone else is one thing. Using it on myself is another.

He had already experienced the strange circumstances of transmigration once. He had no intention of gambling with his life over a leaf whose purpose he couldn’t even identify.

What if he died after consuming it?

Would he transmigrate into another world again?

Or would everything simply end there?

He had no way of knowing. The thought alone was enough to extinguish his earlier excitement.

"Forget it. I shouldn’t be so impatient."

Long Feng waved his hand, and the leaf returned to his palm.

He carefully stored it away, followed by the Chaos Swallowing Cauldron, which disappeared into his body.

He could investigate the leaf later. Perhaps he would discover something about it in an ancient record, or perhaps he could ask someone with greater knowledge of rare spiritual plants.

There was no need to risk his life without understanding what he was dealing with.

After putting the matter aside, Long Feng adjusted his clothes and left his residence.

There was another matter he needed to attend to.

Elder Zixuan had summoned him previously, and given the elder’s unusual background and extraordinary alchemy skills, Long Feng was naturally curious about what he intended to discuss.

He moved through the sect’s core area and soon arrived at the mountain where Elder Zixuan resided.

The surrounding spiritual energy was as dense as ever. Rare medicinal herbs grew across the mountain slopes, and several formations silently protected the entire region.

Even without deliberately sensing them, Long Feng could feel the extraordinary power hidden within those formations.

He landed before the familiar courtyard.

Before he could announce his arrival, a young man wearing core disciple robes emerged from a nearby building.

Upon noticing Long Feng, he immediately approached and bowed respectfully.

"Greetings, Senior Brother Long. Elder Zixuan has been waiting for you."

"Then please lead the way." Long Feng nodded.

The disciple turned and led him through the courtyard toward the inner residence.

Soon, they arrived before a spacious hall. The disciple stopped at the entrance and bowed once more.

"Senior Brother Long, Elder Zixuan is inside."

Long Feng thanked him before stepping forward.

The moment he entered, he noticed Elder Zhixuan standing in the spacious alchemy room, dressed in his usual red robes.

Several jade boxes lay arranged on a nearby table, while a massive cauldron occupied the center of the room. The temperature inside the room was noticeably higher than outside, yet the spiritual energy was unusually stable.

Long Feng’s eyes immediately fell upon the cauldron.

It was not the same ordinary vessel he had used during his previous demonstration. Its surface was covered in intricate patterns, and faint traces of flame energy flowed through its inscriptions.

Just standing near it gave him a sense of pressure.

However, before he could examine it more closely, Elder Zixuan spoke.

"You’re here at the right time. Watch carefully. Today I’m going to sow you real skills of a Eight Rank Alchemist Grandmaster."

Hearing what’s gonna happens, Long Feng’s ears perked as he immediately turned his attention toward the elder.
