Eternal Tale
Chapter 320: Our tribe must remember this name
"Blue Lion, come over for a chat."
Chen Xun''s eyes gleamed with interest as he lightly pointed forward. The Beast King''s body was completely out of control, sweat pouring down as it growled, "Senior!"
It approached Little Chi, its eyes filled with excitement yet deeply hidden fear.
Back then, that human was probably already in the legendary Divine Transformation phase, able to dominate the current world of immortals with a single hand.
"Moo~" Black Bull grinned. That night, it had threatened the big brother, and now they finally had him in their grasp.
"Don''t be afraid. I''m here to reason with the spiritual beasts of the Northern Territory. If reasoning doesn''t work..."
Chen Xun sat cross-legged on Little Chi''s head, pausing as if in thought, "Heh, Nascent Soul spiritual beasts should understand reason. Perhaps I''m overthinking."
A chill enveloped the Beast King''s heart as it bowed its head in reverence. In the distance, all the spiritual beasts bowed as well. Divine Transformation experts were said to be capable of obliterating everything with a single strike, a power they couldn''t even imagine.
"Did you escape from the Tian Duan chasm back then? And some spiritual beasts came from Da Li through teleportation, right?"
"Reporting to Senior... it seems... it should be... yes.""Moo moo moo~~"
"Senior, this is the foundation of our survival in the Northern Territory. It cannot be taken!"
The Beast King suddenly raised its head to look at the Black Bull, its features slightly twisted, its voice quite shrill, "This is our sacred stone, passed down through generations."
Black Bull let out a light moo, having only mentioned it casually, with no intention of taking anything.
Chen Xun waved his hand with a smile, "We have no intention of competing for a mere Destruction Stone. You needn''t overthink it."
Deep within the Northern Territory, that eerie mountain was indeed a massive Destruction Stone. Those Elemental Infant cultivators back then were indeed obliterated by this stone.
These spiritual beasts already knew how to use it, thanks to the innate talents of Little Chi''s clan.
However, this Beast King clearly had mixed bloodlines. It seemed that over the years, the spiritual beasts that had fled here were gradually declining, becoming a complete mishmash.
"Roar roar!" Little Chi also let out a low roar, eyes full of coldness.
Black Bull took in Little Chi''s expression, his bull eyes rolling a few times, not thinking further.
"Ancestor... don''t you remember us?"
The Beast King''s eyes reddened, meeting Little Chi''s gaze, "We are of the Flaming Red Ancient Lion clan, hunted to this place by humans."
Its bloodline hummed, in submission, for only Little Chi''s bloodline was the purest of the Flaming Red Ancient Lions.
The world fell silent, even the beastly roars vanished.
The dust of time mixed with frost, withering hope. The vast snow of the world fell, causing the beasts'' hearts to tremble.
Little Chi stood on the glacier, slowly taking a step back, speaking in a deep voice, "I know, Brother Xun won''t harm you."
At this moment, a few young lions ran over from afar, looking at Little Chi with reverence and hope in their eyes.
The Northern Territory was too bitterly cold, unsuitable for spiritual beasts to cultivate, yet they continued to live here for generations, all to repay the great kindness of the Bai Li clan from years ago.
"Ancestor, now that you''ve returned, will the humans of the distant world of immortals no longer hunt us?"
The Beast King''s four claws gripped the ice tightly, its face filled with myriad emotions, "I wonder if we... can return... to our clan?"
Its words trembled and paused, suddenly prostrating on the ground, losing the majesty of the Northern Territory''s Beast King.
"I..."
Little Chi''s eyes were filled with shock as it looked towards the distant glacier, where more and more spiritual beasts were gathering, all prostrating in submission.
For a moment, it didn''t know what to say, nor did it have the ability to promise them anything.
"Roar~" Little Chi let out an inexplicable low roar, retreating two more steps. If they were to return to Da Li, it wouldn''t be easy.
The Flaming Red Ancient Lion clan no longer had a true clan, scattered across the world, hiding and fleeing, even its kin had died one by one before its eyes.
Little Chi''s pupils trembled slightly, unsure of how to tell the many spiritual beasts here the truth.
The Beast King looked desolate, the ancestor''s expression said it all. They probably could never return to their clan. It had just been too emotional, speaking out of turn.
But seeing the ancestor return was already enough for them. The Beast King''s face twisted into an awkward smile, about to speak.
Suddenly.
"Of course, the Flaming Red Ancient Lion clan is under my protection. The vast world of immortals in Da Li is yours to roam."
A grand and majestic voice suddenly echoed through the heavens and earth, carrying unparalleled dominance, freezing the wind and snow in an instant.
"Moo moo!"
"Brother Xun!"
"...Senior?"
Roar!
Roar!
The entire Northern Territory trembled. The spiritual beasts of Da Li looked up to the sky, towards the gray-clad man who spoke, his aura overwhelming the heavens and earth!
Chen Xun stood with one hand behind his back, his gaze solemn, "You needn''t worry. The name of the Flaming Red Ancient Lion will be borne by me. Who dares to bully you?!"
The mighty voice reverberated for thousands of miles, leaving all the spiritual beasts in the Northern Territory dumbfounded. Barbarian cultivators emerged from their cave abodes, stunned.
The terrifying aura caused endless ice crystals to dance in the air, dazzlingly beautiful.
Little Chi''s massive head looked towards Chen Xun, who had risen into the air. That towering figure said it all, its body trembling slightly.
Black Bull looked at Chen Xun with a simple gaze, filled with nothing but admiration. Big brother was indeed big brother.
Little Chi took a deep breath, its abdomen still heaving slightly, and let out a long howl, "Indeed, that is Brother Xun. Why aren''t you all paying your respects?!"
"Greetings, Brother Xun!!"
Roar!
Roar!!
...
The clamor was earth-shattering, the spiritual beasts of the Northern Territory howled to the sky, prostrating in worship, with the Beast King''s voice the loudest, making Chen Xun''s scalp tingle.
"The one on my head is Brother Bull!"
"Greetings, Brother Bull!!"
Roar!
Roar!!
...
The glacier shook, and the resounding roars came from all directions, quite spectacular. Black Bull let out a long breath through its nose, shaking its head everywhere.
Its eyes were somewhat excited. The scene of thousands prostrating in welcome to the Bull Ancestor, as big brother had once mentioned, was finally realized, even if it was thousands of beasts now.
"Moo~~~!"
A mighty moo resounded, Black Bull''s eyes full of laughter. All the spiritual beasts and barbarian cultivators heard the response, and the entire Northern Territory erupted.
Little Chi''s eyes harbored a multitude of complex emotions, merely lowering its head to look at the Northern Territory''s Beast King.
Chen Xun glanced at the ground, speaking calmly:
"Blue Lion, let''s talk in your cave abode first."
"Yes, Senior."
The Beast King let out a low growl, exuding a kingly aura all over, seemingly more imposing than Little Chi at first glance.
It then dispersed the spiritual beasts from all sides, bringing a few barbarian elders into the cave abode to offer Chen Xun spiritual herbs from the Northern Territory as a sign of respect.
For five consecutive days, Chen Xun and his companions did not leave the Northern Territory. Black Bull was setting up a hidden large-scale teleportation array here.
Little Chi resumed transporting materials, occasionally conversing with the Beast King, but each time its eyes were somewhat heavy after the talks.
Chen Xun, on the other hand, had lively conversations with the barbarian cultivators, who gifted him over a dozen ancient books detailing their racial history, which Chen Xun treasured greatly.
