Chapter 1029: Childhood breezes

The old beggar swatted them away, sending them flying eight hundred miles, saying that only Wuhen could collect this debt, and he was sure to succeed.

If Xinghan and the others went, they probably wouldn't even get past the outskirts and might end up being chased for thousands of miles. As for why, the old beggar only said one thing:

"They're too ugly!"

So Qian Wuhen came to collect the debt. The reason he was so imposing was because his father had once taught him how to collect debts: the momentum must be precise and fierce, say nothing, and give them a cold stare to let them understand:

"If you don't pay up, I'll just live in your house!"

As Qian Wuhen and Han Xuan drew closer, the atmosphere gradually became subtle.

Their gazes met involuntarily, but Qian Wuhen's steps did not stop. As he walked past her, he nodded unconsciously, and memories from the past flooded his mind.

Han Xuan was taken aback, her eyes showing extreme surprise as she exclaimed, "Wu, Wuhen Brother?!"

"Han Xuan..."

Qian Wuhen turned his head and slowly stopped, his heart also shaken. After a long silence, he finally spoke, "I didn't expect you to still be in the Sky-Supporting Sect. It's been a long time."

Han Xuan smiled slightly, her eyes filled with relief and ease. "I didn't expect Wuhen Brother to have embarked on the path of immortality, and even more so, to meet you here."

"Hehe, it's quite the coincidence." Qian Wuhen had become much more composed, a slight smile appearing at the corner of his mouth. "I came to the Sky-Supporting Sect to handle some matters for my master. I didn't expect to encounter you here."

"How have you been all these years?" Han Xuan asked with a light smile, like an old friend meeting on the road after many years, exchanging a few casual words.

"Not bad." Qian Wuhen replied softly, "I once dueled with a Unity cultivator and didn't fall behind within a hundred moves."

Hearing this, Han Xuan's eyes brightened, and she pretended to appraise Qian Wuhen with a glance, smiling, "As expected of Wuhen Brother, always so impressive since childhood. Even after stepping onto the path of immortality, you're still as formidable as ever."

Her words were genuinely sincere, truly happy for Qian Wuhen's achievements in the immortal path.

"And you?" Qian Wuhen pondered and asked, "How have you been these years?"

"I've reached the Void Refinement phase, but I'm facing some bottlenecks in the early stage and can't break through for now." Han Xuan thought seriously and shook her head, "I'm certainly not as formidable as Wuhen Brother."

"That's not what I meant." Qian Wuhen smiled wryly, "I meant, how have you been in the Sky-Supporting Sect all these years?"

Upon hearing this, Han Xuan's expression didn't change much, but her smile deepened, "I found a good master and a Dao companion in the sect, and we have a daughter who is now in the Elemental Infant phase."

"This place is my home now, and I'm doing well."

Her words were simple, but from the tone, she wasn't lying.

Qian Wuhen's eyes brightened slightly, "I didn't know you were married. It's a pity I missed the banquet, haha."

"Wuhen Brother, remember how you loved banquets as a child? Even after stepping onto the path of immortality, you haven't changed?"

"Indeed!"

Qian Wuhen finally laughed out loud, no longer pretending to be a master outside the mountain gate, "I haven't had a banquet in the sect for years. Remember how we used to sneak candies together, making Huzi so mad."

"Hehe..." Han Xuan couldn't help but laugh, "You always took me on wild adventures back then, and whenever something happened, you were the first to protect me. Of course, I'd help you!"

"Hahaha..."

The two laughed outside the mountain gate, reminiscing about the many mischievous things they did as children. So many years had passed in the blink of an eye, and neither of them dwelled on the past anymore.

As Han Xuan laughed, her voice gradually softened. She once dreamed of being Wuhen Brother's little wife, but those thoughts had long faded, eroded by time.

As Qian Wuhen laughed, his voice also grew quieter. Han Xuan seemed to have changed so much over the years, yet she was still like that little girl who followed him everywhere, sharing everything with him.

But now she had a Dao companion and a child, and he shouldn't intrude too much.

"Han Xuan, my sister."

"Yes, Wuhen Brother." At the sound of "Han Xuan, my sister," her smile became even more radiant, and she glanced at Qian Wuhen one more time before looking away.

"I have to go handle some matters for my master, so I won't disturb you any longer."

"Wuhen Brother, go ahead." Han Xuan's expression turned serious, knowing that Wuhen Brother must have important matters to attend to, "I'm just waiting here for the sect disciples to return."

"Alright, Han Xuan, my sister, I wish you well."

"Wuhen Brother, you too."

They bid farewell with smiles in the gentle breeze, and the unpleasant past dissolved into nothingness with just a few words. They each had their own paths of immortality and lives to lead.

Qian Wuhen gently turned his head and walked toward the Sky-Supporting Sect's mountain gate, his steps slower than before.

Han Xuan also turned silently, saying nothing more.

Their figures gradually faded away outside the Sky-Supporting Sect's mountain gate. The many childhood memories had been reduced to a few brief words, and the breeze outside the gate...

"Mother~~" A young girl flew over from inside the mountain gate, waving and calling to Han Xuan. She resembled Han Xuan as a child, lively and spirited.

On the main road.

Qian Wuhen raised his eyebrows slightly, inadvertently glancing at the little girl, then quickly retracting his gaze, so fast that outsiders couldn't even notice he had done so.

Half an hour later.

He stepped into the Sky-Supporting Sect's mountain gate, but couldn't help turning back for one last look.

Yet outside the mountain gate, there was nothing left, only the slowly drifting fallen leaves.

Qian Wuhen's lips curled into a slight smile, finally revealing a hint of relief, and he turned to walk into the Sky-Supporting Sect's mountain gate.

Inside the mountain gate.

Qian Wuhen looked around and took a deep breath, secretly marveling at the grandeur of these formal immortal sects.

Whoosh!

As he stood there, two elders with the demeanor of immortals descended from the sky, both wearing green robes, with youthful faces despite their white hair. They were the 'Human Affairs Venerable,' Grand Elder Huangfu Duyan, and the 'Special Effects Venerable' appointed by Ancestor Chen Xun—Qiu Li.

The two elders squinted slightly, a look of confusion flashing in their eyes. They knew who this was, but hadn't heard any word from the Five Aggregates Sect... that this little ancestor was coming?

Huangfu Duyan descended gracefully, exuding exceptional poise. After that incident years ago, he had found a Heavenly Origin Dao Pill on his way back to his cave abode, a fortuitous encounter.

He nonchalantly put it away, silently thanking the Dao Ancestor for the gift!

This old fellow was quite savvy, personally overseeing the mundane affairs of the Kingdom Qian, organizing everything meticulously. It's no wonder he could hold the position of grand elder, with a Dao heart that was clear and perceptive.

He cleared his throat, speaking with great authority, "Who is the young man at the foot of the mountain? Why have you come to our Sky-Supporting Sect?"
