Eternal Life: My Talents Can Refresh
Chapter 888 - 365: Secrets from Ten Thousand Years Ago (Part 2)
After completing these tasks, the next comprehension of array formations began.
With arrays one after another, at first, Cen Zijin was slightly slower than Chu Ning, but basically managed to keep up.
However, their Divine Senses aren’t at the same level.
As time passed and their Divine Sense consumption increased, Cen Zijin’s speed noticeably slowed down.
Upon comprehending the fifth array formation, Cen Zijin had to stop to restore her Divine Sense.
Seeing this, Chu Ning also took out several pills and the Leafless Flower for Cen Zijin.
To help the other party restore her Divine Sense.
Cen Zijin, having grown accustomed to the various treasures Chu Ning possessed, accepted this naturally.
She immediately consumed the pills Chu Ning provided and began to sit in meditation to restore her Divine Sense.
Meanwhile, Chu Ning continued his array formation comprehension.
Seeing Chu Ning comprehend array formations one after another without any pause,
Cen Zijin couldn’t help but display a look of surprise.
"My Divine Sense is considered strong within the sect. Although I’m only in the Early Stage of Golden Core, it can completely match the Divine Sense of a Middle Stage Golden Core Cultivator in the sect.
But Chu Ning’s Divine Sense, even comparing it to the Golden Core Late Stage, exceeds even when my master reached the Golden Core Late Stage Peak, preparing to break into Nascent Soul."
Yet, recalling the various Divine Techniques Chu Ning displayed, even capable of killing Nascent Soul Cultivators, she couldn’t help but smile and shake her head.
Chu Ning was not an ordinary Golden Core Cultivator.
Neither knew how many days had passed, but finally, all thirty-six array formations were completely comprehended by the two.
Originally planned for each to comprehend half, but naturally, that was unlikely. Cen Zijin only comprehended nine array formations.
The remaining twenty-seven arrays were all comprehended by Chu Ning, etched onto a Jade Scroll.
Subsequently, the two wandered around the other stone chambers within this cave mansion.
They did find some materials for setting up arrays, albeit not many.
Chu Ning and Cen Zijin didn’t mind much.
After all, with the thirty-six array formations and the comprehension of the Nascent Soul cultivator embedded within, they had already gained greatly.
Exiting the cave mansion turned out to be straightforward.
Having already grasped the Cloud Star Array, Chu Ning led Cen Zijin outward, his speed even surpassed Bai Ling.
The two returned to outside the cave mansion.
Chu Ning just stared at the barrier between the eighth and ninth layers with a thoughtful expression on his face.
Not in a hurry to have Bai Ling take them inside.
Chu Ning extended his hand slowly, gathering a ball of white light in his palm, and touched the restriction.
After a while, Chu Ning withdrew his hand.
Seeing the contemplative expression on Chu Ning’s face, Cen Zijin couldn’t help asking:
"Is the array restriction you just comprehended one of those formations?"
Chu Ning nodded and said:
"Fortunately we didn’t let Bai Ling take us directly in.
The barrier between the ninth and eighth layers isn’t connected to the Elder Mountain’s arrays as the other layers are.
Instead, another array is set up, named the Celestial Profound Thunderfire Array.
This array is extremely intricate and highly destructive.
If Bai Ling had taken us directly in, we might have been attacked by the array right upon entry, possibly leading to the annihilation of both form and spirit."
Hearing this, Cen Zijin couldn’t help but feel a sense of lingering fear.
Chu Ning now stopped speaking, and began performing sealing techniques. He cast numerous spells, which landed on the restriction ahead.
Soon, the restriction revealed a humanoid passage.
"Zijin, stay close to me!"
Chu Ning’s expression was serious.
"Make sure not to stray, as this array’s attacks are so destructive that even a Nascent Soul cultivator might not be able to withstand them."
Upon hearing this, Cen Zijin immediately nodded, following Chu Ning cautiously into the large array.
Stepping into the grand array, the two instantly felt as though they were embedded in thunder and fire.
Below them was a raging sea of fire, while overhead was crackling thunder.
In front of them, there wasn’t any visible pathway, appearing as though stepping forward would lead to being struck down into the fiery abyss by the mighty Thunderbolt Power.
Seeing this, Chu Ning casually retrieved a high-quality artifact refining material from his Storage Bag and tossed it forward.
As soon as it was out, an arc of lightning, akin to a baby’s arm, struck down from above!
That tough artifact refining material was immediately reduced to dust under this assault.
The Thunderbolt Power was so formidable that even Chu Ning couldn’t help but change his expression.
Even though he had previously tempered his body with thunder in the Northern Cold Land, upon witnessing such formidable Thunderbolt Power, he couldn’t help but feel a slight shift.
He vaguely sensed that this lightning arc wasn’t the most powerful.
He turned and glanced at Cen Zijin, whose expression also shifted slightly, offering a comforting smile:
"It’s fine, follow me."
After speaking, Chu Ning paused for a moment.
He then took hold of Cen Zijin’s hand, decisively stepping forward into the fiery sea ahead.
Magically, as Chu Ning stepped into the fire, the flames beneath his feet scattered instantly.
A stone path appeared beneath him.
At this moment, Chu Ning didn’t move straight forward, but instead moved two yards to the left.
Simultaneously directing Cen Zijin to keep pace.
Changing directions and advancing for a while, Chu Ning finally faced a curtain of fire.
At this point, Chu Ning didn’t choose to proceed directly.
His hands formed sealing techniques, casting more spells upon it.
