Chapter 303: Chapter 201: Escape

Fang Yue scanned his surroundings, making sure he hadn’t missed anything.

But he felt something watching him from the shadows, a sensation that made the hair on his body stand on end, like needles prickling his back.

His brow furrowed as he scanned his surroundings again.

There were no more enemies here. Even the falcon that had been circling in the sky was now gone.

He was clearly the only one left, and all his enemies had been eliminated.

Yet, at this moment, he felt the danger growing even more intense.

’I can’t stay here long. I have to leave, and fast!’

Fang Yue took a deep breath, immediately changed direction, and continued east.

He didn’t know where that inexplicable sense of threat had come from, but he was sure it was from an enemy he couldn’t possibly fight. Lingering here would be suicide.

Soon, Fang Yue passed through the jungle and entered the mountains.

Then, he followed the direction he had set and broke into a sprint.

Fang Yue ran with incredible speed, like a hurricane tearing through, kicking up clouds of dirt and fallen leaves with a RUSTLING sound.

As he sprinted, Fang Yue remained vigilant, watching his surroundings.

But along the way, there was nothing unusual besides the swaying of tree branches.

Fang Yue relaxed slightly.

Then, he began to flee even more desperately.

「After the time it takes an incense stick to burn.」

He arrived near a lake.

~~~~~~~~
「A short while earlier, in a luxurious mansion within Sanshui County Town.」
"What? Who dares lay a hand on my son!" Wu Shengkui—one of the eight great masters under Prince Wucheng, ranked third, and respectfully known as the Great Power Celestial King—had a face that was ashen and twisted with rage.
Through the Sensing of their bloodline connection, he knew that his son, Wu Yong, was dead.
Wu Yong was his favorite son. Although he was a bit of a wastrel who had done many wicked things in his day...
...he was the most talented of his thirty sons, with the potential to reach the Transformation Realm, inherit his mantle, and become a new pillar of support for Prince Wucheng!
But now, Wu Yong was dead—murdered. How could he not be furious?
"Which bastard dared to kill my son!"
His eyes spat fire and his killing intent boiled over. An immense pressure instantly descended, blanketing everything.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The furniture in the room—the tables and chairs—instantly exploded, turning to dust that scattered across the floor.
Unable to withstand such might, the door was blown off its hinges, flying to one side with a dull THUD.
Immediately, he stomped his foot and shot into the sky, chasing in the direction where Wu Yong had met his end.
BOOM!
His speed was incredible. In the blink of an eye, he crossed dozens of miles and appeared outside a forest.
His eyes, sharp as lightning, swept across the forest.
Sure enough, he immediately spotted more than a dozen corpses lying at the edge of the woods.
They were Wu Yong’s subordinates.
Soon, he saw Wu Yong. His son had been dead for some time.
"No matter who you are, I will kill you today!"
Wu Shengkui roared at the heavens, his voice shaking the clouds.
Then, with a ferocious glint in his eyes, he leaped up and shot into the forest like a cannonball.
He sped off in the direction Fang Yue had fled.
Meanwhile, Fang Yue was looking at the lake before him.
The lake was situated halfway up the mountain. A clear spring flowed into it from above, then streamed out the other side, cascading down as a waterfall that fed into a great river below.
The last rays of the setting sun now fell upon the water, making the lake shimmer with a serene, sparkling light.
But Fang Yue’s mind was not on the lake at all.
At this very moment, he could feel the danger growing ever stronger.
He knew it must be because he had killed Wu Yong.
After all, Wu Yong’s father was one of the eight strongest masters under Prince Wucheng—a great expert of the Transformation Realm.
Prince Wucheng commanded a full eight experts in the Transformation Realm.
Moreover, each of them possessed their own unique ultimate arts, and every single one was terrifyingly powerful.
This was especially true of Wu Yong’s father, Wu Shengkui. His Martial Arts were unfathomably deep; he cultivated an ancient fist art, and his strength was extraordinary.
The Transformation Realm of the Martial Dao involved cultivating the body to change, allowing a human to house the power of a Demon Beast. This granted them many special abilities, and with a mere wave of their hand, they could unleash earth-shattering attacks.
Clearly, Wu Yong’s father was just such an expert.
Being targeted by an expert of this caliber was no small matter. Even someone like Fang Yue had to be extremely cautious.
’I have to leave now!’
The thought had barely crossed Fang Yue’s mind when he prepared to turn and leave.
However, at that very moment, a low roar suddenly echoed from behind him.
"You little bastard, where do you think you’re going!"
BOOM!
Before the words had even faded, the air itself seemed to explode with a howl of wind. A formidable, burly figure abruptly materialized, blocking Fang Yue’s path.
"Hm?"
Fang Yue stopped and looked up. Before him stood a towering middle-aged man, radiating a dense, murderous aura. One glance was enough to tell he was a ruthless character.
"You are... Celestial King Wu?" Fang Yue’s pupils contracted. He couldn’t help but gasp, the question escaping his lips.
Under Prince Wucheng, there were eight experts in the Transformation Realm: the Great Power Celestial King, the Vajra Divine General, the Silver Armor Celestial King, the Red-robed Demon Monk, the Purple Robe Dragon King, the Green-robed Snake Monarch, the Blue-robed Poisonous Woman, and Lady Bai Gu.
The battle records of these individuals were all exceptionally glorious. Each was a veteran who dominated battlefields, an existence that an army of a million soldiers would find difficult to stop.
Among them, the Great Power Celestial King’s strength was the most terrifying. It was said that he once split a mountain peak with a single palm strike and had nearly cleaved a river in two.
