Eternal Life: I Can Sell Everything

Chapter 506 - 475: Void Illusion Demon Beyond Control

  • Next Chapter

The Void Illusion Demon Sword appeared without a sound, a trace, or a form.

Song Ciwan merely lifted her hand and pointed. Despite being a master who dual-cultivated in both the Refining Spirit and Nascent Soul realms, the old woman across from her failed to perceive any mystery in the gesture.

The old woman frowned slightly. The next moment, a vague sense of dread washed over her.

She opened her mouth to speak. "You..."

Before she could finish the word, the dense, dark clouds on the cavern ceiling descended, cascading down with a great RUSH to completely envelop Song Ciwan’s position.

But at that moment, Song Ciwan had once again activated Upright Shadowless. While under its effects, she could neither move nor Attack, but in return, all attacks in the world were rendered useless against her.

Countless purple-black vines sprouted from the fallen, dark clouds. These vines bore sharp thorns and flowers. But when the flowers bloomed, they revealed not delicate pistils, but rows of menacing, sharp teeth.

A foul, dark-green slime hung between the sharp teeth. As it dripped onto the coiling vines below, the points of contact immediately smoked and SIZZLED!

The slime from these flowers could corrode even their own parent vines.

One could only imagine the horror that would unfold if these terrifying vines and their sharp-toothed flowers were to wrap around a human body.

But in reality, Song Ciwan had vanished into the Void under the protection of Upright Shadowless!

The vines, growing wildly, were thus unable to catch anything.

Like disoriented, monstrous snakes, the vines thrashed wildly throughout the cavern, zipping about at incredible speeds as they searched for their target.

Unable to find their target, the vines began to entangle one another, tying themselves into frantic knots.

The slime from the toothed flowers dripped incessantly, accompanied by a sizzling sound.

This all happened so quickly that Master Chen, beside the old woman, couldn’t react to what was going on at all.

Meanwhile, the old woman, struck by the Void Illusion Demon Sword, first frowned, then said angrily, "I can tell you are a master in your own right. Why do you hide the moment a battle begins? Cowering and only knowing how to dodge—it’s truly contemptible!"

The old woman’s taunts, however, were utterly wasted; Song Ciwan, who had vanished into the Void, gave no response.

In the cavern, the vines continued to twist and knot themselves in a frenzy. Thorns from one vine pierced the body of another, while the toothed flowers on a vine from above bit through a vine below...

Severed vines fell to the ground, where they spontaneously combusted and turned to charcoal.

But as some vines burned away, even more grew to take their place.

Then, they resumed their cycle of entanglement and self-destruction.

The pair of Flood Dragons formed by the Silver Flood Dragon Scissors rampaged through the cavern, charging back and forth. At times they sheared through the vines, at others their draconic bodies were splattered by the slime from the toothed flowers.

And so, sizzling sounds erupted from their bodies.

In just a few moments, the gleaming silver bodies of the twin dragons were covered in pitted, rotting wounds.

The scene was so chaotic it looked like a massive battle between several rival masters!

The truth, however, was that this entire chaotic battle was being orchestrated by the old woman alone.

The old woman’s face flushed with rage, her voice growing ever more furious. "Come out! Come out! What kind of master just hides? Is there any master who only knows how to dodge? You villain! Despicable! Shameless! If you have any courage, face me in a direct battle!"

As she screamed her curses, her pair of Silver Flood Dragons, moving too fast to turn in time, would occasionally slam into the cavern walls, making them tremble and RUMBLE.

The trembling walls posed no danger to the cavern itself, but rather to the old woman, who now seemed completely unhinged.

After all, this cavern could not be mined with external force. Unless one used the blood of the Spirit Star Race to excavate, not a single pebble would fall from its walls!

Not only would nothing fall, but upon impact, the cavern walls would generate their own reactive force.

VMMMM—

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Thus, as the Silver Flood Dragons slammed into the cavern, massive waves of reactive force slammed back into the old woman.

The old woman was still screaming curses, her language now like that of a common street thug, completely devoid of a master’s grace. "Villain! Vile fiend! Bitch! Coward! Hiding away, afraid of the light! May your feet grow sores and your head ooze pus... AARGH!"

Mid-curse, she suddenly cried out in pain.

The ever-increasing reactive force caused the cursing old woman to suddenly open her mouth and spray out a mouthful of dark red blood!

PTHOO!

Only when the old woman coughed up blood in agony did Master Chen, who had been cowering on his knees beside her, finally snap out of it.

His slow reaction was understandable; everything had happened far too quickly.

Not only was it fast, but every twist had seemed so... natural, so seamless.

Including the old woman’s fury and her madness.

In truth, even though Master Chen had begun to grasp the situation, he still couldn’t understand why the old woman had suddenly lost control and descended into madness.

After all, ever since she set foot on the Dao of the Golden Core—

Things had been fine during her Golden Core Stage. Back then, the old woman often spoke of immortal destiny and otherworldly charm. After she formed her Golden Core, her every move became increasingly imbued with an ethereal Immortal Energy, as if she were a true Immortal among mortals.

But after she reached the Nascent Soul realm, the old woman’s temperament gradually began to change.

She began to have occasional fits of temper. One moment, she would be impossibly gentle and kind; the next, she would turn hostile, becoming so sinister and terrifying that one’s scalp would tingle and body would freeze in place.

This happened back and forth countless times, and gradually, Master Chen had actually grown accustomed to the old woman’s instant mood swings.

Since he was used to these changes, he had naturally treated her earlier towering rage as nothing out of the ordinary.

It was only when that rage began to harm her that fear and panic abruptly seized Master Chen.

He straightened up slightly, reaching out a hand as if to support her. "Grandmother," he cried out in alarm, "you... what’s wrong? Grandmother, be careful! This cavern is dangerous!"

Before he could finish his cry, the old woman, who had been hunched over spitting blood, abruptly raised her head. A pair of crimson eyes, tinged with a faint bluish-black, locked onto Master Chen.

Master Chen’s spine instantly went rigid. He felt like a small, helpless creature being stared down by the most vicious predator in the jungle; an indescribable panic and terror seized his heart.

He swallowed hard and said cautiously, "Grandmother, I..."

The old woman opened her mouth, its corners slick with dark blood.

She let out a low, strange chuckle. "Heh heh heh... Chen’er... Zhang Chen... good boy. Which grandson of mine were you again?"

So, Master Chen’s real name was Zhang Chen.

Zhang Chen felt an indescribable, bone-deep chill creep up his spine, starting from his tailbone.

He didn’t know what was happening and could only rely on instinct, answering cautiously, "Grandmother, I am your twenty-third grandson, from the direct line of descent. My father is your sixth son. Grandmother, you don’t seem well. Perhaps you should rest for a moment?"

In the cavern, the Flood Dragons roared and the vines were caught in a cycle of birth and destruction.

The cacophony of rumbles and crashes continued its mad rampage, sounding like the drums of armageddon in Zhang Chen’s ears.

Zhang Chen’s placating words had no effect. While still spitting blood, the old woman suddenly raised her voice.
