Eternal Life: I Can Sell Everything
Chapter 393 - 372: The Stealth Race’s Void Door Opening
The bamboo raft drifted around a bend, and Yin Xunyi mentioned the marriage alliance between the Heir of Prince Yun and the Stealth Race.
Song Ciwan replied frankly, "Since the Heir of Prince Yun and the Third Princess are married, I imagine they must have been a harmonious match. Was there another reason? If you have some greater insight, Daoist Yin, I hope you will enlighten me."
Yin Xunyi shook his head with a chuckle. "Daoist Song, you truly give nothing away, heh heh..."
As he chuckled, he took another sip of wine before continuing, "The Stealth Race are a Heaven and Earth Alien Species, born with the form of a queen bee. In a single night, they can lay seventy-two hundred eggs, and each egg can communicate with heaven and earth. A Cultivator holding one of these eggs is guaranteed to receive a boost to their comprehension."
At this, Yin Xunyi clicked his tongue and sighed. "Comprehension... there’s just no rhyme or reason to it. Some people practice Cultivation their entire lives and may never have a single moment of enlightenment. The vast majority of Cultivators in the world are stuck at the Qi Transformation Stage; some can’t even reach Qi Cultivation."
As for Divinity Transformation, or anything higher, that’s even more out of the question. But the Golden Hawthorns produced by the Stealth Race don’t just work for Cultivators. Martial artists, scholars, Buddhist Practitioners—anyone who holds a Golden Hawthorn will experience a great surge in comprehension in a short amount of time.
If someone is trapped at a bottleneck, it’s not impossible for them to achieve a breakthrough because of it!
The Golden Hawthorn’s production is massive. They’re incredibly useful, whether for individuals, families, Sects, or even for the Dynasty. Tell me, Daoist Song, who wouldn’t covet such a treasure?"
Yin Xunyi turned his head to gaze at Song Ciwan.
He carried a rugged, world-weary air about him. The fine lines at the corners of his eyes made him look not so young. He could be thirty, or perhaps forty—then again, he could be older, or even younger.
After all, for those who practiced Cultivation, arts to preserve one’s youth were commonplace.
So for someone like Yin Xunyi, who was on the Ten Thousand Spirits Celestial Pride List and should be considered part of the younger generation, to have such a weathered face was rare.
His eyes, however, were quite distinctive. His irises were pitch-black, but a faint blue light shimmered from the depths of his pupils. When he focused his gaze, it was easy to fall under the mistaken impression that he was a man of deep feeling.
He had the kind of eyes that could gaze at a stray dog and make it seem like a profound romance.
Of course, Song Ciwan was not one to flatter herself. Her Dao Heart was firm. To her, his gaze was like a gentle breeze on a bright moon; it stirred neither fondness nor dislike, and once it passed, it left no trace behind.
Yin Xunyi’s mention of the Golden Hawthorns made Song Ciwan recall something. "At the wedding feast," she said thoughtfully, "the Eldest Princess did distribute a batch of Golden Hawthorns."
She did not directly mention the Third Princess laying eggs on the spot at her own wedding feast. That was a private matter, after all. Even if the Eldest Princess and Third Princess showed no intention of hiding it, Song Ciwan would never be so brazen as to blurt out "the Third Princess laid eggs at her wedding feast" in front of a stranger.
Just then, Yin Xunyi flipped his hand over, and a glittering golden pellet—a Golden Hawthorn—appeared in his palm.
The Golden Hawthorn shone with a brilliant, dazzling light. It was clearly one that had not yet been used.
Yin Xunyi bounced the Golden Hawthorn in his palm for a moment before quickly putting it away. "Precisely. Every guest at the feast received ten. I have ten right here. I presume you also have ten, Daoist Song?"
Song Ciwan nodded slightly. "Yes. I was fortunate to receive them."
’As for the fact that her Golden Hawthorns had all been used and subsequently tossed into the Heaven and Earth Scale to be sold, she would naturally not mention that.’
Yin Xunyi let out a wry laugh. "That batch of Golden Hawthorns the Eldest Princess distributed... I wonder if they were from a previous stock, or where they came from?"
He then added meaningfully, "The Stealth Race can only produce a batch of Golden Hawthorns once every ten years."
"Oh?" Song Ciwan replied. "That is interesting."
"Indeed," Daoist Yin said. "I never expected to stumble into the Stealth Race’s wedding feast, nor that they would be so generous as to treat their guests with so many Golden Hawthorns."
Song Ciwan’s attention was caught by his choice of words. "Stumbled into?" she asked, surprised. "You stumbled into the wedding feast as well, Daoist Yin?"
"Yes," said Daoist Yin. "To be honest with you, Daoist Song, I was in Liangzhou just yesterday. I was meeting a friend at night. After we parted, I was walking down a long alley when, somehow, I took a step and found myself at the wedding feast."
The experience was strikingly similar to her own. Song Ciwan was silent for a moment before telling him, "I see. Daoist Yin, the same thing happened to me last night."
Yin Xunyi chuckled. "The Stealth Race. The reason for their name isn’t just that they produce Golden Hawthorns and can naturally ’contain a universe in a grain of sand,’ but more importantly, their royal family possesses the ability of Void Door Opening."
"Void Door Opening?" Song Ciwan repeated.
Seeing she was unfamiliar with the concept, Yin Xunyi explained in more detail. "Yes. The Stealth Race doesn’t normally appear in the Mortal World. They live and grow in the cracks between dimensions, in the Void. They traverse the Void and can open doors anywhere, from impossible angles and in the most unexpected places."
’This ability,’ she thought, ’is many times more terrifying than my own Space Crossing.’
’No wonder it seemed like images from other spaces were constantly being transmitted to the wedding feast last night.’
’So the Wedding Manor last night was located within a crack in the Void itself!’
’The Grand Thousand Worlds, a tapestry of crisscrossing dimensions, countless spaces...’
’To be situated in a crack in the Void, able to monitor events all over the world at any time—’
’Although based on last night, the Stealth Race’s monitoring ability seemed somewhat unstable... but who’s to say if that instability was genuine, or just what they wanted their guests to see?’
’Even if it was genuinely unstable, the ability was still terrifying.’
