Chapter 377 362: Hui Dragons Pulling a Carriage, Fetching the Bride from the Void

  • Next Chapter

Song Ciwan and the Great Cyan God clinked their cups, drinking one after another.

After a few rounds of drinks, the banquet was in full swing.

The guests got to know one another, gathering in groups of three and five, forming smaller circles within the larger crowd.

The banquet was a cacophony of merry sounds: a Bear Demon beat a drum, puppets danced, and Spirit Fruit Immortal Brew was served in abundance. Amid the revelry, the sound of strings and flutes suddenly drifted from the horizon, floating and wavering as it drew near.

The music was like Immortal Music, both beautiful and festive, as if a bolt of soft silk were flying in from the distant sky.

At the wedding banquet, a welcoming boy shouted, "The groom has come for the bride!"

As his voice fell, a festive procession suddenly appeared out of thin air in the distant sky, from the direction of the lingering music.

The procession flew through the air, led by two Hui Dragons pulling a carriage!

A Hui Dragon, while not a True Dragon or a Flood Dragon, is strictly speaking a snake rather than a dragon. The Dragon Race does not recognize Hui Dragons as their kin.

Even so, since the name "Hui Dragon" contained the character for "dragon," it fundamentally possessed some trace of Dragon Race bloodline.

After undergoing calamities and evolution, a Hui Dragon could even have the potential to truly Transform into a Dragon.

For a wedding procession to use Hui Dragons to pull a carriage—the pomp, the grandeur—stunned the guests below into near silence at first sight.

Even the cool and distant Dragon Maiden Ao Yun could not help but turn her head at this moment, her gaze shifting to the procession in the sky.

The Hui Dragons pulling the carriage were the vanguard. Behind them were six Flying Horses, flanked by hairpin-adorned maidservants. The Hui Dragons rode the wind, the Flying Horses beat their wings, and the maidservants rode the clouds. Farther back, a train of wedding sedans stretched on like a castle.

Bringing up the rear, brocade flags snapped in the wind, followed by three hundred heavily armored Celestial Soldiers, their iron armor glinting coldly, majestic and imposing as they formed the rear guard.

A guest whispered, "That's the Flying Armor Army, the most elite Innate Army under Prince Yun. Hui Dragons pulling the carriage, six Flying Horses... this is the procession of the Heir of Prince Yun coming to claim his bride..."

So, the Third Princess's groom at today's wedding was actually of the Human Race—the Heir of Prince Yun of the Great Zhou Immortal Dynasty!

As a Loose Cultivator from the common folk, Song Ciwan knew next to nothing about matters of the Court. Even the piecemeal information she had heard was all street gossip, lacking both accuracy and coherence.

She had no idea who Prince Yun was—his status in the Court, his seniority, the location of his fief, or his strength. Song Ciwan was completely in the dark about all of it.

Of course, knowing or not knowing any of this didn't stop her, as a guest, from enjoying the spectacle of this wondrous moment.

'All I can say is, this wedding banquet tonight was more than worth it!'

In Xizhai, the welcoming boy was still shouting, "The groom has come for the bride! Friends and family, bar the door!"

The child's repeated shouts snapped the stunned guests below out of their daze. As they came to their senses and heard the cry to "bar the door," they immediately responded in agreement.

"Exactly! So what if he's the Heir of Prince Yun? To take our Third Princess today, he'll have to get past us first!"

"But if the Crown Prince's red envelopes are big enough, we might not block him, hahaha..."

Amid the boisterous laughter, the wedding procession in the sky began to descend, spiraling downward.

The first to fly down were, naturally, the two Hui Dragons leading the vanguard.

As the Hui Dragons swished their tails and dove downward, the Dragon Maiden Ao Yun, seated on Song Ciwan's other side, suddenly raised a hand.

A swath of turquoise waves suddenly unfurled from her palm.

When the turquoise waves appeared, they first looked like a miniature lake. A second glance, however, revealed something as vast as a sea. But upon closer inspection, one would realize—what sea? This was clearly a boundless ocean!

Above the seemingly endless ocean, countless dark red tendrils suddenly shot out.

The tendrils whipped about, lashing toward the two lead Hui Dragons to bind them.

As impressive as the Hui Dragons were, how could they possibly withstand a true Dragon Maiden like Ao Yun? Moreover, within the Dragon Race, there was a natural suppression exerted by those of a higher, purer bloodline over those of a lower one.

The moment Ao Yun made her move, the two Hui Dragons in the sky began to wail involuntarily.

The cry of a Hui Dragon was very strange. It didn't sound like a dragon at all, but more like the SQUEAK SQUEAK of a mouse—

Just as the tendrils were about to truss up the two Hui Dragons, the maidservants flying on either side of the wedding sedan suddenly raised their hands in unison.

The next moment, a shower of flower petals rained down from their palms.

Some of the petals landed on the guests and melted directly into their skin, transforming into Spiritual Liquid that nourished their bodies. Others landed in their palms and turned into all sorts of spiritual objects.

There were Spirit Fruits, Spirit Talismans, Elixirs, and even Jade Scrolls!

In the garden beyond the small lake, a guest from the Youzhou Liu Family held a Jade Scroll and exclaimed, "It's the Ten Thousand Woods Spring Technique! The Crown Prince is so generous! To think he would give away such a Magic technique so freely!"

On the island in the middle of the lake, the Great Cyan God picked up an Elixir that had transformed from a petal. Her voice, thick with drink, suddenly rose as she laughed, "A Wish Power Pill! It's actually a Wish Power Pill... The Heir of Prince Yun is truly showing his sincerity in marrying our Little Sister Jin San today. Wonderful! Marvelous! Haha..."

The Great Cyan God put away the Wish Power Pill. With a flick of her sleeve, just as Ao Yun's tendrils were pulling the two Hui Dragons into a downward plunge, a steady, mountain-like force suddenly manifested beneath them, propping them up.

The Great Cyan God smiled at Ao Yun. "Miss Yun, it's a joyous day. Let's not concern ourselves with these two little snakes, shall we? We wouldn't want to disrupt the wedding sedan and miss the auspicious time."

Blocked, Ao Yun was decisive. With a flick of her finger, she immediately retracted the scarlet tendrils binding the two Hui Dragons.

"Sister Cyan God is right," Ao Yun replied with a faint smile.

The two Hui Dragons flew back up into the sky to pull the carriage. Below, Ao Yun pinched a Spirit Talisman that had formed from a petal, let out a soft sigh, and sat back down in her seat.

Song Ciwan also caught two petals. One transformed into a Wish Power Pill, just like the one the Great Cyan God had received, while the other became a strange, leaf-shaped Spirit Talisman.

Song Ciwan placed both items into her personal Storage Pouch.

This small interlude during the bridal procession completely elevated the atmosphere of the wedding banquet. Next, the wedding sedan landed, and then, chest after chest of betrothal gifts were displayed for all to see before being carried into the small pavilion in the island's flower hall.

The Eldest Princess personally stepped forward to greet him. A man with a majestic and imposing bearing emerged from the wedding sedan.

This was the Heir of Prince Yun, tonight's groom and the Third Princess's husband!

The Heir of Prince Yun appeared to be in his early twenties and was quite handsome. His most distinctive feature was a pair of light gold eyebrows!
