Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Harvest and Trade

"All right, you’re all dismissed."

As his voice faded, Steward Ma took out a green Jade Ruyi. With a burst of cyan light, he shot into the sky and disappeared over the horizon in the blink of an eye.

After he left, a noisy clamor immediately erupted from the crowd.

One by one, the numb-faced Spirit Farmers quickly surrounded those who had managed to construct parts of the Three-leaf Spirit Absorption Vein Map. Some offered extravagant flattery, while others earnestly begged for their experience. For a moment, it was quite lively.

However, the objects of their flattery looked back at them with a mix of excitement and fear.

Li Changsheng watched this scene, his mouth twitching slightly. Could you imagine a group of lifeless people with zombie-like faces surrounding you? The scene couldn’t have been more bizarre.

Li Changsheng shook his head, then turned to say his goodbyes to Sun Wenyu before leaving.

"Take care, Senior Brother."

Sun Wenyu watched as Li Changsheng left on Xiaohua’s back. Turning his head back, he glanced at the crowd, immediately felt his scalp tingle, and quickly hurried away.

Back at his small courtyard.

Li Changsheng did not go out again. He peacefully fed his Spirit Beasts, practiced his Cultivation Technique, and meditated on the Three-leaf Spirit Absorption Vein Map.

A few days later, the Yellow Seed Spirit Rice in his Spirit Field matured.

Wearing a bamboo hat and holding a sickle, Li Changsheng hopped onto Xiaohua’s back.

"Let’s go, Xiaohua."

OINK OINK...

Xiaohua grunted, carrying him and ambling leisurely toward the Spirit Field.

It didn’t take long before a golden Spirit Field came into view.

Li Changsheng hopped down. Standing at the edge of the Spirit Field, he sized up the Spirit Rice and willed his thoughts to move.

BUZZ...

A chorus of buzzing wings rang out.

Big Bro and Little Bro led the swarm of insects down into the Spirit Field, using their sharp mouthparts to harvest the Spirit Rice.

Li Changsheng formed a Technique with his hands. As his Spiritual Power circulated, a faint golden light permeated his palm. He lightly swiped it across his sickle, and the golden light flowed like water, coating the blade in the blink of an eye and gleaming with a sharp edge. He then stretched his back, stepped into the Spirit Field, and began harvesting the Yellow Seed Spirit Rice in large swathes.

Time slowly passed.

It wasn’t until the sun set in the west that Li Changsheng and the insect swarm finally finished harvesting the two and a third acres of Spirit Field.

By the time they finished transporting the Spirit Rice, the sky had already grown slightly dark. Li Changsheng worked non-stop. After feeding his Spirit Beasts, he busied himself with husking the Spirit Rice. He didn’t finish husking all the Spirit Rice until the dead of night.

"Phew... finally done."

Li Changsheng stood up and stretched his body.

Four rice sacks stood in the courtyard, containing the two thousand five hundred pounds of Spirit Rice he was prepared to sell tomorrow. After moving around to loosen up, Li Changsheng strode back into the wooden cabin. As the cabin door closed, dozens of Red-winged Blood Bamboos descended from the sky and landed on the rice sacks.

The next morning.

Inside the beast pen.

After pouring out the food, Li Changsheng looked through the gaps in the fence, his gaze focused.

[Target: Snow Sheep]

[Species: Snow Sheep (Female)]

[Tier One Low-grade: 28%]

[Talent: Sharp Horns]

[Status: Pregnant]

He then checked the other two female Snow Sheep in succession; their statuses were also pregnant.

"Not bad, not bad at all..."

A smile surfaced on Li Changsheng’s face. As he stared at the "Pregnant" status bar, a message appeared in his mind:

[Will give birth in fifty days.]

"You’ve done well..." Li Changsheng chuckled, pointing at the male Snow Sheep.

He turned and walked over to the Red Fox pen. Looking at the six Red Foxes inside, his gaze focused again.

[Target: Red Fox]

[Species: Red Fox (Male)]

[Tier One Low-grade: 2%]

[Talent: Agile]

[Status: Healthy]

"They’re ready to leave the pen..."

The smile on Li Changsheng’s face deepened. He opened the gate and gathered all six Red Foxes into his Spirit Beast Bag. Afterward, he walked out of the beast pen carrying his wooden bucket.

Back in the courtyard.

Li Changsheng entered the kitchen, did some light tidying up, and walked outside with two large baskets.

"Xiaohua, come here. Little Xiaohua, you too."

A short while later, all four rice sacks were loaded onto the backs of Xiaohua and Little Xiaohua. After ensuring they were securely tied, Li Changsheng hopped onto Xiaohua’s back, patted it, and hollered, "Let’s go, Xiaohua."

OINK OINK...

Xiaohua grunted as it walked out of the courtyard, with Little Xiaohua waddling along behind. The insect swarm remained divided into two groups, led by Big Bro and Little Bro, flying in circles around the man and his two beasts.

It didn’t take long.

The man and his two beasts arrived at the crude Marketplace. Li Changsheng drove Xiaohua into the Marketplace. Most of the insect swarm landed on Xiaohua and Little Xiaohua, while a small number circled above his head. As soon as the man and two beasts entered the Marketplace, they immediately attracted the attention of most of the crowd.

"Whoa... what kind of Spirit Beast is this? It’s so sturdy!"

"Those tusks, tsk tsk. If it rammed into someone, their guts would instantly spill out!"

"Why does it look so much like a Tusked Pig? Only the fur color and size are a bit different."

"..."

People gathered in groups of three or five, sizing up the man and his two beasts while discussing them in low voices.

In front of a stall selling Spirit Plants, two men and a woman had stopped to pick and choose. Among them, a young man with a somewhat ruthless face turned his head at the sound. Seeing Xiaohua and Little Xiaohua approaching, his eyebrows raised slightly, a gleam flashing in his eyes.

A few breaths later.

The gleam in the young man’s eyes faded. He snorted disdainfully, "They’re just two Tier One Middle-grade Spirit Beasts. What’s there to make a fuss about!"

The stall owner was looking enviously at Xiaohua and Little Xiaohua. If he had two such Spirit Beasts, it would be much more convenient for him when entering the Wanzhong Mountains Range. Hearing the young man’s dismissive tone, the stall owner rolled his eyes at him in annoyance.

"Do you have any?"

The young man’s expression stiffened upon hearing this, and he shot back in angry embarrassment, "Whether I do or not is none of your business."

"You don’t, do you..." The stall owner lazily replied and then ignored him.

Among the group, a woman with a plain face but an unusually tall stature glanced at the young man and sneered, "Other than a saber, he’s so poor all he has left is his own flesh!"

The young man frowned. "You..."

"All right, all right, don’t argue," an old man with completely white hair and beard, looking quite like a transcendent immortal, stood up and scolded the two.

"Yes, Pill Master." Hearing this, the two respectfully agreed and said no more.

The old man turned around, his gaze sizing up the approaching man and two pigs. He looked at the insects circling above Li Changsheng’s head, and then at the rice sacks on the two beasts’ backs. Following that, the old man took out a dozen or so Spirit Stones, bought a low-tier Spirit Plant, and turned to walk toward Li Changsheng.

When he was less than ten feet away from Li Changsheng, the old man spoke up, "Young friend, is that new rice your Spirit Beasts are carrying?"

Li Changsheng looked at him, his expression somewhat surprised as he exclaimed, "Chang the Pill Master...!"

Changxing was slightly taken aback for a moment before smiling. "You know me, young friend? That’s perfect. Might I ask if this is new rice?"

Li Changsheng hopped down and nodded. "Just harvested yesterday."

Changxing’s eyes lit up slightly. "How about this: I’ll buy it for ten percent above the market price. What do you say?"

Above market price?

A smile immediately surfaced on Li Changsheng’s face. "Of course, that works. How much do you want to buy, Chang the Pill Master? If it’s too little..."

Changxing stroked his beard, looked at the four rice sacks, and said softly, "I need to refine some Yellow Bud Pills recently. I’ll take all of this Spirit Rice."

"I have two thousand five hundred pounds here..." Li Changsheng’s eyes lit up slightly.

Changxing nodded. "I’ll take it all."

"Deal." Li Changsheng did not hesitate and nodded in agreement. "Then about this Spirit Rice?"

Changxing said, "Just unload it. I have a storage bag."

Hearing this, Li Changsheng froze for a moment, suddenly filled with envy.

As expected of someone in Alchemy, what a filthy rich tycoon! This was two thousand five hundred pounds of Spirit Rice! Just how big must that storage bag be?
