Chapter 166: Chapter 145: Cyan Yang, 9 Nethers

He watched for a moment, then concealed his aura. Like a stone, he slowly descended, landing not far from the serpentine mass.

Before he could even investigate, a rank odor mixed with a cloying sweetness flooded his nostrils.

As the scent entered his body, Bai Shui’s face suddenly flushed, and his mind grew faintly agitated.

His expression flickered. He quickly circulated his Spiritual Power to block the scent and returned to the summit in a few bounds.

’This aphrodisiac scent...’

Bai Shui stared at the serpentine mass, at a loss for words. He shook his head and turned to leave.

The mass was composed almost entirely of snake beasts, posing no real threat to the Spirit Plant Master on the mountain. As for what Li Changsheng was up to, Bai Shui didn’t want to get involved, nor was it his place to do so.

Time flew, and seven days passed in the blink of an eye.

In the sky, a pale cyan streak of light shot toward Ten Thousand Snake Lake Island.

The two men guarding the summit, including Bai Shui, sensed the aura and rose to cup their fists in greeting.

Without pausing, the streak of light shot directly into a small courtyard at the center of the summit.

Cultivating on the third floor, Li Changsheng sensed this powerful aura and slowly opened his eyes.

He straightened his clothes and made his way downstairs.

When he reached the first floor, a tall, burly man with a thick beard sat with one leg crossed, toying with a piece of blood-red jade.

Li Changsheng cupped his fists and smiled. "Greetings, Senior Brother."

"There’s no need for such formalities between us."

Tan Hu waved a hand dismissively and casually tossed him the blood-red jade.

The moment the jade landed in his hand, Li Changsheng felt the circulation of the Spiritual Power within his body quicken.

"This is?"

Tan Hu chuckled. "It’s called Yin Blood Jade, a Tier Two Mid-Grade Spiritual Object. It’s perfect for helping you cultivate the *Blood River Refining Yang True Skill*."

He then took out a dusty stone bottle, placed it on the table, and said, "This contains a Tier Two Low-Grade Spiritual Object, Earth Fire Evil. It can imbue your Blood Sun Spiritual Power with a trace of its fiery might."

At this, Tan Hu sighed. "It’s a pity. I asked several friends, but none of them had any Yang Evil. Otherwise, the Spiritual Power you cultivate could have been even stronger."

A look of delight flashed in Li Changsheng’s eyes. He cupped his fists and said, "This is more than enough! Thank you, Senior Brother."

He stepped forward, picked up the stone bottle, and examined it for a moment.

Then, Li Changsheng smiled and asked, "Senior Brother, how many Spirit Stones do I owe you for these two Spiritual Objects?"

"Heh heh..."

Upon hearing this, a sly grin appeared on Tan Hu’s face. "Not a single Spirit Stone. They’re a gift."

’A gift?’

Li Changsheng knew full well that "free" often comes at the highest price. He gently set down the stone bottle and the Yin Blood Jade, his brow furrowed. "Senior Brother, what’s the meaning of this?"

"What? Are you looking a gift horse in the mouth, Junior Brother?"

Tan Hu crossed his arms and shook his head with a chuckle. "Relax and take them. It’s not like I would try to harm you, right?"

"Besides, the one who sent these two Spiritual Objects said he knows you."

"Knows me?" Li Changsheng looked puzzled.

Tan Hu said, "His name is Wu Yong."

"Wu Yong?" Li Changsheng’s face was a mask of astonishment.

’Could I have been mistaken? Is that guy actually a second-generation cultivator just slumming it to experience life?’

Seeing his expression, Tan Hu knew he’d gotten the wrong idea. He shook his head and explained, "Not Dong... Dong Xing’s son-in-law. This is Wu Yong, an Outer Sect Steward."

"Back when I was guarding one of the sect’s secret realms, he was the Steward responsible for transporting Spiritual Objects. We’re on good terms."

"He’s very well-connected, so when I returned to the sect, I entrusted him with helping me purchase these Spiritual Objects."

Tan Hu clicked his tongue in amazement. "It was quite a coincidence. When we were talking and your name came up, he actually said he knew you and even described your appearance perfectly."

"Said he was the one who processed your entry when you first joined the sect."

"These two Spiritual Objects are his gift to congratulate you on becoming a Spirit Plant Master."

’Steward Wu...’

For a moment, Li Changsheng’s mind went blank. The image of a refined, scholarly man and that of a handsome youth surfaced in his memory.
