Steward Ma exclaimed in shock, "Spirit Plant Masters? How could they bear to part with them?"

After missing the chance to recruit Li Changsheng, he had made a point of looking into it. The more he learned, the more he realized how difficult it was to become a Spirit Plant Master and how immensely valuable they were.

Li Changsheng’s eyes flickered. "Real Spirit Plant Masters?" he asked.

Tan Hu shook his head. "How could that be? Even if the Miscellaneous Vein Branch were willing, the Beast Soul and Blood Fusion branches would never agree." He paused, then said, "It was one Spirit Plant Master who formed an incomplete mark and another who couldn’t even manage to form a mark at all."

Li Changsheng breathed an inward sigh of relief, then asked with curiosity, "Them? Are they really worth being protected by Nascent Soul Realm Cultivators?"

"Haha, just a couple of Cultivators who’ve barely entered the Nascent Soul Realm."

Tan Hu chuckled dismissively, then teased him, "You have a bodyguard too, Junior Brother."

"Huh?"

Li Changsheng was taken aback and quickly waved his hands. "Senior Brother, don’t get the wrong idea. I definitely don’t think of you as my bodyguard." ℯℯ𝘭.

Now it was Tan Hu’s turn to be stunned. His eyes shifted slightly as he shook his head. "It’s not me."

"Huh?"

This left Li Changsheng completely baffled. ’Is there really a Nascent Soul Cultivator secretly protecting me?’ The thought didn’t bring him joy; instead, his heart grew heavy.

Seeing his disbelief, Tan Hu pointed to Li Changsheng’s arm and laughed. "With that thing on you, you’re better protected than by any number of Nascent Soul Cultivators!"

Li Changsheng looked down at his arm. The skin was smooth, with nothing unusual about it. He couldn’t sense anything there even when he circulated his Spiritual Power.

Tan Hu smiled. "Junior Brother, all you need to know is that here in the Ring Mountain Spiritual Land, you have nothing to worry about."

He then changed the subject, moving on to tell him about matters within the sect.

For instance, the Cyan Yang Sect had recently held its once-a-decade disciple recruitment ceremony. It attracted countless Loose Cultivators, high-ranking officials from the Mortal World, and wealthy families, all hoping to send their children into the sect.

Tan Hu said admiringly, "A number of geniuses emerged from the new disciples this time. Three of them are particularly remarkable."

Steward Ma looked on with curiosity as well.
