Eternal Life by Dual Cultivation

Chapter 611 - 341: Star Lord Palace

  • Next Chapter

Not long after the Restriction at the entrance to the Jade Garden was resealed, a new wave of outside Cultivators appeared and stumbled upon the location.

So many days had passed that no one could say for sure just how many Cultivators had gathered in the depths of the Doumu Immortal Palace. Moreover, even more were speeding over from all corners of the land.

Some of the more well-informed Cultivator factions had already concluded that the opportunities hidden within the Doumu Immortal Palace ruins were so abundant and valuable that they might surpass all the Ancient Immortal Mansion Ruins that had appeared in the last ten thousand years combined.

Of course, the former Hongmeng Divine Hall was not part of this comparison.

For an Ancient Immortal Mansion of this caliber, it was impossible for any faction in this world with even a modicum of strength to not have designs on it.

Then, an unconfirmed rumor quietly began to circulate: the legendary Child of Destiny had also entered the depths of the Doumu Immortal Palace, and Cultivators from more than one faction had already made contact with him.

At this, the upper echelons of even more major factions could no longer sit still. They sent out their elite forces one after another, attempting to capture this pivotal being upon whom the fate of their world—its rise or fall—depended.

...

"...Hmm? Something feels off!"

At the entrance, several hundred Cultivators dressed in identical black Daoist Robes had formed a semicircle. They frowned, sizing up the shimmering, multicolored light screen of the Array Restriction, which radiated a formidable pressure.

An elderly man in a green robe, his hair and beard completely white, observed it intently for a moment. His expression grew complex before he stated with conviction:

"This Array Restriction must have been opened not long ago and then reinforced afterward!"

At these words, the expressions of all the Cultivators present changed.

"Elder Mo, you mean... someone has already beaten us to it?"

a middle-aged man with a dignified air, a golden crown, and a black robe asked in a low voice.

Elder Mo nodded. "That’s right. The other party’s attainments in the Array Dao Domain are extraordinary; that’s how they were able to open it so easily."

The middle-aged man’s expression soured. He asked in a low voice, "Can this Array Restriction be opened again? If they could do it, why can’t we?"

This place was clearly a treasure trove of inestimable value, yet someone else had beaten them to the prize. How could they possibly accept that?

This middle-aged man was Ji Tianyu, the Vice Sect Leader of the Shaohao Immortal Sect. Due to various incidents after entering the ruins, most of his sect’s Disciples had been scattered, leaving him with only a few hundred people at his command.

He himself was at the Middle Stage of Void Refining, while Elder Mo was a Grandmaster of the Array Dao Domain. However, Elder Mo’s own Cultivation had only just reached Divinity Transformation Peak and was not yet stable.

"It will be very difficult!"

Elder Mo shook his head, his brows furrowed. "My Cultivation is limited. I estimate it would take me at least seven or eight days to undo this Restriction Seal. By that time, I’m afraid any opportunities inside will have long been divided up and taken..."

"We still have to try!"

Ji Tianyu said through gritted teeth, "As long as we block the exit, those people inside won’t be able to escape. We’ll still have a chance!"

Elder Mo could only manage a wry smile. ’If this Jade Garden has no other exit, then the Vice Sect Leader’s point is valid. But I’m afraid of the ’what ifs’...’

’Besides,’ he thought, ’the Cultivators inside were able to open this place, so they’re certainly no pushovers. Is our Sect’s current strength truly a match for them?’

"Elder Mo, please make an attempt!"

A slender Elder spoke up, "We’ve come all this way; how can we just give up now? There must be a great number of ancient Divine Medicines growing in there. Their value to the Sect is immense. We must obtain them!"

"Very well, I will give it a try!"

Elder Mo sighed, taking out a pile of Magical Artifacts that shimmered with spiritual light and beginning to survey the Array Restriction.

To be honest, he too felt unwilling to give up. In the face of such a great opportunity, few Cultivators could remain unswayed—not even a Great Power in the Void Refinement Realm.

Before long, more streaks of Escape Light appeared on the horizon, accelerating toward them in the hundreds, even thousands.

With a grave expression, Ji Tianyu ordered all the Disciples to be on guard. With their limited numbers, they had to prepare for the worst.

"...So, it is Fellow Daoist Ji of the Shaohao Immortal Sect!"

A familiar voice called out from the distance, causing Ji Tianyu to relax slightly.

He laughed heartily. "So it’s Brother Yan Dongyun! I never thought we would meet here. This is truly a fateful encounter!"

As they spoke, numerous streaks of Escape Light descended nearby, revealing many Cultivators from the Yan Family—men and women, young and old.

The man in the lead, who was burly with strong features, walked over with a smile. He wore a black Feather Cloak, and his Cultivation was at the Late Stage of Void Refining. This was none other than the Supreme Elder of the Yan Family, Yan Dongyun.

Since the Yan Family’s Cultivators had also been largely scattered in the depths of the Immortal Palace, this great personage didn’t have many clansmen with him at the moment, much like the Shaohao Immortal Sect’s situation.

Yan Dongyun and Ji Tianyu were old acquaintances and on good terms. Furthermore, the relationship between the Shaohao Immortal Sect and the Yan Family was decent, so after huddling together and whispering for a moment, the two decided to join forces.

Yan Dongyun was delighted to see Elder Mo was also present. He immediately had two of his own Array Masters, both at the Middle stage Divinity Transformation, come over to help and, while they were at it, ask for some pointers.

Several hours later, streaks of Escape Light lit up the horizon as a third wave of Cultivators arrived.

This time, however, the newcomers weren’t native Cultivators from the Qingming Continent, but a power from another—the Xuanshen Sect from the Qinghuan Continent.

There was nothing to discuss. At Ji Tianyu and Yan Dongyun’s command, all their Disciples attacked. A volley of Flying Swords and Magical Treasures of all colors, mixed with an array of powerful Divine Techniques, flew toward the hundreds of approaching Cultivators.

Amidst thunderous roars, the sky filled with a brilliant cascade of light. Caught off guard, dozens of the Xuanshen Sect Cultivators were struck down.

Naturally, the other side was not the type to take a beating without fighting back. They counterattacked without hesitation. Sword Qi flew and thunderous power surged as the two groups of Cultivators instantly clashed in a chaotic melee.

In an instant, the sky darkened and the very air seemed to roil. From time to time, a Cultivator would cry out in agony and perish.

「Inside the Jade Garden」

"...Phew, we’ve finally plundered everything!"

Storing the last batch of Divine Medicine seeds he had found in his Spatial Magical Artifact, Ling Changqing finally let out a sigh of relief.

The resources here were far more precious than one could possibly imagine, so he didn’t want to leave a single plant behind for outsiders. Fortunately, the internal spaces of the Era Star Palace and the Little Qiankun Realm were large enough. That, combined with the numerous Storage Magical Artifacts carried by his lovely companions, allowed him to completely clear the place out.

"This batch of raw Medicinal Herbs is enough for you and Senior Sister to perform Alchemy nonstop for centuries and still not run out!"

said the bright and stunningly beautiful Tang Qiu Yao with a radiant smile.

"The main problem is that my Cultivation isn’t high enough. I can only store many of these medicinal materials for now. I’ll have to wait until my Cultivation Realm is higher before I can use them."

Ling Changqing explained that many of the Divine and Saintly Medicines here required at least a Rank Five, or even Grade Six, master of the Alchemy Dao to even attempt refining them. To do otherwise would be a tremendous waste.

"Mm, there’s no need to rush. We can take our time."

Xue Qingtan said with a smile. With Ling Changqing’s growth rate, reaching the Void Refining Realm and becoming a Grade Six Pill Master was only a matter of time. He didn’t face the so-called bottlenecks that plagued others.

Of course, these Divine Medicine seeds could also be planted in a suitable Medicinal Garden on a Spirit Vein. After a few hundred or a thousand years, they could be harvested continuously, becoming part of the family’s legacy.

"Now that our work here is done, can we leave? Is there another hidden passage?"

Meng Feiyu asked.

Through the layers of Array Restrictions, they could vaguely see that the situation outside the Jade Garden had devolved into a chaotic free-for-all. Countless lives were being extinguished with every passing moment, and blood flowed freely on the ground.

Dressed in robes as white as snow, the radiant Xue Qingtan smiled. "Of course there is. We don’t need to confront those people; we can just slip away quietly."

With memories from her past life, she was quite familiar with the area. It didn’t take her long to find a path and open the Restriction.

It was a crystal-clear bridge several yards wide, which snaked away into the distance, its destination unknown.

"This... should be the path to the Star Lord Hall, right?"

Xue Qingtan mused as the relevant memories gradually resurfaced from the depths of her Divine Soul.

"That should be it,"

Ling Changqing silently employed his Secret Method of Celestial Secret Calculation and nodded slightly. "This is also an important opportunity. We can’t miss it!"

Meng Feiyu said, "In that case, we’ll wait inside. Once you’ve arrived, Husband, you can let us out."

And so, all the Female Cultivators re-entered the Era Star Palace Grotto Heaven Blessed Land, leaving only Xue Qingtan to accompany Ling Changqing as they walked toward the end of the crystal bridge.
