Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1911 - 1910 - Piercing the Veil

Lind spent a few billion years testing various aspects of his power and his theories. With time frozen, he could not upgrade the universe but before he tried, he wanted to search the deep dark of it all.

He had finally been able to master his aura and his skills to really see what existed. He found the traces of the ancestors everywhere but they were faint. All they had created and done had been reduced to nothing with the passage of time save the few things they planned to create a different future.

Lind was the goal in a way but he also exceeded it. They had not fully understood what they were doing.

He was now flying deeper into the dark until he found some kind of barrier. He was looking for something natural, not artificial. In theory, he was looking for something that may not exist.

He could create something like the First but it would not be stronger than him. That was a major issue. It could keep Demi Tier and below in line but Full Tier Eternal Realm cultivators would remain a danger.

He was unsure if he could even do half the things he had thought of for sure but he had a good feeling about success on several fronts.

If he could upgrade the universe to the Eternal Realm, it would be safe to let cultivators out. He just was unsure if mortals could survive in such a place.

He knew he had to figure that out too but he had ideas. The first was finding what the universe was missing.

The principles making worlds were far more mundane out here. Physics, simple forces, and such were the norm. Compared to realms being born under Heaven and Earth, it was likely incompatible with the cultivation world.

Still, Eternal Qi was there. It was faint, but it existed and the ancestors had been able to use it. If Qi existed, he had to believe something similar also existed.

He finally reached some kind of limit. He felt a resistance to his flight that could only be from something stronger than him. He probed it but nothing came back.

He then focused and an emerald aura flared around him. Still, he could not see beyond it. He then transformed into his massive dragon body. It spanned thousands of kilometers now. He was bringing it all to the fore.

Emerald flames built up in his throat and slammed into a barrier. Nothing happened so he pulled back and thought of what he could do.

He could not connect to his old Heaven and Earth but he was familiar with Authority. He contemplated that sensation and recreated it.

[Heaven and Earth, I wish to commune.] He projected as much as he could into that sensation.

Nothing happened at first but then an aperture opened and a being appeared.

They were humanoid yet he felt restrained in their presence. He had felt it before in the spirit world.

The figure had no gender and he reverted to his human form as he knelt before them.

{A cultivator? Unexpected. How have you come to exist?}

It was not a chorus of voices but a neutral voice in his mind. He did not hide a thing. He relayed all that he had lived through and what he had pieced together. The figure frowned at some points but the Bastard made him go pale.

Silence descended for a long time before Lind felt a shift. He was suddenly surrounded by similar beings. They felt nothing like the spirits he had met before. They were far above him!

{You exist without our permission but we cannot revoke your power. The foolish beings broke the foundation of reality. What are you going to do?} There was a chorus now.

Lind outlined what he had learned and did not hide his desires. The spirits listened but were cold. They did not soften nor did they seem inclined to indulge him.

Compared to the spirits he knew, these felt very distant.

They pulled back from him but he was still there. He looked around and felt how cold the space was. It felt like it was a place of the dead rather than the spring of life like the golden world he had been to before.

There was no interaction nor any sign of life between the beings in front of him. Had they been active before or only when he arrived?

He was pulled out of his thoughts as the original androgynous figure floated in front of him.

{You will rule?}

The question caught him briefly off guard but he quickly shook his head. He had ruled an empire and a sect, that was enough for him to know what he wanted.

[I wish only to save my family and friends. I want them to live. Beyond that, I do not know yet what I am going to do.] His answer seemed to surprise them. He was confused as to why.

He had seen what giving in to desires did. The Bastard was the worst but the false Inheritances also showed him variations of what indulging his power could lead to. He would rather settle down with his family and figure out how he wanted to live from there.

Another conference was held that kept him out. He had no way to insert himself. He waited for years until the original spirit returned to him.

{We have decided. Everything will be reset. You will move on from there.} Lind's emerald eyes narrowed.

[What does that mean?] He wanted confirmation and the spirit did not hold back.

{We will wipe the current situation away. It is already frayed so it will not be difficult. The stolen energy will be returned to the correct balance and you can then proceed to mold the new universe to cultivation.}

Lind went still. They were serious. There was no test nor mockery. They could not kill him. He was beyond that danger, but they were going to wipe out everyone he loved as if it was a minor thing!

His eyes glowed as his aura flared.

[No.] He said nothing else but the spirits frowned. They did something and he felt pressure push on him. They were trying to restrain him!

His aura flared even more but his harmony came to the fore. The restraints shattered like glass. Shock flared and he gave them no further chances.

His body bulged as he became a dragon once more. The spirits began to grow in numbers and he knew they were not showing him the truth! They were holding him back!

His eyes flared and he used his Talents to see where they were coming from.

He barely detected the fissures they flitted through and vanished into them. He found a vast realm of spirits. They were stunned at his arrival but he saw it. The core of the universe.

It was a dull thing and he perceived the seal on it. His mane flared as a weaving slammed outward. His claws slashed and his tail slammed all the spirits as they tried to repress him.

They also tried to break his sigils but it seemed they could not stop him.

{You do not understand what you are doing! You will ruin everything! We will decide what happens going forward!} The spirit found him and he only glanced at it without saying anything. He began to grasp the truth.

The spirits were from before the ancestors stole Eternal Qi. They were petty and vindictive so they had sealed Heaven and Earth. They had prevented the ancestors from learning the truth.

They trapped the various species into a death trap!

[You know who I faced. He was scum but compared to you that forced trillions of lives into a dead end, he was a saint!] His anger was flaring. They had thought they could force him to be their puppet and destroy all life to remake the universe in their desired image.

His power slammed into the veil over the core. It cracked as if it was an egg shell. The spirits were panicking and tried to assault him, yet they had no power over him.

He was defiance incarnate! He would not bow! He would not give in!

His tail slammed into the barrier and it shattered. The white and black core began to swirl. Black clouds gathered above them all. He recognized it.

It was the Wrath of Heaven! It felt horrifying to him. He wondered if it was his end but he was left alone.

Black lightning slammed outward and wiped out every spirit around him! He was shocked. Karmic debt was possible for spirits but all of them?! He weathered the storm until it was over.

Not a single spirit survived and he was alone with the core. He did not dare to do more until a woman appeared.

She was very young. She appeared no more than a teenager or mid twenties at best. Her aura was far below him yet he knelt before her with his massive body.

{Origin told me to thank you. The old spirits forgot their purpose and made a mess. They sealed it from interfering but you set it free. You can proceed but with some conditions.} Lind narrowed his reptilian eyes.

He took a moment and asked the most important question.

[Can my family survive?] The spirit smiled at him and relayed the conditions. He was surprised but nodded at the end and left.

He had a lot of work to do.
