Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 3158 Perfect Unity

Chapter 3158 Perfect Unity

“Unity related to the amount of spirit roots?”

The matriarch fell into a silent thought as she considered Alex’s questions. It wasn’t long before she shook her head slightly.

“I don’t see that being the case at all. All Heavenly beasts only have a single elemental spirit root in them, and yet their talent is beyond anything the other beasts tend to have. You could make the argument that it is because of our Supreme roots, but even then we have different stages of talents, so different levels of Unity.”

Alex gave the floor a rhythmic tap as he considered the matriarch’s words. He wasn’t sure why, but he had a feeling that his Five Elemental Yin-Yang spirit roots were directly tied to why his Unity was near perfection.

If spirit roots weren’t important to one’s Unity, then would he still have the same talent if he no longer had half of his spirit roots?

“What exactly is Unity?” he asked. “Is it how closely your body and soul are connected, or how well your Qi has the ability to work as the conduit between them? Could you change your Qi to form a better conduit?”

The matriarch’s eyes narrowed as she considered the question for a bit. To her surprise, she couldn’t immediately answer.

“I’m not sure,” she said in the end. “It could be either, or it could be a combination of both. A body and soul that are not closely aligned definitely do not form a good Unity, that much is certain. As for whether Qi or spirit roots have anything to do there, I don’t think there’s a definite way to test it out. Spirit roots hardly change without both body and soul changing along with it.”

Alex thought for a moment and nodded. Even if he were to add a spirit root to someone, the only way for them to use it would be for their body to accept the spirit root as their own. At that point, both

body and soul would’ve changed, so he could not tell.

Alex’s eyes narrowed as an idea came to him, one he would have to test out later while he was alone.

“Regarding Perfect Unity. You said it doesn’t exist,” Alex said. “Do you know why?”

“Same reason why everything perfect doesn’t exist,” the matriarch said. “Because the Heaven deems it so.”

Alex blinked. “Oh, right. They do hate perfection. But Heaven hasn’t always existed, so do you think there was a time in the past when Perfect Unity existed? If so, what would it look like?”

The matriarch didn’t answer immediately. Alex looked toward her and saw a look of hesitation on her face. “Did I ask something wrong?”

“Not necessarily,” the matriarch said. “Only, that which you ask has no answer. At least, no credible answer. I have read a single reference to this thing called Perfect Unity, and what I read regarding it was quite absurd.”

“Absurd? In what way?” Alex asked.

“According to the text, a being with Perfect Unity would have a unified body and soul at all times, causing any changes in one to immediately reflect in the other even when they didn’t cultivate. And furthermore, even more unbelievable was the fact that they could apparently improve their cultivation without stop, as never in their life would they ever experience a single bottleneck.”

“No… bottleneck?” Alex asked, his eyes slightly widening.

“None whatsoever. At least, that’s what my records told me. They would only be slowed down by their need to learn a Dao, form a Creation, and establish their Axiom. Other than that, they could cultivate without stopping.”

Alex remained frozen for a long time, his face struggling to hide his stunned expression.

‘Hannah has Perfect Unity?’

The descriptions matched her quite well. She could cultivate without a single feeling of a bottleneck and could break through realms as simply as he could make pills.

“It is shocking, isn’t it?” the matriarch asked, misattributing his shock to her words.

“Are you sure they don’t exist?” Alex asked.

“They cannot. Heaven makes it clear that they cannot,” she said.

Alex frowned. But if that was the case, then how could his sister exist? Or… maybe he was wrong.

“Would someone with Perfect Unity show the same power as that one person you mentioned-the one that survived the mind-stealer?” Alex

asked.

“Of course. A being with Perfect Unity wouldn’t even have to cultivate. They would be in a perpetual state of Unity after all,” the matriarch said.

That caused Alex to frown because that definitely was not the case with his sister. She suffered from her clone just as well as everyone else did, and she didn’t even have the luxury to be awake when her

clone was cultivating.

“The Nine Revolutions Celestial Body, Alex thought. ‘It’s her constitution, not her Unity, that allows her to cultivate endlessly. The Nine Revolutions Celestial Body must just be an attribute of what it means to have the Perfect Unity, but not the entire thing! Alex was lost in thought for some time and belatedly remembered that he hadn’t said anything in a while. “Thank you for explaining this to me. I’ll continue studying Unity going forward. I find a motivation growing inside me to find out if one’s Unity can be changed for the better, and if there is a way to make it perfect.”

The matriarch couldn’t help but smile. “I wish you good luck in that

endeavor, but for now, I ask you to return your focus to the task at hand. Can you see the improvements now, or is it still too subtle?” Alex looked toward Xuan Luhei, his senses completely focused on his body. “I can sense it now, albeit it is a bit too subtle for me still.”

That wasn’t all Alex noticed. While Xuan Luhei’s body became better, producing blood with more bloodline aura, the blood within him had deteriorated as well, as if the blood and body were attempting to reach an equilibrium.

Alex had expected something of the sort to happen. When it did finally reach equilibrium, he would just have to replace the blood again, with the stronger concentration.
