Chapter 3118 The Truth

Chapter 3118 The Truth

Alex narrowed his eyes upon hearing the female dragon’s insistence on learning something about him before answering his question. “Let’s do one for one. I answer one of your questions, and you answer one of mine.”

“I can’t, I’m sorry,” the dragon said. “But if you answer my questions and they align with what I’m thinking, then I’ll explain everything without holding back.”

Alex frowned for a moment, considering it. Her questions asked for something he had already revealed, so he didn’t see any reason not to answer her current questions.

“Five,” Alex said. “I’ve learned five Spatial Daos.”

The woman’s eyes went wide in shock. “Five?”

“Yes, five,” Alex said. “Will that make you answer my question?”

The woman frowned. She thought for a moment and looked up. “Alright, I’ll just go ahead and ask. Around a year ago, there was someone who learned many Spatial Daos at once. Was that you?”

Alex raised an eyebrow. “Why do you say that?”

“Because we came in here assuming it was the hybrid that did so,” the dragon said. “But if it was you, that changes things completely.”

Alex frowned. “How so?”

“Was it you?” the dragon asked.

“Yes, it was me,” Alex said. “Why does it matter to you whether it was me or Pearl? Surely the Azure Dragons don’t think they have a monopoly on space aura, right?”

“No, but we have a reason to seek out any and all beasts with a strong Azure Dragon bloodline,” the dragon said. “And we thought it might have been the hybrid by the amount of Dao that was learned that day.”

“That was me,” Alex said. “Pearl has some Spatial Daos, but that comes from his own understanding. His bloodline is so weak that he can’t even make any use of it. Hell, your patriarch already tested his bloodline, so why the hell are you guys after him?”

“If he had the Azure Dragon bloodline in any considerable amount, it would have shown. There is no reason to hide it either. He still carries the surname ‘Qing’ because he cares about his father, who was an Azure Dragon. And you think he would do something that would get him ostracized by his own family?”

The more Alex spoke, the more frustrated he became, and by the end of it all, he was practically screaming.

“I don’t know many details,” the dragon said. “Maybe someone who was actually told the details would know more than me. All I know is that an order came from the patriarch to find out how much Azure Dragon bloodline was in the hybrid. We were told we would find him here, so we were made to find out.”

Alex frowned for a moment, thinking of something. “Alright, come with me.”

In the next moment, he grabbed the woman and teleported. The woman felt the world twist around her for a moment, and then they arrived far away in the forest.

Pearl turned around in panic, getting ready to fight someone else, only to realize it was Alex.

“Brother?” he called out in surprise. He then saw the blue-haired woman next to him, creating confusion. He tried to understand what an Azure Dragon would be doing with Alex, but nothing came to mind.

Alex took off the earring for a moment, letting the familiar feeling of their bond flow back between them. He didn’t show any emotion, but Pearl was certainly surprised.

Pearl’s eyes turned toward the woman next to him, and he gestured toward her. “Who is this?”

“This is” Alex paused. “Wait, I never got your name, actually!”

“I didn’t get yours either,” the woman said. “I’m Qing Fuojia.”

“I’m Alex. And this is Pearl,” Alex said. “Or, uh… might as well give his family name-Qing Shouchuang.”

The woman seemed excited to hear that, as if that was exactly who she was searching for and had finally found him. Even then, she hadn’t been entirely sure.

“So, you are the hybrid then,” she said, her eyes shining with light.

“Pearl, can you transform for a moment?” Alex said.

Pearl did as asked, still quite confused by the whole thing. His body changed to that of his natural form-a White Tiger without stripes. The woman blinked for a moment, as if not expecting to see Pearl in his current form. While she had heard of him being a hybrid, she at least expected to see some sort of Azure Dragon traits on him, but there were absolutely none at all.

“As you can see, he is the hybrid,” Alex said. “You may go ahead and test him to see how strong his bloodline is. But beware, if you try anything else, I will kill you. Your oath doesn’t stop me from doing

that.”

The woman frantically nodded and walked toward Pearl.

Pearl allowed her to get close while talking to Alex through their bond

to understand what was happening.

Alex explained the situation in detail, telling Pearl how the Azure Dragons believed he might have hidden his bloodline for some reason. Pearl was properly offended, as he should have been.

Qing Fuojia spent some time searching through Pearl’s bloodline, only to sense nothing more than tiny hints of it. There was practically none at all.

She frowned.

“So we were mistaken,” she said as she got back up. “I’ll go tell my

people that we were mistaken, and they will stop targeting you. I’m so sorry. The breakthrough where he ended up learning many Spatial Daos caused our seniors to think it was you. I’m so sorry.”

She stood up, ready to depart and end this beast hunt right away.

However, Alex had a different idea.

“You’ll be going nowhere,” Alex said, turning to Pearl. “I think we need

to get this hunt going for a bit longer, Pearl.”

Pearl stared at Alex, seeing some mischievous thoughts forming

within him.

“What are we doing?” he asked.

“Using you as bait,” Alex said with a grin. “I need more Azure Dragons

to learn from to help you, so the more that come for you, the better.”
