Chapter 2936: Celestial Clash
Chapter 2936: Celestial Clash
Alex was learning some minor things about the four clans even through these conversations. All he had to do was listen to their words and he would learn something.
At this point, he had learned that at least one of the four heavenly beast clans’ head was a female, a matriarch, and from the conversations he heard, it was most likely the phoenix.
He knew the White Tigers had a patriarch, and the Azure Dragon did so as well. The snake hadn’t talked as much so he didn’t get a chance to hear much. But he did get an inkling that the snake that had arrived itself was most likely a female instead.
Alex wondered if there were any signs to recognize who was a male and who was a female based on the beasts themselves, other than the obvious ones of course.
The beasts’ conversations didn’t last for long as the sky grew dense with energy, ready to spill out onto the haggard Bladedance.
Bladedance was still quite composed in her expression, but she was definitely starting to struggle with these lightning bolts. Hopefully, she would handle both this one and the next with as much strength as she could.
Bladedance had to go for more than just Sword Aura this time around. So, she began using her Sword Heart on top of it all at the same time.
Bright golden sparks of Sword Qi appeared halfway in the air, quickly gathering into a cluster where they were concentrated to fight off the one single attack.
The dark clouds spat out the bright bolt of lightning that struck down at the concentrated cluster of Sword Qi, and at the same time, Bladedance swung her blade for the penultimate time.
The streak of sword slash flew into the sky where it struck the lightning bolt perfectly at the same time it struck the Sword Domain formed by the Sword Heart.
The combination of the two were attacks of incredible strength. And even then, they were barely enough to hold off the lightning bolt.
The shockwave once again passed through the vessel, this time causing the barrier to flex to a point that they were worried it was really going to break. Even the force that passed through was quite horrifying for the weaker people staying within.
“Should I move the vessel slightly further back, seniors?” the White Tiger asked. “It might be safer if we did.”
“We’re already as far as we can be to watch such a scene,” the Azure Dragon said. “If we move any further back, we won’t get to see anything.”
“But the barrier…”
“If it does break, we’ll use our powers to defend you,” the snake said. “If we three use our defensive techniques, we should be fine.”
The phoenix nodded. “We are safe here.”
Alex stared at the beasts in awe, not because he was amazed, but because they were throwing caution to the wind.
The lightning bolt just then had to have been a step away from the Celestial realm, but the next one would definitely be. At that point, the force that would be generated would no doubt be stronger than what they had dealt with earlier.
Even if they could somehow defend against it, there was not much guarantee that they would choose to protect the two humans standing beside them. And in the midst of strengths belonging to Divinities and Celestials, mere Immortals were collateral damage at best.
The old man next to him showed no fear. He seemed to either believe the barrier would hold or that the beasts would protect him too.
Alex couldn’t leave this up to chance. So, he slowly spread out his spiritual sense in preparation for his own safety.
After the dust settled on the ground, everyone could see Bladedance who panted for breath, the previous attack taking a lot out of her. Her eyes were blood red now, staring at the sky where the dark clouds prepared for its final attack.
By now, Bladedance had understood one thing. Instead of making her fight off 6 different Immortal Tribulations that she had missed, it was making her fight off one single one.
And it had been a very strong one at that, considering that she hadn’t gone through enough Immortal Tribulations to have reached this stage if she had done it normally.
The heavens were truly testing her.
’Test me as you want,’ she thought. ’You can’t defeat me.’
She gripped her sword, her Creation, with as much strength as she could muster and poured all of her remaining intent into this single attack. Sword Aura flared around her and the Sword Heart appeared in the sky the same as before.
She took a deep breath, waiting for the spark in the sky. And when she finally saw it, she swung.
The lightning bolt met the sword slash and reality itself broke open.
“Shit!”
Before the resulting shockwave even reached the ship, Alex already knew of the outcome. The attack had been so strong that there was no doubt the ship’s barrier would break.
When it did, Alex was already gone.
Alex teleported dozens of kilometers away from the ship, with the old man next to him. Immediately, he put the old man into his Soul Space, protecting him.
Blood had already pooled underneath his clothes by then, and in an instant, it formed a robe around him that was his Blood Armor.
He used every available defensive technique at the same time, protecting himself from the shockwave that was ever expanding. The shockwave hit him not even an instant after he used those techniques, and none of them did anything to protect him.
His Blood Armor failed almost instantly, and the rest stopped it no more than paper stopped a scissor from cutting through it.
Alex felt the bones on the front of his body crush into him before his organs were ruptured by the force of the impact. By the time his heart and brain were crushed, he was pretty much dead.
And all that had hit him was the aftermath of the clash of two Celestial realm attacks.
