Chapter 2911: Realm within Realms

Chapter 2911: Realm within Realms

The Realm within Realms was the third of the Immortal realm after the Ever-Dark realm and the Immortal Prison realm, which did not belong to any group at all.

Having been to the other two realms before, Alex hadn’t thought that he would be going to this place anytime soon. However, from what his master and Bai Jingshen were saying, it appeared he already had.

“Is it really where I have been?” Alex asked.

“It is possible,” Bladedance said. “Although we cannot say for certain since you do not recall anything at all.”

“But you said everyone loses their memories, did you not?” Alex asked.

“They do, but that alone isn’t proof enough,” Bladedance said. “We need more than just that for confirmation.”

“What can we use for confirmation?” Alex asked.

Bladedance shrugged. “That I cannot answer. As your friend said, we might have to ask the Divination God to bring back your memory, and then we’ll have an answer.”

Alex nodded with some understanding. The lack of memory was certainly frustrating, so at least knowing that he wasn’t alone in all of this was helpful.

“Everyone loses memories, do they?” Alex asked.

“Everyone who doesn’t die first,” Bladedance said. “I must not have made it clear, but it is a very dangerous place to visit. Ninety-nine out of one hundred people die just on the way there. Of those who survive the initial journey, three in five still end up dying while inside.”

“Of those that survive inside, all manage to come out safely, but having lost their memories and almost everyone empty-handed. I know of very few figures who were said to have gone to the Realm within Realms and come out with something.”

“The first Sky God had managed to do just that. It is said that he managed to find something on the inside that led him to the inspiration to create the teleportation formations that now exist in every Immortal realm.”

“There was a god in the past known simply as the Fiend, who is said to have received his biggest techniques from the Realm within Realms as well. He is who the current Immortal world Fiend’s Sanctuary is named after.”

“The Sword God who left a scar in the Split Sky realm is said to have received his sword from there. They say the Divination God has been inside as well, and that is how his Divination skills are so good. I remember hearing that the previous Death God also received something from there, but it’s hard to say if that’s true since she’s long since dead.”

She turned toward Alex. “If I’m not mistaken, the Blood God’s Manual you own was also something the Blood God received from there. Although, I cannot confirm that for sure.”

Alex was dumbfounded hearing about all of those big names and how they had all received something big from there. “But… but I didn’t receive anything big,” he said.

There was the book that allowed one to copy and learn an aura to recreate it forever, but there were plenty of other techniques that did something similar already. If he really had been to the Realm within Realms, then he wished he got something far more substantial.

“Like I said, most people don’t end up getting anything at all,” Bladedance said. “And we’re not even sure if you really did go there at all.”

Alex supposed that was true. “What’s so dangerous about it that most people die just getting there?” he asked.

“The Realm within Realms is not a fixed world like all the other realms. Its path throughout space is erratic. It is constantly in motion, moving in almost all directions. As a result, the space around it is constantly fracturing, collapsing. It leaves hundreds of thousands of kilometers long trail of shattering spaces that cut you apart in seconds if you aren’t careful.”

“Because it hides itself in layers of fractured space, we call it the Realm within Realms. It is also why the demons call it the Ever-Collapsing realm.”

Alex nodded. He turned toward Bai Jingshen. “Wait, doesn’t that make the beasts’ name for it weird then?” he asked. “How is it the Ever-Still realm if it is constantly in motion with space fracturing all around it?”

“It is indeed a strange name,” Bai Jingshen said. “But there is a reason why it is named as such.”

Bladedance looked at him with equal curiosity as Alex.

“It is because the beasts believe the realm to be doing the exact opposite of what we all think it is doing. Everyone else thinks it is constantly in motion, but we believe that it is in fact completely still, while everything else is in motion around it.”

Alex frowned a bit. “That doesn’t sound right.”

Bai Jingshen shrugged. “That’s what our progenitors believed, and that is why we named it that.”

Alex couldn’t argue against that logic. He took a moment to think for himself and remembered the area outside of the realm he had escaped to from Void. The space around it was so much distorted that he had to be very careful just to get inside.

If the space in Void was that bad, he could only imagine what the space inside must’ve been like.

’I know what it is like,’ Alex thought. ’I’ve only forgotten by now.’

If only he could get his memory back.

“If I can get my memory back,” Alex said, “Couldn’t all the gods before me have done the same?”

Bladedance paused for a moment, considering his words, and nodded. “Hmm, perhaps they didn’t try,” she said. Although, that didn’t sound right.

“Maybe it is impossible,” Alex said.

Bladedance couldn’t reject the idea.

“Whatever it is, it is past you now,” Bai Jingshen said. “Don’t let the past hold you from moving to the future. If you find your memories in the future, that’s great. But don’t keep your hopes up for it and you won’t be disappointed.”

Alex smiled. “I know, Brother Shen. I am fully prepared to forget about it for now.”
