Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 2907: The Truth

Chapter 2907: The Truth

Bladedance narrowed her eyes for a moment. She stared at the Azure Dragon trying to remember him. Just like the dragon, she too wasn’t good with the faces of the beast.

“I do believe I remember you,” Bladedance said. “You were the grandson of your patriarch, were you not?”

Having been present during the treaty, Bladedance had got to meet all four patriarchs of the Four Beast Clans, as well as the many powerful beasts that were in this realm. While this dragon was only in the Divine Domain realm, he wasn’t that far off from entering the Celestial realm.

He would most likely reach it in no more than 40 thousand years.

The Azure Dragon smiled, its bluish-green scales glistening with sunlight.

“I am Qing Zhangru, the fourth grandson of our esteemed patriarch, Qing Sunwen,” the dragon said with a much more polite tone than any other beasts that had shown one before.

But then again, this was the Sword God.

“If I may question the Sword God, would you mind explaining how it is that you have managed to come to this realm?” Qing Zhangru asked. “This particular teleportation receiving platform is only for members of our clan. I must sincerely ask the Sword God to explain how she got her hands on our teleportation talisman.”

Bladedance didn’t answer for a moment. She had to carefully consider what words she was going to say next, for there was danger here even if it didn’t fully appear right away.

“I was not the one who used it,” Bladedance said. “I was merely traveling with my disciple. We were in a lower realm, and one of my companions, this young beast, was the one who used the talisman.”

The dragon’s eyes focused on Pearl. “Young child, the talisman you used was made by us Azure Dragons, solely for the use of the Azure Dragons. Pray tell how you came across it?”

Bladedance seemed quite curious herself. She hadn’t fully understood the details behind how they had come across the talisman. She had heard that the talisman had belonged to Pearl’s father, but the dragon claimed that it belonged to the dragons instead.

So she couldn’t help but wonder if Pearl’s father had somehow managed to get it from another dragon.

Pearl hesitated to answer in that moment. He didn’t know how much he should be saying, and how much he should not. He turned toward Alex, hoping for a hint at what to do.

Alex gently patted Pearl on the back. “Tell them,” he said. “It’s fine. We are already here, so there is no point in hiding it.”

Pearl took a deep breath and nodded.

He stepped forward and looked at the dragon before him. “I humbly greet senior,” Pearl said. “This talisman was something that I acquired from my father.”

“Your father?” the dragon asked. “No, how did your father come across it?”

“He was given this talisman when he was sent to the lower world to rule it for 15 thousand years. He—”

“Only a dragon is given that talisman,” the dragon interrupted. “Your father should not have been given that.”

“He was,” Pearl said. “For my father was an Azure Dragon.”

The dragon paused. “What? What nonsense is this?” he asked.

“My father is the late Qing Tianchui, and I am his son, Qing Shouchuang.”

Pearl’s words were easily the most nonsensical thing anyone among them had ever heard. None of the beasts surrounding them could believe it, and some of the dragons even believed they were being mocked.

Qing Zhangru’s whiskers flared as if in a show of anger.

Seeing the situation, Pearl continued. “My father died back in the 3rd Major Spirit realm. I believe that much should be made apparent by now given everyone else has returned here. He died protecting me. I never really got to meet him. I later got the talisman from his items, and I used it to come here.”

“Enough,” the dragon said, its words spreading like an order in the wind. “Do you think I would ever believe this fantastical tale? That an Azure Dragon sired a… a cat?”

“That is the truth, senior,” Pearl said.

Bladedance was quite confused as well. She couldn’t imagine why Pearl was lying at all. She wondered what he could gain from all of this.

“Sword God, if I do not get the truth soon, I must demand you to turn your people in for questioning. We must find the truth no matter what,” Qing Zhangru said.

Bladedance glared at him, but she couldn’t deny his words. She wasn’t in a place where she could use her authority as well as she would want to, and it didn’t even have anything to do with her being weak.

Even back in the day when she was at her peak, she would have to concede in such a situation.

“Now, now,” a voice appeared out of nowhere. “Let us not get hasty, senior Zhangru.”

Zhangru looked behind, and as he did, a massive White Tiger appeared next to them.

Alex’s eyes widened slightly, and Pearl gleamed in happiness.

Bai Jingshen had finally arrived.

“Junior, what do you think you are doing here? Return at once,” Zhangru said.

“Return?” Bai Jingshen asked. “Will senior Zhangru stop me from welcoming my own descendant to his ancestral home?”

“Your… descendant?” the dragon asked, a look of surprise on his face. “This one is your kin?”

“He is my great-grandson, so yes,” Bai Jingshen said. “But, that is not all. As you have heard already, he is the son of Qing Tianchui. And if I’m not mistaken, he happens to be a cousin of yours, does he not? A son of your youngest aunt, I believe?”

The dragon turned. “Are you saying he’s telling the truth?”

“He’s spoken nothing but the truth,” Bai Jingshen said. “By relation, he is your nephew, senior Zhangru. Although, given that he is my great-grandson when he’s only your nephew, I wonder where our seniority lies now. Perhaps, should you be the one calling me the senior instead?”
