Chapter 2847: To Save
Chapter 2847: To Save
The tree’s astonishment at his information was followed by pronounced doubt.
“How could there be anything growing in your Soul Space?” the tree asked. “That is impossible.”
“It’s not impossible. It is exactly what is happening,” Alex said. “I found the World Tree’s seed, and it has been growing inside my Soul Space ever since,” Alex said.
“But… how?” The tree still couldn’t make sense of it.
Alex further explained the size of his Soul Space and how there was an entire secret realm floating in there where the World Tree grew.
“If that is true, then I’m… I’m happy,” the tree said. “My sister isn’t dead.”
“She’s not.”
“Then… it was a good thing you came,” the tree said. “Will you save me too?”
Alex frowned upon hearing the question. “What do you mean? Are you dying?” he asked.
“I’m not,” the tree said. “But I do fear it. One of my sisters is dead, and the other lost in a realm that no one can visit. I do not wish for either fate to come for me. Will you save me?”
Alex took a moment and nodded. “I do not know how you can be saved, but I will,” he said. “What do you want me to do?”
“Take my seed,” the tree said. “Give me life, should I ever die.”
Alex took a moment and raised his eyebrows in surprise. “Your seed?” he said, turning his head toward the canopy above. The fruits that dangled in the branches up high could be seen.
“I will give you my fruit, and you can keep the seed,” the tree said. “They are far more potent than my sap and can help you in other ways as well. Consume the fruit, and keep the seed.”
Alex slowly nodded. “I will,” he said. “But will the seed grow? As far as I’m aware, there can only be one of you. Is that not the case?”
“I… do not know,” the tree said. “For a world that is overlooked by the Heaven, that is the case. But for a world inside of your Soul Space, I do not know if things will turn out differently.”
“Only one of me can exist in this world, but your Soul Space can be considered a different world entirely. Maybe more of me can grow there. However, Heaven is what gives me the blessing I have. I may not grow to be as large anywhere else or do half the things I can do right now.”
Alex nodded slowly, taking in its information when he heard what it said. “Wait, do you need Heaven to become yourself fully?” he asked.
“Yes.”
“Then… is the World Tree in my Soul Space never going to be a true World Tree?” he asked.
“It will certainly never be as potent,” the tree said. “Even if just once, she needs to connect to Heaven. She needs the blessing of her mother and father.”
Alex took in a deep breath and nodded. “Alright, I understand. I will help you,” he said. “But…”
His eyes looked at the fruits again. “Those fruits are massive, so the seeds must be massive as well,” he said. “I currently cannot take anything into my Soul Space because of a seal put upon me. Until I get rid of that seal, I cannot take anything else in.”
“A seal?” the tree asked. “What sort of seal is it?”
“It was put on me by one of the humans’ so-called Gods,” Alex said. “I keep trying to fight it, but it keeps regenerating. Until I get rid of it, you will have to wait.”
The tree thought for a bit. “Maybe we can help,” it said. “I cannot sense it properly. Please let the Guardian Tiger take a look at it.”
The Guardian Tiger arrived at his side in its cub form, floating next to his chest. It took a moment and frowned. Its mouth remained shut, but Alex could hear its words now. It had connected itself to a conversation between Alex and the tree.
“It’s one of them, cousin,” the Guardian Tiger said. “The humans that have managed to acquire the power of a god.”
“This is… annoying,” the tree said.
“God?” Alex asked with a confused look. “What do you mean they’ve managed to acquire a god’s power?”
“It is as we say. They have found ways to do it,” the Guardian Tiger said.
“So what? They’re a True God now?” Alex asked, stunned. He was pretty sure there were only two True Gods: The Sun God and the Moon Goddess. How were there suddenly more gods?
“Not truly,” the tree said. “They are still human, but also partly god. They would be more like…”
“A Half-God!” Alex finished, eyes widening.
“That is an accurate term for them, yes,” the Guardian Tiger said.
Alex remembered when he had first heard about the half-gods. Rosemist had mentioned that there were gods above the false gods that could be called Half-Gods. He didn’t know the difference yet, but it was clear that one was better than the other.
The Storm God was a Half-God, and his seal was on Alex. In the True God’s absence, he was the strongest being in all realms.
How the hell was he supposed to do anything now?
“How do I get rid of this seal then?” Alex asked. “Can you help me?”
“I do not know if we can,” the tree said. “The power of a Half-God is beyond even us.”
“Yes,” the Guardian Tiger said. “However, it might not be beyond you.”
Alex’s eyes narrowed. “What do you mean?”
“The Half-God is strong, but it does not match the power of a True God,” the Guardian Tiger said. “You already have part of the power. That should have made the seal weaker than it really was supposed to be.”
“Should you improve your body even more, the seal should weaken. Should you continue that, there will come a point where the seal will weaken to a point where you can get rid of it all on your own.”
