Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 2844: The Tree

Chapter 2844: The Tree

The cub’s words roused the three from their stupor and they jumped onto the land. The sandy beach had nothing else growing on it, all nutrients it could provide swallowed into the tree that was growing.

Alex turned back around, watching the leaf silently floating on the calm sea. There were no waves in the sea, no turbulence.

He looked up at the canopy, trying to see signs of light. The canopy was so thick that there was absolutely no light breaking through them at all. The darkness persisted, but he believed he could see something up there.

Some objects dangled by the branches.

No doubt they were fruits of the tree. He would have to go in closer to look at what the fruits were like.

He walked over to the closest root to him and felt along its surface. He found the Elixir sticking to his hand again.

“We are correct, aren’t we, Senior?” Alex asked the cub. “This tree is what is creating Elixir that is helping improve everyone’s body cultivation?”

“Yes, you are correct,” the Guardian Tiger said.

“How?” Alex asked.

“Why don’t you ask the tree the question yourself?” the cub asked. “Come, you won’t be able to talk to it because of your suppression here. You will need to contact the base of the tree itself.”

“Trees can talk back to you?” the old man asked in surprise. “Are trees intelligent?”

“Most of them are,” Bladedance said. “But I’ve never heard of one being able to talk back to you once they’ve given up on being a human. The most they can do is communicate basic emotions, and even that they struggle with a lot of the time.”

“Then can we talk to this tree?” the old man asked.

“It seems so,” Bladedance said. “We’ll know soon how well it can communicate.”

She began walking on ahead, with the cub, while the other two followed behind. There was a root that dug into the ground before them, acting as a slope for them to walk on.

The soles beneath their shoes were sticky with the Elixir they walked on, making it a little uncomfortable to take every step.

“Shouldn’t we take this Elixir?” the old man whispered into Alex’s ear. “We can gather more in a day here, than we can in years outside.”

Alex believed the same as well. But he wasn’t sure if he was allowed to. “Let us wait until we’ve talked to the tree and received its permission.”

The old man thought for a moment and continued on.

Bladedance continued surveying the surroundings, taking in the information. Something about all of this was itching at her mind, coming dangerously close to understanding the tree’s identity.

She had dedicated her life to fighting and didn’t know much about everything else, so she struggled a little with it. Had it been the scholarly gods such as the Wine God or the Alchemy God, they would’ve likely recognized it.

Not to mention the Nature God, who inherently knew all life in nature in existence.

The tree’s trunk was close by now, having walked for just a short few minutes. They arrived at it not long after, and the cub stepped to the side.

“I have brought you to the master of this realm. You two may communicate with them as you wish,” the cub said to Alex and the old man. He turned to Bladedance. “You will just observe.”

Bladedance frowned, feeling annoyed at the situation, but she complied. She didn’t wish to die.

“Ask good questions. Find out important details.”

Alex nodded and moved forward. “Do I just… press my hand on the trunk?” he asked.

“Yes,” the cub said.

The two of them both did as they were told.

Alex touched one of the many trunks growing out of the ground, closing his eyes. He could feel the Elixir on the surface of the trunk as well. Only now did he come to understand that the mind-bendingly amazing ingredient that could empower their body far more than any body tempering art could, was nothing more than the resin of this tree.

Such a fascinating revelation was one he could have never foreseen.

Something touched Alex’s mind at the same time, connecting to it temporarily.

“I have waited years for your arrival,” a voice spoke into Alex’s mind, a feminine voice if anything, sweet to listen to. “I wished to see you again.”

Alex was surprised to hear any distinction in the voice at all.

“You waited for me?” Alex asked.

“Not you,” the tree answered. “Father.”

Alex frowned. “Are you speaking of my body? My body is me, so what’s the difference?”

“You are not there yet,” a voice spoke into Alex’s mind, the tree’s voice. “You are not Father yet.”

Alex was surprised. The tree was talking about the Sun God, was it not?

His body wasn’t the Sun God yet?

’I was right,’ Alex thought. ’I can improve my body once more.’

He had taken it from the Divine grade to Celestial grade long ago by consuming the fruit of the Nine Yang Divine Tree.

Now, he needed to take it to the God grade most likely. He had been distracted these past few years, but he should soon go back to consuming more Sunhearts. That was the only way.

“You call me, or at least my body, Father,” Alex said. “Did the Sun God have anything to do with your birth?”

“Yes, and no,” the tree answered. “Father is our Father, but it was Mother who blessed us, changed us for the better.”

Alex’s eyes narrowed. “By that, you must mean that you were blessed by the—”

The moment Alex’s thoughts reached what he was saying, his spine grew cold and his heart skipped a beat.

His eyes opened, staring at the tree before him, all facts about it converging in his mind at once.

The Moon Goddess had blessed 3 trees known as the 3 Demonic Plants.

One of them helped improve one’s Qi—the World Tree, the other helped improve one’s mind—the Soul Mother Tree.

And the last helped improve one’s body.

This was that tree.

The progenitor through which came the Divine Devil fruits.

Sibling to the World Tree.

This was the Tree of Life.
