Chapter 2739 - 2739: Checking on the Demon realm
Alex hadn’t fully expected his command to work, but he was more than happy to see that it did. When the Yellow Fog disappeared, its destructive prowess disappeared along with it.
He waited around for a moment, wondering if it would come back on its own.
It didn’t.
Alex went around his Soul Space, searching for any signs of the fog still remaining there, but so far as he could tell, there was absolutely none at all.
He had successfully managed to strip away the fog from every spot within his Soul Space.
Alex took a moment to sigh in relief.
If the fog’s power was anywhere close to what it was within his Spiritual Sea, nothing in this world would’ve survived, including the two trees in the Demon realm.
The only reason it likely hadn’t reached that level of destruction was because the fog hadn’t reached that potency just yet.
Alex wanted to see if he was fully in control or not, so he called upon the fog once again.
Thin fog with a destructive aura around it appeared before him in a tiny space. As expected, he was in command.
Alex let the fog disappear again, and went back to where Memory was.
“You can drop the barrier now, Memory,” Alex said. “It’s gone.”
“It’s gone?” Memory asked, slowly dropping the barrier. She checked her surroundings and finally let go of the things she had collected. “Oh, it’s really gone,” she said. “What was that, Master?”
“Something that should have been under my control,” Alex said. “It ran amok because I wasn’t here to control it.”
“Oh…” Memory said with a hint of surprise. She didn’t ask many questions.
All locations were devoid of the fog, so it was safe everywhere now.
To call it a fog was perhaps not right just yet. It just wasn’t that dense to be a fog or a mist. That was part of the reason why its potency was low as well.
Still, it was the same fog that had always been present in his Spiritual Sea, or at least, one that did the same thing.
‘Is it really the same?’ Alex wondered. ‘Or did I create a new one by evolving my body?’
The fog hadn’t fully formed just yet, which was likely an indication of just how far he had come with evolving his body. If the fog was in any way similar to the one in his Spiritual Sea, then he shouldn’t even be a tenth of the way done.
He would need to consume thousands of Sunhearts before he fully evolved it.
Now that the danger was gone, he could take his time with the rest of the things.
Alex tested his hypothesis regarding what he could and could not send in or take out of his Soul Space. He tried first with a storage bag, and it just could not pass through the tiny hole in the seal.
The space inside of it made it impossible for the hole to allow it through. Alex tried with some other things of the same size that weren’t storage bags. When he tried to pull them out, the seal seemingly bulged and a great pain came upon Alex.
Alex hadn’t prepared for it, so he immediately let it go. The pain vanished.
‘Dammit!’ he thought, annoyance building up inside of him. Even though he had broken through the seal, he hadn’t yet done anything except be able to contact the inside.
That alone was good, but he wanted proper use of his Soul Space. Having that tiny hole was not enough at all.
Alex made the resolution then to work on slowly improving himself so he could tear more holes in the seal, all up until he could completely destroy it.
Alex returned his focus to the Demon realm and saw the thick Yang that lay outside of it. Yang itself was heavy in his Soul Space after consuming many Sunhearts, but this place in particular, right outside of the spatial pocket, had a much thicker concentration of Yang.
It was almost as if it was all being gathered to one location, but none of it had access to that location.
‘It must be the tree,’ Alex figured.
He allowed a portion of the Demon realm, right next to the Nine Yang Divine Tree, to open up, and the Yang energy was suddenly sucked inside of it.
Alex watched the tree consume the Yang and felt around with his Spiritual sense. Unlike the World Tree, he could at least observe this tree, even though it was incredibly uncomfortable.
Every time he tried to look at it with his Spiritual sense, it felt as though he was sticking his face right next to the fireplace. Not strong enough to burn, but strong enough to make him jump back.
The Nine Yang Divine Tree had gotten stronger from what Alex could see. By now, it had fully consumed all of the Spirit veins inside of the 1st mountain, with its roots extending to the second mountain as well.
Alex didn’t always check on the tree with his Spiritual sense thanks to Whisker’s presence, so it had been a long time since he had to do this. He was surprised just how much the tree had grown in that time.
If he wasn’t wrong, the Nine Yang Divine Tree was beginning to show signs of becoming an Immortal. Would this tree turn human? Or would it remain a tree as the one that gave its seed had been?
“Whisker said that this tree has been growing hotter and brighter over time,” Alex said. “Is that still the case?”
“It’s still continuing to get hotter,” Pearl answered. “But it has slowed down a lot since Whisker left and those yellow tears appeared in the sky. You must have done something on the outside, right?”
“More like I stopped doing something,” Alex said.
“What exactly is going on, brother?” Pearl asked. “Were you captured by the Sword God? Are you safe?”
Alex explained everything.
