Chapter 864: Triple Advantage in My Hands
Chapter 864 -713: Triple Advantage in My Hands
Zhang Shenyi, living up to his name, is a man known for his lifelong cautious bravery.
Whenever there is the slightest hint that things might be amiss, he engages in simulations and preparations with the worst-case scenario in mind.
At this moment, a very minute sense of unease gently tugged at his keen nerve endings.
Fortunately, when they set out, they had already pre-emptively elevated the danger level of the current target by several grades. This unease was still within his acceptable range, part of a safe level of unease.
After all, since taking on the mission, he had already forced the potential danger level of the target to increase four times beyond the original basis.
What does this imply?
It implies that the Worries Relief Studio has allocated sufficient “redundancy” for this mission to handle four major unexpected events or conflicts far exceeding expectations.
This kind of tactical tolerance rate is simply ridiculous.
This might be a bit hard to understand, but to put it metaphorically, it’s like in a video game where you’ve already prepared in advance for the Boss having four transformation phases.
In reality, you know it’s impossible.
No game could design such an insanely challenging Boss…right?
Now, the “random intrusion” by White Mask could be considered an unplanned variable, but in Zhang Shenyi’s prudent evaluation system, this unexpected event at most consumed one redundancy level.
4-1=3
They still held the advantage of thrice the pre-battle preparation.
Zhang Shenyi, staring at the computer screen with the steady-moving vehicles, slowly asked:
“How long until the target vehicle arrives?”
Xu Yingyan promptly reported:
“Report, Captain. According to current vehicle speed and road condition simulation, the target convoy is expected to arrive at the incident site in 50 seconds.”
Zhang Shenyi nodded slightly, his sight not leaving the screen, continuing to inquire:
“How long until Chen Town reaches point B?”
Xu Yingyan promptly replied:
“He’s climbing quickly and is halfway there. Assuming no unexpected interference, he should safely reach point B in 11 seconds.”
50 seconds and 11 seconds.
Two key time points collide in Zhang Shenyi’s mind.
Chen Town’s safety must be maximized; this is his duty as a captain.
And the intentions of the target vehicle are unclear—is it just passing by? Reinforcement? Or something else altogether?
In any case, they cannot rely on the hope of being “ignored” by the opposition.
Zhang Shenyi deliberated a variety of calculations in his mind.
Team members may not know the complex evaluation happening within their captain’s mind, but they firmly believe the final action plan he gives will undoubtedly be the most secure.
This unconditional trust has been gradually established and solidified over dozens of past missions.
Suddenly, Zhang Shenyi clapped his hands.
In the next moment, all team members inside the room stood up, movements perfectly synchronized, turning their bodies to face the captain, waiting for task assignments.
Zhang Shenyi wasted no words, issuing commands clearly and quickly:
“All team members, immediately enter combat mode.”
“Group One! Navigate from the rear of the building, avoiding roadside sightlines, proceed full speed to point B to assist Chen Town. If danger is encountered, preemptive firing is permitted.”
“Group Two! Move from the six o’clock direction, utilize the grass for stealth, relocate to the roadside flank, coordinate at points 41-73 and establish ambush placements on-site.”
“Group Three! Split into two teams, independently search the vicinity for optimal sniping and observation points, set up long-range fire at once!”
“Group Four! Stand by at current location, as a mobile reserve, ready for support at any time.”
Zhang Shenyi paused briefly, finally remarking:
“Move!”
“Understood!”
“Yes!”
“Received!”
Crisp and neat responses echoed repeatedly, without any hesitation.
Once commands are issued, the motions are rapid and decisive!
Team members quickly acted according to their designated groups simultaneously.
Almost at the instant the word “move” landed, shadows inside the room seemed to vanish like a magic trick.
The men from the Mechanical Department hadn’t even opened their mouths to inquire or voice disagreement, just witnessing an instant blur of movements; upon focusing again, the slightly congested room suddenly became empty.
Only three remained in place, including him.
One was Zhang Shenyi, already seated in front of the computer, taking up Xu Yingyan’s former spot, fingers swiftly tapping on the keyboard.
It was evident that his speed in entering command codes wasn’t as fast as Xu Yingyan’s, but he certainly wasn’t slow either, displaying a considerable degree of proficiency.
Either way, the lines of green command code on the computer screen were completely indecipherable to the man from the Mechanical Department.
In fact, the essence of those lines of code boils down to one sentence—Sentinel and all drone control permissions temporarily handed over to the Intelligent Brain Xiaoyou of the studio, entering automated trustee combat mode.
Meanwhile, another team member inside the room simply worked his jaw, spitting out his chewing gum before retrieving a handful of button bombs from the pocket of his tactical vest.
As implied by the name, button bombs are made the size of buttons, looking inconspicuously hidden.
Then he paced around the room, casually sticking these “buttons” on the inner side of door frames, below window sills, and at the corners of load-bearing pillars, movements artistic as if decorating his home.
Watching this, the man from the Mechanical Department felt a tingling at the scalp, unable to hold back any longer, hurriedly drawing near Zhang Shenyi, angrily exclaiming:
“What are you doing? I’ve already told you to temporarily halt Feng Mu’s capture. There’s an important figure in the vehicle.”
Zhang Shenyi’s gaze didn’t leave the screen, his fingers continued tapping the keyboard, and he replied calmly:
