Chapter 845: Guiding Light
Chapter 845 -703: Guiding Light
“Indeed, in the case of Jade Garden, there are too many secrets kept from me, even now they still choose to keep me in the dark.
But Feng Mu can know, he can even confidently give an ‘unrelated’ guarantee!
Behind Feng Mu should be Madam Li and Mr. Wang. It seems that Feng Mu’s position in the minds of these big figures is far above mine.”
A surge of indescribable jealousy and anger filled his heart, but was quickly replaced by a practical thought:
“Well then, they don’t trust me, they trust Feng Mu, and Feng Mu trusts me, so I’ll take Feng Mu as a guiding light and believe he won’t make mistakes.”
Actually, Li Shang is not someone who can be easily persuaded by Feng Mu’s words, as a Detective, his suspicion runs deep.
But he couldn’t resist, from the first step he took into the Second Prison today, he had already completely fallen into the trap set by Feng Mu.
Feng Mu seemed to say just a few words to him, but in reality, every scene he heard and saw today in the Second Prison was meticulously designed by Feng Mu.
Just as he deliberately set up the atmosphere for a pleasant conversation with Feng Mu, so did Feng Mu quietly prepare everything for a friendly exchange.
Meanwhile.
Outside the gates of the Second Prison, a black sedan stopped steadily just beyond the warning line.
The car door opened, and two men in well-tailored black suits got out of the car.
They stood firm, looked up towards the surveillance camera high above the prison entrance, and one of them raised his hand and waved casually yet confidently at the camera, as if saying:
“We have arrived, quickly open the door!”
…
A straight distance of about a thousand meters outside the high walls of the Second Prison is a gas station long since abandoned.
The peeling paint revealed the gray and defeated cement walls underneath, and a few fuel pumps stood crookedly like steel skeletons drained of their insides.
The roof sign has long disappeared, leaving behind a few rusty iron frames, the glass of the doors and windows long shattered, only the jagged edges remaining.
Dust slowly floated and sunk in the beams of light shooting through the broken windows, under the light were abandoned shelves and collapsed counters, thick dust covered everything.
But beneath this dilapidated appearance was hidden an extreme sense of advanced technology that was out of place with the surrounding environment.
Five pairs of eyes, or rather, five arrays of sensors covered under precise armor, coldly gazed at the distant prison gate like snake compound eyes.
Covered in matte black full exoskeletal armor like killing machines from a future battlefield, either sitting or standing, scattered in the room’s shadowy corners.
The armor’s lines were sharp, with complex hydraulic transmission structures at the joints, subtle energy flows flickering at the seams, emitting a barely audible hum.
In the sky, a “sparrow” was circling above the Second Prison in an unusually stable trajectory.
Its feather coloration, flying posture were no different from a real sparrow, even occasionally making feather grooming motions.
But upon closer inspection, you’d notice its pea-sized eyes flickering with an extremely faint, unnatural blue light.
It was overlooking the scene below, where the vehicle had just stopped in front of the prison gate, transmitting the footage back in real-time to the abandoned gas station a thousand meters away.
Inside the building, four of the five men’s faces were covered with deathly white masks.
Within the room, one of the White Masks, burly in physique, was sitting on a discarded tire.
One of his eye pupils released a ripple-like light, interweaving and condensing in the air in front of him, eventually forming a clear holographic projection.
It was the real-time scene before the Second Prison gate, even the fine dust blown by the vehicle was clearly visible.
An eye not encumbered was spinning restlessly under the mask, seeming quite impatient.
The voice coming from under the mask had a metallic friction-like texture:
“Tsk, just a mere Prison Guard, isn’t the officer being too cautious? Designing to lure him out takes so much trouble?
We can storm in directly, and within three minutes we can snatch him out, who can stop us? No need for such hassle….”
Before he could finish speaking, the White Mask leaning against a broken cement pillar nearby let out a snicker, the sound shrill and cutting:
“Iron Claw, if you don’t have a brain, just keep your mouth shut, don’t expose your pathetic IQ.”
“Shadow Scorpion, who are you calling brainless?!”
Iron Claw jerked his head around, the projection in his eyes dissipating, replaced by a violent killing intent perceptible even through the mask.
“Sss——!”
The air seemed instantly torn apart by something extremely sharp, emitting a high-frequency vibrating hum.
It was a high-frequency vibrating alloy blade, shooting out from Iron Claw’s arm armor.
The blade vibrated, as if the surrounding air fractured like a mirror, emerging cracks, light distorting within.
The White Mask standing at Iron Claw’s side didn’t even have time to react, his head was instantly pierced by the vibrating blade like hot butter cut by a knife.
A scarlet blood splash, mixed with some white thick matter, burst out violently from the rupture, splattering onto the dust-covered floor.
The body of the White Mask with the pierced head stiffened for a moment, then softly collapsed forward.
“I’m talking about you, Iron Claw! Fool who can’t learn a lesson!”
A taunting voice with a cruel smile abruptly came from another dark corner of the room.
Almost simultaneously with the voice, there was a sharp sound of breaking through the air.
A black shadow, like a long-dormant scorpion swinging out its deadly tail sting, brutally tore through the air, carrying a gust of rancid wind, and fiercely lashed at Iron Claw’s masked sidehead.
It turned out to be a section of mechanical scorpion tail gleaming with dark metallic luster and topped with a sharp barb, the tail hook slicing through the air, accompanied by an excruciating shrill whistle.
At the critical juncture!
Iron Claw displayed remarkable reaction speed inconsistent with his bulky physique, his head jerked to the other side, the deadly stinger brushed past his mask, leaving a tiny scratch on his hard mask.
At the same time, he flicked his wrist, several high-frequency vibrating alloy blades continued to snap out from the back of his hand, not just an inch now but a full half foot long, glimmering with icy sharpness.
“Clang——!”
An ear-piercing clash of metal erupted!
The five finger blades he had snapped out precisely blocked that scorpion tail hook-like deadly strike, the collision point bursting with a plume of dazzling sparks, the powerful impact slightly trembling Iron Claw’s palm.
The scorpion tail hook was blocked and bounced, flexibly twirling in the air, flicking back towards the other side of the room.
There, dust seemed to be pushed away by an invisible force, and a silhouette slowly emerged from visually distorted light.
Equally covered in exoskeletal armor, but its design differed completely from Iron Claw’s thick and strong prowess.
His armor lines were thinner, mysterious, with joints featuring multi-directional spherical structures, and connected behind by a mechanical scorpion tail hook two meters long with linked segments.
The whole person appeared like an upright, deadly beautiful mechanical scorpion.
He is “Shadow Scorpion.”
“Shadow Scorpion” swung the mechanical tail behind him agilely, as if it was part of his own body.
He extended his palm, and slightly hooked it towards the White Mask figure that had just got “head exploded” by Iron Claw.
The next moment, the figure whose head was pierced and spewing out “blood sprays,” started to flicker and distort severely like a poor signal holographic projection, then vanished suddenly with a light “pop” sound in the air.
Only a rice-sized silver particle flashing with a faint light flew towards Shadow Scorpion as if drawn by a magnet.
“Said you have no brain, and you are not convinced.”
Shadow Scorpion’s voice had a cat-and-mouse-like mockery,
“Couldn’t even distinguish my Phantom Bee, even given the chance to sneak attack, you’ll never find where my real body is. If I wanted, the Dark Erosion Agent on the stinger would have been enough to turn your head into a boiling mess.”
