Chapter 836: Chapter 699: Professional, So Damn Professional

The scene inside the room surprised him again—it was very spacious, forming a stark contrast with the narrow corridor outside.

The interior design style was extremely technological and futuristic, with a color scheme dominated by cold gray and dark blue.

In the center of the room, there was a massive LCD screen almost occupying the entire wall, emitting a dim blue light.

Below the screen, there were two rows of long work desks arranged in a curved line on both sides, densely packed with at least a dozen high-end computer monitors, showing various data streams and windows that he couldn’t understand, rapidly scrolling by.

In addition to these, there were some strangely shaped electronic devices with various indicator lights flashing, models he had never seen, very high-tech.

A dozen men and women dressed in uniform black suits were sitting at the computers, their fingers swiftly tapping on the keyboards, producing a dense and rhythmic "clattering" sound.

They were focused, their eyes fixed on the screens, showing no reaction to the person entering, as if they were immersed in their own digital world.

To an outsider, this scene could easily be mistaken for that of a tech company.

But the man from the Mechanical Department knew, since it was Black Glove, their main business must be something like murder and arson.

Upon entering the room, he briefly scanned around and then focused his gaze on the figure standing in the center of the room, with his back to him.

It was an unusually tall man, estimated to be close to two meters, with broad shoulders and a thick back, just standing there, he naturally exuded a mountain-like oppressive presence, making the entire room’s air seem heavier.

The man from the Mechanical Department took a deep breath of the cold air, striving to keep his voice steady, and began,

"We should have talked on the phone, I am..."

His words were abruptly interrupted, as the other party turned around, revealing a similarly expressionless face:

"Don’t tell me who you are, and I won’t tell you who I am.

Names, identities, are meaningless here and have nothing to do with the ’business’ we are about to conduct."

He extended his fan-like large hand, opened it in front of the man from the Mechanical Department:

"Give me your business card."

The man from the Mechanical Department was intimidated by the other’s presence, his accumulated anger and that bit of pitiful bureaucratic superiority quickly dissipated.

He could clearly sense that, in the shadows on both sides of the door behind him, there were two undisguised killing intents firmly locked onto him.

He had no doubt that if he made any move at the moment or uttered a "no," he might be bleeding on the spot the next second.

Who do you guess would be bleeding?

The man from the Mechanical Department obediently pulled the business card from his pocket and handed it to the other party.

The tall man took the business card, without even glancing at it, and casually handed it to a young woman wearing headphones at the work desk nearby.

The woman took the card and skillfully inserted it into a device slot similar to a card reader but structurally more complex.

The indicator light on the device immediately lit up, emitting a faint blue glow, about three seconds later, the light turned green and emitted a minor "beep."

Then, the woman retrieved the business card from the slot but did not return it to the man from the Mechanical Department, instead, she gently squeezed it between her thumb and forefinger.

A cracking sound similar to the shattering of a PCB echoed, the white business card transformed into countless tiny fragments and powder.

The heart of the man from the Mechanical Department jumped violently, almost leaping out of his throat.

In an instant, countless thoughts flashed through his mind—Was there something wrong with the card? Did the verification fail? Was Special Commissioner Zheng’s item a fake?

Fortunately, the two-meter-tall man calmly said in an unperturbed tone,

"Alright, verification passed. Now, we can discuss business. As per our previous agreement, we can help you with one matter. Please go on."

The man from the Mechanical Department: "..." Almost scared to death.

His mind was still a bit muddled, but looking at the destroyed card, he seemed to slightly grasp that these people might not be a simple Black Glove operation by the Member of Parliament.

At least, not purely a Black Glove affair.

He exhaled, decided not to ponder too much, and clearly stated his intention:

"I want you to help me secretly capture someone and then, interrogate them as per my requirements to extract the needed confession."

The tall man shook his head and said,

"Those are two tasks."

The man from the Mechanical Department frowned slightly, rephrasing,

"Then just capture the person. The requirement is to do it secretly, unseen by anyone, and they must be alive and able to speak."

The tall man then nodded, accepting the single task:

"Alright. Who is the target?"

The man from the Mechanical Department finally revealed a slight smile, coolly mentioned a name:

"Feng Mu, just a minor prison guard at the Second Prison. If this needed to be done covertly and if I had reliable personnel at hand, there would be no need to come to you.

After all, dealing with such a minor character is completely effortless."

At this point, the man from the Mechanical Department felt that exchanging a business card for such a trivial matter was truly a loss.

He strongly suspected that Special Commissioner Zheng might not have known the business card was one-time-use, or else, how could he let him use it for such a minor affair.

But, alas, now the card had been destroyed right in front of him, it was too late to say anything. He could only console himself that it was like using a sledgehammer to kill a chicken, ensuring absolute success.

The tall man showed no expression, did not respond to the man from the Mechanical Department, but instead turned to his subordinates at the computer to command:
