Chapter 626 340: The Power of the Immortal Mark, Slaying a Half-Step Two-Flower!

The arrows would eventually run out. After several rounds of arrow rain, seeing the Sea Pirates' offensive growing sluggish, Baili Hongtang immediately issued the order for the Cyan Flood Dragon Hall disciples to charge and launch a surprise assault.

"Each head is at least one hundred taels, brothers, charge for me!"

"Three hundred taels in the bag!"

A burly man in a Cyan Flood Dragon Hall Martial Robe grinned; with the battle axe in his hand he cleaved a Sea Pirate and the Demon Beast armor on him cleanly in half at the waist, then stretched out his bloodthirsty tongue to lick his lips.

"Today I'm gonna kill to my heart's content and have myself a fat New Year!"

Enemies meeting, eyes blaze red with hatred. The disciples of the Cyan Fish Gang all had their morale soaring sky-high. Their faction had not had a good time of it before, suppressed by Gongyang Jue's people; tangled up in that were these Sea Pirates as well. Now they intended to vent all that pent-up anger.

The Sea Pirates under Sikong Li's command were all desperadoes who licked blood off the blade's edge. Facing the Cyan Fish Gang's charge, they did not panic too much. They all knew there was no escape now; a death struggle still held a sliver of hope, so they fearlessly met the enemy, unafraid of death.

Thousands of men clashed in a tangled melee, their momentum even more perilous than the tens-of-thousands-strong great battle when the Qingyun Three Counties eradicated the Black Mountain Army, because everyone present today was no ordinary person, but all Martial Artists who had stepped onto the path of Cultivation. Their surging Qi Blood and Martial Force turned into gusting winds that completely churned up the dawn mist, dyeing it an eerie blood-red hue.

The two sides were locked in combat, unable to decide victory or defeat in a short time.

Baili Hongtang sat in command of the overall situation; while issuing orders, she continuously bent bow and nocked arrow, slaying one tricky Sea Pirate after another that the Cyan Fish Gang encountered.

"I'll leave this side to Big Brother and Second Sister."

The fight between Baili Feng and Sikong Li required no intervention from him, and with Second Sister sitting in the rear, the enemies on the front line also did not need his attention. He chose to insert himself from the flank.

Immortal Body (entry-level 45%)

Ten Immortal Golden Spots at his brow, limbs, waist and abdomen, shoulders and back slowly surfaced from within his body. He had gone out to sea to Cultivate Immortal Body for nearly two months, but paper talk always felt shallow; a Martial Arts technique ultimately had to be tested in actual use to verify its effect.

On the way, at a thought from Su Mu, the Immortal Golden Spot on his right leg sank down; with a casual flick of his toes, a blood-stained Long Saber on the ground spun, turning into a streak of flowing light that shot out.

"Sssht!"

The streak of light tore through the sky with a howling roar, rings of white waves surging at the saber tip, as if it had broken the sound barrier, and in the space of a breath it crossed dozens of zhang.

A one-eyed Sea Pirate wearing an eye patch had a ferocious face, both hands lifting a great axe high. Under the axe blade, a Cyan Fish Gang disciple was terrified to the extreme, and just as the battle axe was about to fall—

"Puchi!"

With a crisp sound like cloth tearing, the Sea Pirate's flesh and blood were instantly rent apart. His chopping motion froze for a moment, a line of blood suddenly spreading from his abdomen, the Martial Artist's scorching hot blood splashing all over that Cyan Fish Gang disciple.

The next instant, the Sea Pirate's body suddenly split into two, severed at the waist. Judging from the disbelief on his face, he didn't even know how he had died.

The Cyan Fish Gang disciple, drenched into a man of blood, trembled violently in fright. When he came back to his senses, gratitude rose in his heart, but the howling gale kept him from seeing clearly that figure moving at a shocking speed.

"Besides its powerful defensive strength… Immortal Golden Spots also give an astounding boost to power!"

With a single strike he blasted a Sea Pirate to death; Su Mu's heart burned with excitement. That strike just now, he had not used much Qi Blood or Gang Force, nor had he activated techniques such as Three-Turn Dragon Elephant Skill or White Dragon Power.

Other than the blessing of the Immortal Golden Spots on his flesh body, there was only a trace of Qi Blood and Gang Force involved.

Yet the lethality of that strike exceeded Su Mu's own expectations, which made him even more certain that his body was indeed undergoing some subtle transformation, walking the correct path toward opening a Secret Realm.

At the same time, the might of Immortal Body truly was no weaker than the Cyan Fish Gang's town-gang ultimate skill, Flood Dragon Shocking Skill!

Along the way, several more Sea Pirates were run through by the Long Saber. At this point, power surged in Su Mu's palm as he casually grabbed the hilt; the Long Saber let out a light hum, all the blood on it shaken off to reveal its cold gleam.

"Again!"

This time, at a thought from Su Mu, the four Immortal Golden Spots on his right arm holding the saber all surfaced. Flesh and blood, tendons and bones, even the marrow wriggled and resonated together; the four Immortal Golden Spots then condensed at his wrist into an Immortal Mark about an inch long.

The mark was not especially dazzling, but the dark-gold flow upon it faintly revealed a terrifying power and might that made one's heart palpitate.

"All together, butcher this brat!"

A small leader among the five or six Sea Pirates noticed Su Mu's earlier move. Each of them, faces wary, surrounded him. Though none of them were Fourth-Grade Martial Artists, each had steeped in the Fifth Grade Realm for over a dozen years, some even longer.

In a great melee, this was not a one-on-one duel; below the Upper Three Grades, a higher grade did not necessarily mean one would live longer. The murderous aura they five or six had accumulated over years of slaughter, combined in a joint kill, could make even a Fourth-Grade Martial Artist die with regret on the spot if he was the least bit careless.

Fourth-Grade Cultivators of major forces in Donglai County who had died under their combined assault were not few.

The murderous aura on them and the Fifth-Grade Yin-Yang Martial Force fluctuations quickly drew Baili Hongtang's attention. With her innate-gifted eyes, her perception of all power and aura was extremely sharp.

Almost instinctively, she bent bow and set arrow, shifted her aim, and prepared to step in to assist.

But in the next instant, upon seeing that the one they were surrounding was her Third Brother, Su Mu, she silently mourned a moment for the Sea Pirates, then immediately moved her great bow away.

As Second Sister, she had immense confidence in Su Mu.

Baili Hongtang's own Martial Dao aptitude was already that of a genius, even at the level of a heaven-blessed prodigy. Yet whenever she stood before this man who had once possibly been her future husband and was now her Third Brother, she always felt as if she were gazing up at a lofty mountain.
