Engagement Annulled? Now The Husbands Kneel and Beg for Her Favor
Chapter 466: Not Even in the Door and Already So Unruly
The train passed through a tunnel, leaving the city behind.
Sunlight streamed through the windows, filling the train car. Motes of dust danced in the air.
Amidst the play of light and shadow, Ye Linyuan lowered his head to kiss Jiang Qingli.
His movements were always crisp and clean, but just as his thin lips were about to touch the girl’s, the dust motes in the air suddenly froze.
Not far away, a train attendant pushing a dining cart this way became rigid, completely still.
Xie Youchen had activated his Superpower in an instant. The entire train seemed to have been put on pause.
But Ye Linyuan was completely unaffected.
He raised an eyebrow, looked at the grim-faced Xie Youchen walking over, and quirked his brow again. "I’m saying goodbye to my female master. What’s the rush, Marshal Xie?"
Xie Youchen said coldly, "The only people on this train besides military personnel are criminals. If you want to be locked in the brig, I have no objection."
Ye Linyuan’s lips curled into a mocking smile. "Such a pretentious act."
The fingers holding the girl’s hand twitched. Ye Linyuan lowered his gaze and said, "Just going to stand by and watch?"
Jiang Qingli: "..."
Jiang Qingli’s level was high, so of course she wasn’t affected by the Time Stop. But a proper female master shouldn’t speak carelessly when two of her Beast Husbands are fighting over her. One wrong move and she’d be showing favoritism!
To ensure she treated them both equally, Jiang Qingli had pretended to be a statue, perfectly still, the moment she felt Xie Youchen activate his Superpower.
Who knew that Ye Linyuan would refuse to give her the chance to be invisible. He insisted on dragging her into it, trying to make her side with him, the "official" one.
Jiang Qingli gave a dry laugh. Braving Xie Youchen’s murderous glare, she patted Ye Linyuan’s chest. "Mr. Ye, your use of idioms is getting better and better. You should teach Qin Muye a thing or two. But this is military territory. How can you just come and go as you please?"
After saying that, Jiang Qingli glared at Xie Youchen. "Marshal Xie, Superpowers are forbidden on the train. It’s normal for you to have countermeasures, but don’t use your Superpower unless it’s a critical moment. Conserve your energy. We still have a long way to go."
A few words of reprimand for each of them. Perfectly balanced!
But that wasn’t enough.
Before either of them could react, Jiang Qingli glanced down at her wrist and started pushing Ye Linyuan toward the door. "Ah, it’s getting late! Robots will be coming in for an inspection after we leave the city. You don’t want to be seen here, do you? Go on, head back. We’ll see each other in the First District!"
She rattled off a long string of words like a machine gun, giving no one a chance to speak.
Of course, neither of the two males intended to interrupt her.
They seemed to have reached a silent consensus—no matter how hostile they were toward each other, they would not put their female master in a difficult position.
Xie Youchen deactivated his Superpower.
Inside the train, the dust motes danced in the light once more, an announcement played over the broadcast system, and in the next car, an attendant bent down to ask an officer sitting by the window if he needed a meal.
Jiang Qingli breathed a sigh of relief.
But while Xie Youchen was dealt with, Ye Linyuan hadn’t left.
After Jiang Qingli finished speaking, the gloomy, serpentine man glanced at her bare wrist—she wasn’t wearing a watch at all—and grabbed it. He said slowly, "Since I’m already here, what’s the difference between one minute and ten?"
Jiang Qingli knew he was difficult. Just as she was about to say more, she saw Ye Linyuan plant one hand on the wall of the car, arching his body slightly to envelop most of her in the circle of his arm.
His golden, vertical pupils narrowed slightly. Ye Linyuan said in a low voice, "What did you just call me? Female master."
He used the two words "female master" to address her, as if reminding her of something.
Jiang Qingli understood what he meant, but she couldn’t bring herself to say it right now.
She glanced sideways at Xie Youchen, who was standing on the other side of the car, and the tips of her ears burned.
In the adjacent car, the attendant had already handed the food to the officer and was now pushing the cart this way.
The wheels rolled over the thick carpet, the faint sound especially clear in the quiet car.
The long fingers gripping Jiang Qingli’s wrist tightened. Jiang Qingli pursed her lips and said in a small voice, "Husband..."
Ye Linyuan raised his eyebrows. "Mm."
’He’s so smug!’
From behind her came a distinct, cold snort from Xie Youchen.
If looks could kill, Ye Linyuan would probably be nothing but dust.
Xie Youchen was about to step forward, but his terminal began to vibrate.
He had just used his Superpower, and the S-class train conductor had sensed it, assuming there was a problem, and hurriedly called to ask about the situation.
Xie Youchen pressed the ’accept call’ button, shot a warning glance at Ye Linyuan, and turned to take the call in the adjacent car.
Jiang Qingli let out another breath of relief, but worried that someone else might see Ye Linyuan, she pushed his shoulder and urged, "Okay, you should get back—mmph—"
Before she could finish, the young man cupped the back of her head with one hand and brought his mouth down on hers.
Caught completely off guard, Jiang Qingli could only let his serpentine tongue pry open her lips and plunder everything within, invading and conquering with wild force.
Her eyes flew open, but he, as if finding her insufficiently focused, raised a hand and covered them.
Once her vision was plunged into darkness, her other senses sharpened.
Her hearing, for example.
Jiang Qingli could clearly hear the broadcast announcements, every word of Xie Youchen’s conversation with the conductor at the junction between cars, and... the approaching footsteps of the attendant pushing the cart...
’Someone else is coming.’
’They’ll see us like this.’
Jiang Qingli pinched Ye Linyuan’s waist hard. He let out a low chuckle and slowly pulled away.
Ye Linyuan stared into her eyes, as if laughing at her cowardice, but he didn’t press further.
His scarlet, serpentine tongue slowly traced his lips. The young man’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and he spoke in a husky voice, "See you in the First District."
The second before the cart rolled in, the young man’s body dissolved into black mist and dissipated before her eyes.
When the attendant entered the car, he only saw Jiang Qingli standing by the window, seemingly looking at the scenery.
"Advisor Jiang." The attendant was also military personnel and greeted her. "Would you like anything to eat?"
"I don’t need anything to eat." Jiang Qingli didn’t turn around, her hands clasped behind her back as she gazed outside. "Could you please get me a glass of ice water?"
"Of course."
The attendant complied and turned to leave.
After taking a few steps, a belated worry struck him. Advisor Jiang’s voice had sounded a bit hoarse. ’Could she be coming down with a cold?’
This diligent attendant would never know that the Advisor Jiang who had just spoken to him with her back turned, her tone so composed, actually had ears that were completely flushed red.
As soon as the attendant was gone, Jiang Qingli whipped out her terminal and furiously fired off more than ten messages blasting Ye Linyuan.
He took them all without complaint and even asked after she stopped: [Mm. You can keep scolding me when we meet.]
Jiang Qingli: "..."
’It’s impossible to communicate with snakes!’
Jiang Qingli found a seat, pulled up a map, and checked their current progress.
On the map, the border between the Eleventh District and the Tenth District was marked in red.
This was a marking made by Yuan Liang. They hadn’t brought many people with them, mainly to mislead their opponents. During the spot checks, more allies would board the train and lie in wait to handle any crisis.
A gentle voice spoke up beside her. "Your eyes will get dry if you stare for too long. Have some water."
Jiang Qingli nodded and gave Baili Jing a smile, but her eyes remained glued to the screen.
Baili Jing knew how serious she was when she worked, so he didn’t press the matter. He was about to get up and leave when his gaze suddenly froze on her lips.
The girl hadn’t had a drink yet, but her lips glistened with moisture, the curve of her upper lip flushed red, as if she had just been forcefully kissed...
Footsteps sounded. Baili Jing looked up at Xie Youchen, who was walking in, and a chill flashed in his eyes.
’They haven’t even arrived, and he’s already acting up like this?’
