Endless Debt
Chapter 1521 - 69: Boundary Between Reality and Illusion (2)
Combining with his prior speculations, the Speaker’s ability to trigger time reversal may be confined to the Nest Core, and this Earthly Celestial Kingdom has persisted for nearly a century, with the Speaker alone unable to sustain it.
He may have constructed some special facility to further expand the power of the Fantasy Species, while he himself, to occupy absolute control over the entire Earthly Celestial Kingdom, integrated himself with the Fantasy Species.
Bologue looked up at the densely populated Crystal Beehive. It was strange, these curled-up figures were also legislators, but since the start of the battle, they had remained silent.
"Holt, attack the Beehive!"
As Bologue issued the command to Holt, he stomped on the ground, shattering the surface, and the fragmented material condensed into a Long Spear in his hand, which he threw forcefully.
Holt did not pause for a moment as Amber enveloped the surroundings, laying down an invisible swamp, then he turned around and directly attacked the Beehive above the Speaker’s head.
"Stop!"
The Speaker attempted to stop Holt, but facing that absolute force of delay, all attacks directed at Holt were stalled in mid-air, unable to move.
A sense of helpless despair lingered in the Speaker’s heart; he was truly too old, and Holt was too young. He could withstand Holt’s attacks on himself but could not stop him from rampantly killing others.
Holt reached the Crystal Beehive like lightning, unimpeded, and thrust his hand into the crystalline, eerie gel, forcibly pulling out a curled-up legislator.
The legislator was entirely naked, draped in cold and sticky gel residues. Underneath his slightly pale skin was cold blood. At first contact, Holt thought he was a corpse until he felt the faint heartbeat beneath the chest.
Continuous whispers and hoarse murmurs sounded in Holt’s ear.
"Stop him!"
"Quick, stop him!"
"Maintain the Kingdom on earth... what you promised!"
Holt was momentarily disoriented; looking back into the Crystal Beehive, he saw the curled figures intensely writhing, as if sensing a crisis to their existence, attempting to escape from the Beehive.
Weak currents flickered between them, and the disturbing whispers grew louder.
"What exactly are you?"
Holt’s face turned pale; the Ancestral Council was far more eerie than he had imagined. Then he felt a gaze fall upon him.
Looking down, he saw the legislator opening his eyes, which were entirely pitch-black, devoid of any whites.
Bologue’s command voice sounded.
"Kill him!"
Holt hesitated not a bit and twisted the legislator’s throat, afraid of not being able to completely kill this strange thing, he also pierced through the legislator’s heart, tearing the spine, creating a gruesome bloody hole in the chest.
Almost simultaneously as Holt killed the legislator, the whispers became clearer, like layers of sharp crying sounds.
"Don’t panic, I heard it too! This is not Secret Energy!"
Bologue continued to shout outside the gate, striving to distance himself from the Nest Core, separating from the realm of the Earthly Celestial Kingdom, using his and Holt’s different reactions to judge the complex internal situation.
"Throw out the corpse!"
Holt forcefully tossed the corpse after a brief flight, it thudded heavily before Bologue, its internal organs spilling out from the bloody hole upon impact, its head twisted with only a terrifying grim face facing Bologue.
Bologue didn’t approach the corpse but commanded the ground beneath it, laboriously overcoming the Ethereum Mutual Exclusion before slowly maneuvering it towards himself through the writhing earth.
Soon, Bologue noticed the corpse’s head beginning to wither, as if hundreds of years had passed in an instant, its flesh decaying and disappearing, leaving only a lonesome skull, eerily ceasing when reaching the broken throat.
Bologue continued dragging the corpse until the decay spread past the throat and chest, stopping when it reached the waist area as he halted.
Above the waist, the body rapidly decayed and weathered into a lonesome skeleton, while below the waist, the body maintained its lively flesh form.
"Found it!"
Bologue joyfully tossed the Wrath Bite; its sharp blade pierced through the boundary line of life and death, standing like a boundary stone above the corpse, between Bologue and the Nest Core.
The Speaker glanced from afar, his face as grim as a pool of stinking dead water.
Holt’s battle continued; after executing Bologue’s command, he returned to attack Siti, a poor woman entirely no match for Holt, her body slowed into different speeds, and without Holt even approaching, she broke herself into several pieces.
The disturbing screams reverberated endlessly within the Crystal Beehive.
"He found out!"
"He found out!"
"Eliminate the threat! We order you to eliminate the threat!"
The Speaker’s head slowly hung down until he could no longer endure the disturbing sounds from the legislators.
"Silence!"
The Speaker’s voice was not loud but was so clear, like iron law, spreading to everyone’s ears, and in an instant, the disturbing sounds vanished.
