Chapter 1565 - 1606: Two Little Bees

  • Next Chapter

Jeremiah May initially glanced at the little one a few times, seeing her sitting there like a doll, not doing much, so he buried his head in dealing with his homework.

Jeremiah’s writing speed was very fast. Those problems that took others quite a while to calculate, he almost solved mentally.

However, the workload of a first-year middle school student was not light. By the time Jeremiah finished his homework and looked at the little one again, she was still sitting there obediently, and nearly an hour had passed.

Jeremiah was a bit stunned. Even if a little child is silly, sitting dazed for an hour is a bit too much...

The little one noticed him looking at her, so she spoke up, "I’m being good."

A strange feeling suddenly welled up in Jeremiah’s heart.

"You’re very good." He thought for a moment, picked the little one up from the chair, and then asked, "What do you want to play?" He didn’t have any children’s toys here.

"Pat-a-cake..." the little one said.

Jeremiah’s eyes showed confusion, but the little one started pulling his hands and demonstrated, "Two little bees, flying in the flower bushes, flying..."

Jeremiah was at a loss for words. What era was this from? The little one was actually playing with this?

However, what he didn’t know was that this afternoon, Mabel Quinn taught her daughter this. She originally thought that with her daughter’s current brain injury, she wouldn’t remember it, but unexpectedly, after being taught once, her daughter picked it up and even recited the phrases smoothly.

Perhaps she had played this before when she was younger, so relearning it was quicker.

At this moment, the little one happily led Jeremiah in play. After shouting "fly," it turned into a rock-paper-scissors game. The winner shouted "clap clap," and the loser had to shout "ah ah."

But the problem was, how could Jeremiah possibly shout "ah ah"? In his view, this kind of game was entirely childish and boring. If he really shouted "ah ah," wouldn’t that mean he was childish and boring as well?

So, the little one’s fist faced Jeremiah’s scissors, and they stared at each other.

After a while, the little one couldn’t help saying, "Brother Chen, you have to shout ’ah ah.’"

Jeremiah scoffed; how could he possibly shout that?

The little one, seemingly afraid he didn’t understand, started imitating, shouting "ah ah" while pretending to fall in defeat, looking quite adorable.

But Jeremiah remained unmoved.

The little one grew anxious, as if thinking he didn’t know how to shout it, continuously shouting "ah ah" beside him, her eyes growing red, as if afraid he wouldn’t want to play with her anymore.

Seeing this appearance of the little one, somehow, Jeremiah’s heart softened, and an "ah ah" unexpectedly slipped out of his mouth.

After shouting that, he suddenly realized, quickly covering his mouth, his cheeks turning a shade of pink.

Heaven help him, how could he let out such a sound? Luckily, they were in his room now, with no one else around to see.

But the little one, hearing Jeremiah finally shout "ah ah," immediately broke into a smile, happily grinning at Jeremiah.

Seeing the little one smile, Jeremiah felt a sense of relief, at least...she wouldn’t cry. This way...wasn’t so bad, right?
