Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1563 - 1604: Worthy
Mabel Quinn leaned against her husband’s chest, only then did she feel as if some of her worries had dissipated. It seemed like only with him by her side could she feel this sense of security.
During dinner at the May Family, Kyle Kinston discussed with Mr. May, expressing his wish to stay a few more days at the May Family house. Mainly because the little one had gotten used to living there, and leaving suddenly might cause discomfort. So, he wanted to do some preparatory work for the little one to help her adapt.
Mr. May had no objections and welcomed the idea. After all, maintaining a good relationship with the Kinston Family was beneficial for him. Besides, from what he knew, Mabel Quinn’s Quinn Family was also considered a prominent family in City J, although previously he hadn’t quite familiarized himself with it.
Additionally, there was another reason: Mabel Quinn bore some resemblance to Lady Lei, which made Mr. May’s fondness for her increase even more.
The little one ate quietly during the meal, without speaking, but she was well-mannered, holding the children’s chopsticks properly, with not a grain of rice dropped, a clear sign of a good upbringing.
Jeremiah May used to wonder why at times the little one made him feel like she wasn’t a child raised by a rural woman, even if she was a fool.
And now, he finally understood the reason.
The little one finished her meal neatly without needing to be fed and then used the children’s chopsticks to insist on placing a piece of meat into Jeremiah May’s bowl, flashing a bright smile, "Young Master, eat the meat."
She thought the meat was delicious and wanted the young master to try it, believing he would like it.
Jeremiah May pressed his thin lips together and looked at the meat in the bowl but did not eat it.
However, Mr. May suddenly smiled and said, "Little one, you don’t have to call him Young Master North anymore. You can just call him Brother Jeremiah from now on."
"Young Master is Brother Jeremiah?" The little one blinked her eyes, seemingly taking a moment to process this.
Jeremiah May, upon hearing her call him Brother Jeremiah, suddenly felt a warmth at the back of his ears, abruptly putting down the chopsticks and standing up, "I... I’ll go back to my room first!"
Then he left the dining room quickly, leaving everyone else behind.
The little one hung her head. Did Brother Jeremiah not like the meat? But she thought the meat was really tasty.
However, Kyle Kinston thoughtfully watched Jeremiah May’s retreating figure, then patted his daughter’s little head, "Why don’t you go play with Brother Jeremiah? He should be willing to play with you." It was time to let the two children develop their relationship, and judging by the earlier situation, it’s quite possible this Jeremiah May didn’t actually dislike their daughter.
The moment the little one heard this, she nodded and hopped off the chair, running towards the stairs, trying hard to catch up with Jeremiah May’s figure.
Mr. May watched the scene with interest, suddenly asking, "So, Mr. Kinston, are you fond of my nephew?"
"Your nephew is not bad, quite a match for Ivy," Kyle Kinston replied with a smile.
If someone else said this, Mr. May would naturally be displeased—"quite a match" being terms he had never imagined would be used for a May Family member. But coming from Kyle Kinston, it was understandable.
"However, my nephew is naturally aloof; though young, he has a strong sense of agency and may not necessarily do as Mr. Kinston wishes," Mr. May said.
