Chapter 1528 - 1569: Why Care

  • Next Chapter

Atlas Shaw arrived at the courtyard, but he didn’t see the little one’s figure, so he simply followed the path and walked over to the servant’s quarters.

"Y...young master! What brings you here?" The servants in the quarters were surprised to see Jeremiah May.

"Um... is the child named Ivy here?" Jeremiah asked somewhat uneasily.

"Ah, today Amelia Foster took her son and daughter out, saying she wanted to take the children for a shop and buy some things," one servant replied, referring to Amelia as the second sister since her elder sister was called the big sister here.

Jeremiah pursed his lips slightly and glanced at the box of cake in his hand. Now that he was here, should he take the cake back?

So he said to the overseer of the servant’s quarters, "Do you have the key to their room?"

"Ah, yes, we do!" The overseer replied quickly, having spare keys to the quarters.

"Then open the door," he said.

The overseer naturally didn’t dare to ask more questions and quickly took the key to open the door.

When the door to the room where Amelia and her children usually stayed opened, it was Jeremiah’s first time seeing the place where the little one lived, with a big bed and a small bed in the room. Some boy’s belongings were on the small bed, probably belonging to her brother, while the little one likely shared the big bed with her mother.

There weren’t many things in the room, not even a TV; just a desk with basic children’s pictures and some elementary school books.

Suddenly, pieces of paper in a basket on the desk caught his eye. These pieces were... In no time, Jeremiah recognized these pieces as fragments of the Atlas Shaw poster he had given the little one.

Instantly, a hint of anger emanated from Jeremiah. To think his first attempt to awkwardly ask for this poster turned out like this in such a short time.

Did that little fool tear it up happily?

In front of these poster fragments, he felt like he had been made into a fool. If he had known she would treat his gift this way, why did he bother giving it!

He stepped forward, grabbed the poster fragments from the basket, then turned coldly and walked out of the room without saying a word.

The overseer also noticed the change in the young master’s demeanor right away, not daring to make a sound, let alone ask anything. Once Jeremiah left the room, the overseer hastily locked the door again.

Jeremiah walked to a trash bin in the courtyard and threw the cake and the clutched poster fragments into it.

His long lashes gently lowered, it’s just a fool, why should he care?

Laughable, isn’t it his own fault!

Due to Atlas Shaw’s sudden action in the mall, chaos ensued, and the subsequent TV drama promotion came to an abrupt end.

At this moment, in the mall’s VIP lounge, agent Leo was looking at Atlas Shaw with a surprised expression, "What did you say? You saw Ivy?"

"Yes, I saw a woman carrying Ivy away. Even if it was just her back, I wouldn’t mistake it," Atlas replied.
