The little girl’s gaze was curiously examining this side room; after all, it was her first time here, and everything felt intriguing to her.

Finally, her eyes landed on the large LCD TV screen in the side room.

"Want to watch TV?" Jeremiah May suddenly asked, thinking that watching TV could distract the little one, reducing the pain of applying medication.

Her dark, phoenix-like eyes blinked slightly, but she didn’t make a sound.

Jeremiah simply turned on the TV, glanced at the little one, chose an animation program, and then started applying medication to the little one.

As soon as the little one saw the animation, those phoenix eyes immediately brightened considerably.

After all, she’s still a child, Jeremiah thought to himself, forgetting that she was only a 12-year-old girl.

But what surprised him was that while watching the animation, her spine was straight, sitting in such a proper manner, with a focused expression on her small face, her black, phoenix-like eyes tightly staring at the LCD screen.

For Jeremiah, the only girl close in age to the little one was Mireille, but Mireille always complained about animations, saying one was boring or another was, or she would make a fuss, which was annoying.

In comparison, he preferred the little one this way.

After treating the little one’s hand injury, Jeremiah started attending to her knee injury.

Just then, Grace Yowell entered with Grace Yowell, and upon seeing Jeremiah May with the little one, a hint of displeasure flashed in her eyes, but she covered it up immediately and smiled slightly, "Jeremiah, this little girl is hurt, isn’t she? How about I take a look?"

"No need to worry, Grace," Jeremiah said flatly, "I’ll handle her injuries myself."

Mireille observed this situation, muttering discontentedly, "Mom, how can the sofa be for that idiot? She’s the servant’s child, what right does she have to sit on the sofa in the house!"

Jeremiah’s gaze coldly swept towards Mireille, who pouted and said, feeling emboldened by her mother’s presence, "I wasn’t wrong; she’s just a servant’s child!"

"If she’s a servant’s child, then what are you?" Jeremiah retorted.

Grace quickly interjected, "Jeremiah, Mireille didn’t mean any harm; she’s just direct in her speech. Mireille just wants to play with you more. Why don’t you spend some time with her? I’ll take this little girl back to her mother."

"Direct? No harm intended?" Jeremiah retorted sarcastically, "I don’t think so. Does sitting on a sofa require some kind of qualification? Or have some people forgotten their identity, thinking fake is real? If Mireille doesn’t understand, shouldn’t Grace be aware? Won’t you reveal certain truths to Mireille so she can see reality more clearly?"

The smile on Grace’s face froze, as she understood the implication in Jeremiah’s words.

She wasn’t Lady Landon’s biological daughter, and this was somewhat of a semi-public secret, since DNA tests can’t be hidden, and both the May Family and Landon Family’s other branches, along with Lady Landon’s still-living father, the Elder Landon, were aware of this.
