Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1457 - 1498: Nowhere to Be Found
Suddenly, the driver sitting in the front row received a phone call. After answering it, he said to Ethan, "Chairman, Francine Howards has already been arrested by the police."
Upon hearing this, Ethan seemed to have expected it all along, without the slightest surprise.
After a while, the police appeared with Francine Howards. Her hands were covered by a piece of clothing, and she seemed utterly lost. If it weren’t for the two policemen supporting her, she might have already collapsed on the ground.
Ethan’s gaze coldly fell on the utterly different Francine Howards from earlier years, then he turned away. Back then, when he first saw Francine, he was amazed; she was so overbearing, so arrogant, making her seem unattainable.
Ironically, the more unattainable she was, the more he wanted to suppress her. But as time passed, Francine became less and less interesting to him; even when she actively came to him to discuss terms of exchange, he didn’t even have any desire for her anymore.
Women are just like that.
No matter how they might astonish him initially, they eventually become utterly uninteresting.
"Let’s go," Ethan said to the driver up front.
The driver drove away from the airport and couldn’t help but ask, "Chairman, why did you inform the Quinn Family about Francine Howards at the airport? Aren’t you worried that they’ll think we at the East Bamboo Assembly are involved and come after us together?"
"Francine and I have had contact, so even if I wanted to hide it, it would eventually be found out. I didn’t anticipate Francine would cause such a big stir. All I discovered was Francine heading to the airport. Since that’s the case, let’s show goodwill to the Quinn Family and Kinston Family; it’ll make it less likely that we’ll be implicated in the future," Ethan replied.
The driver understood the roundabout reasoning at Ethan’s words.
Edward Quinn almost blacked out upon learning that the car coming to pick up his granddaughter was blown up, with bodyguards and servants all sent to the hospital unconscious. Yet, his granddaughter was nowhere to be found.
He knew he couldn’t faint; he had to find Ivy! Alessia Quinn already mentioned that the bomb was handed to her by Francine Howards, so he immediately thought Francine might be connected to the bomb at the kindergarten gate and was seeking Francine when he received Ethan’s call, informing him of Francine’s likely whereabouts.
Although the police had arrested Francine, there was no trace of his granddaughter, and from police interrogation and road surveillance, it appeared Francine got off the car, but the child didn’t follow; she was driven away by her parents instead.
However, several places beyond the airport lacked road surveillance, and where the car ultimately went was unknown, but when it was discovered again, it had collided with a truck, and Francine’s parents were instantly killed.
The sole factor preventing Edward Quinn from despairing was that his granddaughter was not found at the accident scene, suggesting she might still be alive.
"Dad, Ivy... Ivy... Is there... any news?" Mabel Quinn stumbled into the police station; upon receiving news in Falling City, she felt as if her world was crumbling and immediately rushed back to J City with Kyle Kinston.
