Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife

Chapter 1421 - 1462: His Reluctance

During a break on set, Atlas Shaw walked straight over to Mabel Quinn, who was flipping through the script. "You now, compared to how you were back in City G, you really are quite different."

"Different?" Mabel was stunned for a moment and looked up at him.

"You smile more," he said.

She couldn’t help but smile. "Maybe it’s because there have been a lot of good things." She’d come back to City J and reunited with her father, made up with Kyle, and Alessia Quinn’s situation had also been resolved smoothly.

"You and Kyle Kinston having a wedding, that’s one of those good things that’s put you in a good mood, right?" Atlas said. These days, news about Mabel and Kyle holding another wedding had been all over the place.

The official explanation was that the wedding they’d planned back then had never been held because of the shipwreck that year. Although the two had already gotten their marriage certificate, it had always been a regret. Now that Mabel had returned to the Quinn Family and been acknowledged by her ancestors, the Kinston Family and the Quinn Family both felt they should make up for it with another wedding.

So this wedding was being called a grand, once-in-a-generation event. After all, even if the Quinn Family had been riddled with internal strife in recent years and was on the decline, in City J they were still an old-money clan. As for the Kinston Family, there was even less need to say anything. What kind of family were they? Just the part of their history known to the public already stretched back hundreds of years, not to mention the parts of the Kinston history people didn’t know about.

A family like that, able to be passed down for so long, had a foundation so formidable it was almost frightening. Some even said that what the Kinston Family could actually control was far more than just Falling City. It was only because they didn’t harbor too much ambition for further expansion; otherwise, how could it possibly be just one Falling City?

The Kinston Family’s wealth, along with the hidden power buried beneath the surface that people knew nothing about, was probably far beyond anyone’s imagination.

Right now, Mabel answered softly, which counted as replying to Atlas Shaw’s comment.

"I haven’t seen Ivy for quite a few days now. I really miss her. In the future, can I still often go see Ivy? Take her out to play?" Atlas said. Funny thing was, the woman he loved was about to get married, yet what he couldn’t let go of most was Ivy.

From the moment this little one was born, he’d been right there by her side. He’d watched her grow bit by bit, watched her transform from a wrinkly little monkey into an adorable little girl, watched her learn to crawl, to walk, to talk.

Back then, when she had just been born, he was the first to take her from the nurse’s arms. He’d followed the nurse to bathe her, and he was also the one who took her very first photo.

This little one had so many "firsts" that involved him, and from all of this, he’d gained a kind of satisfaction he’d never felt before.

"Of course you can," Mabel said. "Ivy’s life was saved by you. Of course you can come see her often, take her out to play. I think she’ll be very happy too."

Atlas smiled, seeming to let out a faint sigh of relief. "You know, the biggest difference in you now is that before, it felt like you were only living for Ivy. But now, it’s like you’re really living for yourself."

For the one she loved, and for those who loved her.

"You can live like that too," Mabel said with a smile.

Atlas smiled again. Just then, someone from the crew called out, "Screenwriter Qin, someone’s here for you."

Mabel turned and looked over, only to see a figure standing not far away. It was none other than Daniel Harris.
