Chapter 1353 - 1392: To Cry or to Laugh

Alright, now, not only is Kyle Kinston embarrassed, but Mabel Quinn’s embarrassment completely surpasses the slight awkwardness that Kyle’s eyes reveal.

"Next time, Ivy wants to sleep with Daddy and Mommy too." Still, it was Katherine Quinn’s little voice that broke the awkward silence.

Contrasting Edward Quinn’s frown, the little one seemed quite happy. She remembered how many kids in kindergarten slept with their Daddy and Mommy. When she heard this, she just felt envious, as she only had the experience of sleeping with Mommy. Sleeping with Daddy and Mommy together was something she had only fantasized about.

But now she felt like this fantasy might easily come true!

"Daddy is staying here today too!" The little one demanded strongly.

But before Kyle Kinston could speak, Edward Quinn let out a heavy cough, "Alright, get up and wash up, Ivy still has to go to kindergarten soon!"

So, Mabel Quinn got up, still with an embarrassed face, relieved that her pajamas were fairly tidy. Compared to her awkwardness, Kyle Kinston was very composed, even under Edward Quinn’s sharp gaze, staying as usual.

Edward Quinn took Katherine Quinn and left the room first.

Mabel Quinn just breathed a sigh of relief when suddenly a pair of hands wrapped around her body, and the next moment she was engulfed in that broad embrace.

"Do you really want to spend your life with me, to start over?" Kyle Kinston murmured, as even now, it all seemed somewhat surreal to him.

"Yes." Mabel Quinn lightly responded, this time she didn’t push away from his embrace like before. She was sure about having him in her heart, a fact that was confirmed without a doubt yesterday.

"Is it... out of sympathy for me?" He hesitated for a moment and finally asked. It was extremely conflicting; on one hand, he wanted to stay by her side, even if it was out of sympathy it didn’t matter, but on the other hand, he yearned for her love.

If it was just sympathy, then what would he do if someday she fell in love with another man? Could he truly bless her, or would he once again resort to unscrupulous means to imprison her, just to make her wholly his?

No matter which, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

"It’s not sympathy." Her words shattered his conflicting emotions. Mabel Quinn turned to face Kyle Kinston, saying, "I wouldn’t just risk my future out of sympathy, I want to start over with you, just because you are... Kyle Kinston."

Just because he was the only man she ever loved, because she would still be perplexed for him, feel pain for him, worry for him.

Because in her heart, he had always existed, just momentarily buried deep inside, unable to truly be forgotten.

Those dark eyes showed surprise, shock, disbelief... finally turning into a deep joy, spreading across his face.

He was smiling, not a shallow smile, nor a bewitching one that seduces the heart, but a free and excited smile, yet accompanying his smile were his tears.

Two trails of tears flowed out from his eyes, along his cheeks, while he continued to smile.
