Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1344 - 1383: Can’t Bear to See Me in Pain?
Mabel was stunned, and she heard Kyle Kinston continue, "At today’s banquet, I spoke about our marriage. I just thought that doing so could quickly dispel similar attacks, preventing you and our daughter from being slandered. If you think I handled it improperly, you can tell me, and I’ll figure out a way to make amends."
He knew she never wanted to be too involved with him, and naturally wouldn’t want so many people to know about their marriage relationship.
By doing so at today’s banquet, he feared that by tomorrow, the whole country would know they were married and had a daughter.
While this was what he had hoped for, hoping it would become a fact that would make it more natural for her to return to his side, if it wasn’t what she wanted, he could adopt measures, such as completely suppressing this kind of news.
Mabel shook her head, "You didn’t handle anything improperly. Just as you said, this is the most beneficial counterattack. Even if you hadn’t said it, I would have disclosed our marriage. I don’t want others to look at Ivy with biased eyes."
It was better in G City before, but now that she was back with the Quinn Family, interpersonal relationships would inevitably become more complex, and the dark sides would naturally increase.
If their daughter truly had a "father unknown" status, she feared she would suffer many groundless attacks. She didn’t want her daughter to fall into that situation.
Kyle looked at her and asked, "Is it just for our daughter’s sake?"
She was silent for a while, then changed the subject, "Did you suddenly grab my hand just now because the pain premonition before Full Moon appeared again?"
He lowered his gaze slightly and didn’t pursue the question any further, merely responding with a faint "Hmm."
"How about now, does it still hurt?" she asked.
"If it still hurts, what do you plan to do?" he backfired.
She stared at him suspiciously, guessing whether that so-called premonition pain was still happening to him. According to him, it was random, irregular, and unlimited in frequency. And he was good at hiding it, so is it possible he was hiding it well, and she didn’t notice?
And the most direct method would be... at the next moment, Mabel’s hand directly pressed on the back of Kyle’s hand. Whether or not he was in pain now, this method was the most direct.
As long as their bodies were in contact, his pain would disappear.
His dark phoenix eyes looked somewhat startled at the hand on the back of his hand. She... seemed finally willing to slowly touch him, just like how she had once grabbed his hand in the banquet hall before.
Even if she, at this moment, felt only sympathy for him, it was still something good.
"You can’t bear for me to hurt, can you?" he murmured.
Maybe she couldn’t, a voice in her heart said so, but she only said, "Tomorrow is the Full Moon. I’ve already talked to my father about it. You can stay overnight at the Quinn Family then."
"Okay." He smiled, then said, "The pain’s premonition hasn’t manifested yet, but if you want to continue holding my hand, I don’t mind."
Mabel’s face flushed a bit, and she quickly moved her hand away.
This time, however, he grabbed her hand back, gently brushing his fingertips against her fingers, and asked, "Do you really not regret it?"
"Regret what?" she was momentarily at a loss.
