Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1331 - 1370: I Only Wish to Devote My Whole Life Purely to Her
With every extra sentence Edward Quinn spoke, Kyle Kinston’s face grew a few shades paler.
By the time he finished, Kyle Kinston’s face was already as white as paper.
"Whether you believe it or not, in this lifetime, there’s only been one woman for me, Mabel. She’s the only one I’ve ever loved, there has never been any other woman." Though Kyle Kinston’s face was pale, he did not dodge Edward Quinn’s gaze in the slightest.
"Then what about that woman Francine Howards? All these years, have you been blind to the gossip and tabloid news about you in Falling City?" Edward Quinn shot back in an icy voice.
Kyle Kinston’s body suddenly went rigid. It was his fault—still his fault. If back then he hadn’t turned a blind eye but taken action, would there have been any reporter in the whole of Falling City who dared to publish a thing?
And if... he hadn’t given Francine Howards an opening, then he wouldn’t have forgotten Mabel, and he wouldn’t have had to wait six whole years before everything finally came back to him.
More than that... "If I’d known earlier that in this lifetime I would meet Mabel, that I would love her so deeply, then I never would have given any other woman the slightest chance to come near me; I never would have let her feel even a trace of discomfort or doubt. All I ever wished was that I could hand this whole life of mine over to her, pure and unblemished." As Kyle Kinston spoke, his dark phoenix eyes were filled with a pained regret, and his expression was steeped in bitterness.
If he had known he would meet her, how he wished he could have given her the most perfect version of himself...
Edward Quinn was stunned. The man in front of him, at this moment, didn’t look like that aloof, cool-headed, lofty Elder Kinston he had once met, but only like a man tormented by love.
And that look of remorse in the other’s eyes was so familiar to him. Because he often saw that same look in his own reflection.
Regretting the misunderstanding he’d had with Clover back then, regretting the mistake that could never be undone. And now... Edward Quinn let out a sigh; all the harsh words he had prepared suddenly stuck in his throat, hard to say.
The words he wanted to use to curse Kyle Kinston—weren’t they in fact curses he could just as well throw at himself?
"What exactly is the relationship between you and that Francine Howards?" Edward Quinn asked.
"No relationship at all," Kyle Kinston replied. "I have never had a shred of feeling for Francine Howards, nor have I ever had any physical relationship with her."
Only then did Edward Quinn’s face ease a little.
"I don’t care how much you regret things now, and I don’t care what you’re really thinking, but Mabel is my daughter. If you dare force her in the slightest, or if you ever hurt her again, then even if it costs me this old life of mine, I will never let you off!" Edward Quinn said. The ruthlessness in his tone was in fact the deepest love he had for his daughter.
Kyle Kinston answered solemnly, "You don’t need to let me off. Even I won’t let myself off."
Edward Quinn fixed his gaze on him. "Fine. Then right now, I’ll get some justice for the daughter I had six years ago!" As he spoke, he suddenly stepped forward, drew back his fist, and slammed it hard into Kyle Kinston’s abdomen.
Kyle Kinston could have dodged, but he did not. He took Edward Quinn’s punch head-on.
He simply let Edward Quinn’s fists pound into his body, offering no resistance at all.
Blow after blow, but Edward Quinn was, after all, a man of advancing years; after a while, he felt tired, and with a slight pant, he finally lowered his fists.
