Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife

Chapter 1329 - 1368: Meeting the Father-in-Law

  • Next Chapter

As for Kyle Kinston, naturally he was on the same flight as Mabel Quinn and their daughter. When the car arrived in J City, Edward Quinn personally came to pick them up. Seeing his daughter and granddaughter, Edward was of course overjoyed, but the moment he saw Kyle standing beside Mabel, his face suddenly darkened.

Originally, after Edward woke up and learned that it was Kyle who had found a doctor to save him, he had actually felt grateful. But then, from Mabel’s good friend Alice Conley, he found out that the reason his daughter had boarded that doomed ship was because Kyle had refused to let her give birth to the child. In order to protect the baby in her belly, Mabel had chosen to leave Kyle and to board that ship.

After the shipwreck, the Quinn Family likewise spent a great deal of effort searching for Mabel, but there was no news at all. Before Kyle was put under Hypnosis, he had once come to look for Edward, but Edward had consistently refused to see him.

To him, Kyle was the man who had made him lose his daughter a second time. If it weren’t for Kyle’s power and status, Edward might long ago have already avenged his daughter.

And precisely because he could no longer seek justice for his daughter, Edward became disheartened. After that, he never contacted Kyle again. Even when he saw those tabloid magazines occasionally run gossip pieces about Kyle and that Francine Howards from the Howards Family, Edward only found it laughable.

Once, the man his daughter had loved so deeply ended up appearing in scandal sheets with another woman.

In this world, how many people still remembered Mabel?

And now, when Edward saw Kyle, there was no way he would offer a pleasant face. But in front of the little one, he couldn’t very well explode, so his attitude toward Kyle was merely icy cold.

"Mr. Kinston, I’ll be taking Mabel and Ivy back to the Quinn Family next. No need to trouble yourself," Edward said flatly. The rejection in his tone was perfectly obvious.

Kyle pressed his lips together, then gave a faint smile. "They are my wife and daughter. I don’t see that as any trouble. Let me take them back to my father-in-law’s house together."

Those two words, father-in-law, were grating to the ear. Edward’s brows drew together. "Who’s your father-in-law?"

"As long as Mabel is my wife, even for a single day, then you are my father-in-law," Kyle replied, his attitude one of measured respect.

It was only because the man in front of him was Mabel’s father that he was so respectful, only because of that that he was willing to press his warm face up against someone else’s cold backside.

All because... he owed Mabel far, far too much.

Edward was momentarily choked speechless. Mabel hurriedly tugged her father toward the car, afraid the two of them would stage a full-blown father-in-law versus son-in-law battle right there at the airport.

Mabel and her daughter got into Edward’s car, while Kyle got into the car he had arranged for himself in J City and followed along behind them the whole way.

When they arrived at the Quinn Family home, everyone got out. Edward glanced at Kyle, who had also gotten out and was now standing at the Quinn Family’s front door. His brows knit slightly, then he said to Mabel, "Mabel, take Ivy inside first. I have a few words I’d like to say to Mr. Kinston."

Calling him "Mr. Kinston" over and over was polite, but it was also a silent refusal.

At this moment, Edward did not regard Kyle as a son-in-law at all. In his eyes, this was merely a man who had once wronged his daughter.
