Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1327 - 1366: Tears
"I’m sorry... I’m sorry..." His voice continued in her ear, but it sounded increasingly hoarse.
Mabel Quinn took a deep breath, not pushing away the embrace, but instead softly said, "Kyle..."
That name made his body tremble suddenly. How long had it been since she called him that way? It made him nostalgic and gave him an impulse to cry.
"It’s all in the past, and I don’t want to think about it anymore. No matter what happened back then, I’ve already forgiven you; I won’t hate you nor blame you, but..." She paused, turning to gaze steadily at the handsome face before her.
This man was the only one she ever loved in her life. He taught her what it meant to feel deeply moved, but he also made her understand what heartbreak felt like.
Once, she thought she would only ever love one person in her lifetime. After leaving him, she never set any limits for herself, but neither did she fall in love with anyone else.
Even with outstanding men like Daniel Harris and Atlas Shaw, she could appreciate them but could not stir any waves in her heart.
"Sorry, I can’t fall in love with you again because I truly don’t have the courage to love once more," she said, realizing that these days she had indeed been reflecting on their relationship.
Perhaps it’s simple to be with him again. As long as she nods her head, she could become his wife, giving their daughter a complete family again. But would that really be good?
Inside, she felt lost and uneasy.
So at this moment, with a calm heart, she spoke to the man before her, "I have loved, hated, escaped, and died. Everything I experienced six years ago felt like a lifetime to me; it was so exhausting, as if it drained all my emotions. Now, I really don’t have the courage or the strength to love you once more. Even if you stay by my side like this, the outcome won’t be as you wish."
Her calmness only made his heart hurt more.
The pain he caused her back then—how deep was it? It destroyed all her feelings for him, so thoroughly.
"No... courage... and no strength?" he murmured, as two lines of tears flowed from his phoenix eyes.
Mabel was speechless. His tears made her whole body stiffen, her mind suddenly blank.
He used to say that every time she cried, he would be at a loss, clumsy and unable to cope.
But isn’t she the same? Seeing his tears, not knowing what to do—back then and even now.
His long eyelashes, wet with tears, seemed to add to his tragic beauty.
"It’s me who ruined everything, it’s my fault, all my fault..." he choked out.
She awkwardly raised her hand, instinctively wiping his tears, not wanting to see them, which caused her to feel... uncomfortable.
Her fingertips, wet with his tears, gave her a burning sensation.
His hand grasped hers, kissing her fingers lightly, "Don’t... don’t leave me, okay? If you’re tired, then let me love you, with all my emotion and all my strength, let me truly love you."
