Chapter 161: Chapter 153: The First Wang-Yu Collaboration

Yu Dong saw everyone’s confusion and exchanged a look with Zhao Youcai.

"Youcai?"

Zhao Youcai chuckled. "Oh, right. I kidnapped the captain and ordered him to evacuate the crew to save everyone. You all know that, right?"

The fifteen crew members behind Cai Hong all nodded slightly in agreement.

At the time, they had indeed heard the captain’s broadcast, stayed in their rooms, and avoided being attacked by the zombies. The sailors drinking outside... were almost all dead.

Their bodies were gnawed to shreds, their heads still twitching on the ground... It was a gruesome sight.

"Does saving people give you the right to kill whoever you want? Does this mean you’ll just kill anyone who doesn’t listen to you from now on?" Cai Hong shouted harshly.

"Not at all. I stabbed your first mate to death because... he had turned into a zombie. If I hadn’t killed him, was I supposed to let him eat me and Captain Chen? I already told Officer Xiao about this yesterday. He even saw the body."

Chen Guangzong froze. That wasn’t what happened at all.

But before he could speak, Officer Xiao said:

"Reporting to Officer Wang, Zhao Youcai is correct. He was worried we would misunderstand, so he told me yesterday. I checked, and it was indeed a zombie."

Wang Dingbei’s expression immediately turned icy. He slammed his hand on the table, sending the "Cruise Ship Rules and Regulations (Provisional)" flying.

"Cai Hong, what is the meaning of this! Using such despicable methods to frame the person who saved your lives! Are you even human?! You concocted some nonsensical piece of crap document, dared to overstep your authority and interfere in police matters, confused the facts to wrong an innocent man, and showed a complete lack of organization, discipline, and shame! Arrest him!"

Immediately, the two officers, Jing Yanwei and Xiao Dabe, stepped forward and took out their handcuffs.

Chen Guangzong, who had been about to speak, froze as he watched Yu Dong and Wang Dingbei acting in perfect concert... A cold sweat broke out all over his back.

"That’s not what happened! He clearly murdered someone! Officer Wang, have you made a mistake? Captain Chen, say something!"

But at that moment, it was as if something was caught in Chen Guangzong’s throat. He couldn’t get a single word out.

Seeing how things were turning out, Cai Hong panicked and pulled an axe from under the table.

"Fuck! Brothers, these people are all in it together to screw us over! Pull out your weapons! Let’s show them the men on this ship aren’t to be trifled with!"

Behind him, the five burly sailors immediately responded, pulling out an assortment of knives and clubs. They looked vicious.

Their cruise ship had to sail the high seas, and any encounters with pirates had to be handled by the sailors.

These men could sail a ship and fight pirates; they all had a reckless, brutish streak.

Seeing this, Wang Dingbei immediately drew his gun.

"Everyone on the ground! Hands on your heads!"

The sailors froze for a moment, but Cai Hong immediately shouted, "Don’t be afraid! They’re out of bullets! I saw it yesterday... their magazines are empty!"

"Officer Wang, our brothers here respect you. We want to get along. Let’s not make things so tense. There are only nine of you, after all."

"Oh? And you know for a fact I don’t have a spare magazine? Who wants to bet on it?"

Wang Dingbei sneered, aiming at Cai Hong and the sailors. They stiffened and looked at Cai Hong. The other crew members behind them hesitated as well.

They had only been dragged into this by Cai Hong and weren’t actually that aggressive. It was just that Cai Hong had said he was fighting for the crew’s interests, and they would all benefit if he succeeded.

They had served others before the apocalypse, and now they had to serve even more people after it... They didn’t want to live like that.

Cai Hong’s plan was a definite plus for the crew, and it wouldn’t harm anyone else. All they had to do was follow his lead. There was no reason not to.

Just as they were locked in a stalemate, a group of people entered from outside.

Huang Zhiqiang, Zhou Jian Country, Yan Yikai, Zhao Wenjie, Huang Henian, and Lin Mo strode in quickly. Each held a cocked Death God Repeating Crossbow aimed at the sailors.

"All crew members, on the ground, now!"

"Anyone moves, we shoot!"

Never mind the crew; even the other survivors sitting in their seats were startled. They all scrambled back, afraid of getting hit.

Six repeating crossbows. This was no joke!

They had all seen Yu Dong shooting zombies yesterday. One shot, one kill!

Instantly, the sailors dropped all their weapons to the floor. The other crew members, terrified, quickly knelt with their hands on their heads.

Cai Hong was utterly panicked now.

"You... You’re all in this together!"

"Kneel, you dumbass!"

Huang Zhiqiang kicked him to the ground from behind. Cai Hong tried to struggle, but Huang Zhiqiang pressed the crossbow to his forehead, and he instantly froze.

In that moment, he knew they had lost completely...

He had thought this surprise attack would catch Yu Dong completely off guard. He never imagined that Yu Dong was already prepared... or that he’d pull so many crossbows out of nowhere. Most importantly, Yu Dong had already teamed up with Wang Dingbei!

Yu Dong’s and Wang Dingbei’s people worked together to subdue all 32 crew members.

Only Captain Chen Guangzong was left, so scared he couldn’t even stand.

Zhao Youcai walked over and clapped Chen Guangzong on the back.

"Chen."

"Ah! Don’t kill me!"

The scare was enough to make Chen Guangzong wet himself, a yellow puddle spreading on the floor.

"What are you talking about, Captain Chen? We’re good friends... partners who saved people together. Come on, stand up."

Chen Guangzong limply got to his feet. Zhao Youcai helped him straighten his collar.

"Captain Chen, now, why don’t you tell everyone... was it a zombie I killed, or a person? Tell the truth!"

Chen Guangzong looked at the wicked smile on Zhao Youcai’s face, his teeth chattering.

"It... It was a zombie."

"Then why did Cai Hong say I killed a person?"

"He... He wanted to attack your group! He wanted to take over the ship! He wanted... wanted to be the boss! He even threatened me! He forced me to say all this today! Yes! It was all him! You have to deal with him severely! He’s a bastard!"

At that, Cai Hong, writhing on the floor, yelled, "Chen, fuck your mother!"

Aside from Cai Hong’s cursing, the other crew members were all crying foul.

"It was all Cai Hong! He dragged us into this! We didn’t know anything!"

"I’m just a cleaning lady... He said I could do less work in the future, so I came along."

"I’m just a worker. When the third mate speaks, I don’t dare disobey."

"Please, I really didn’t think he was going to do something bad! Please let me go!"

Everyone present watched the complete reversal of the situation in a daze, from Cai Hong’s aggressive posturing at the beginning to him now writhing on the ground like a maggot.

"So he was just a clown..."

CLAP. CLAP. CLAP.

Yu Dong clapped his hands.

"Brilliant, just brilliant. That was a wonderful performance of biting the hand that feeds you. I wonder, did everyone enjoy the show?"

Yu Dong stood in the center of the grand hall, his people behind him holding Death God Repeating Crossbows, and all the crew members lying on the floor before him.

He scanned his surroundings, his gaze meeting those of all the other survivors.

In that moment, no one dared to meet Yu Dong’s eyes.

Seeing this, Wang Dingbei pursed his lips.

’Look at you, showing off...’

It was their first time working together, and it had gone smoothly.

「Time rewound to the previous night.」

After finishing his internal meeting, Yu Dong had walked out of the Interstellar Suite.

He waited on the deck for a moment before Wang Dingbei came up in the elevator.

"Yu Dong, it’s chaotic down there. Cai Hong is running around everywhere. I suspect there’s going to be trouble tomorrow."

"I’ve noticed."

"What’s your plan? Let them make their move, or deal with them tonight...?"

"Let them make their move. We’ll deal with them all at once tomorrow. I can’t be bothered to waste so much time on them. In this life, we have much more important things to do."
